I'm not sure if you're pre or post op. Post-op for one month since I was healing, I liked warm broth because it soothed my stomach. After I healed (week 6 when I felt normal) I was back to loving my super cold drinks. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Current weight: 165.6 lbs My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body.

You look amazing. I'm at 165 lbs & don't look as fit as you. I don't see why you can't weight less if you wanted to. My healthy BMI is 145 lbs but I'm sure when I get to it, I'll want to be smaller too. The bright side is, we still lost a lot of weight. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Sleeve May 15 and I'm Angry
CocoNina replied to esaad's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 2 1/2 months post op. The surgery is a tool. Your stomach is cut but not your brain. It's a mental process, for me, very emotional the first month & a half. I would recommend getting mental help first with the depression because if you're an emotional eater, the surgery might not help in the long run. Good luck. Good for you to be so young & knowing what you need to work on now. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Pant sizes mean almost nothing!!
CocoNina replied to Pazza's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I totally agree with you about sizing. This has always been an issue for me before & after WLS. Before my surgery, in Torrid my pants size was 12, I go to Forever 21 plus & a I'm either a 12 or 14. In department stores like Macy's I was a size 20. I stick to "stretchy" flattering pants now since jeans & most pants in general are a nightmare. White pants can go with any light color top like peach, nude, or even an off white. You can also be risky-trendy & wear red on top of white pants since it looks bold but classy. Skirts, same. Bleach keeps them clean. When you're out and about always bring Tide To Go for stains. All the best to you too. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. 3.5 weeks post op is really early especially eating chips. You don't want to open a staple or have your stomach not heal properly. Our stomachs aren't fully healed until 8-10 weeks post op (what I read). To me carbs is comfort food. One of my problems before surgery. When I was stressed or sad all I wanted was those carbs. Since it's tough for you to find support where you live, I believe there are also online groups for Food Addicts Anonymous & Over Eaters Anonymous. Good luck! I hope it works out for you not just to lose weight but to also take care of the healing stomach. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Thank you for your suggestion. I never thought about bananas. I'll try that & it's easy for my "on the go" lifestyle. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Thanks for your reply. I didn't see any caramel premiers where I live. I bought decafe coffee & wouldn't mind trying caramel Premier with it. It actually sounds good. The ham idea is good too. Maybe I'll have a slice of ham for breakfast without the egg. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Feb 2017 sleevers - how's everyone doing post-op?
CocoNina replied to biginjapan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This week is 2 months post op for me. Still low in energy but as close to normal as I was before surgery. After puree my weight's been dropping slowly. But I'm just glad I'm losing. The 2-weeks pre-op diet is hard. Luckily, I called my nutritionist after day 4 & she told me I'm allowed to have non-starchy vegetables & sugar free jello since those are considered liquids too (check with your nutritionist first). I don't know how your recommended plan is post-op, but I had to continue liquids-only diet for four weeks. So, that's 6 weeks altogether. I do believe the 2 weeks liquid pre op diet helped me prepare for what's to come for the liquids-only 4 weeks post op. What I learned being 2 months post op now & reading the boards, is that the mind is more important after the sleeve. The sleeve is a tool. We have to control what's in our minds which are cravings, going off track, etc... I think you should talk to your nutritionist about this. She might suggest you to increase your liquid protein more or something else. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Is it just me or does anyone else have "hollow" days?
CocoNina replied to AGreenEyedWolf's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the hallow feeling the other day & made a post asking about starvation. I am 8 weeks this week but still strict on myself by not having carbs (except vegetables) You exercise a lot, I have a physical job & exercise in the gym about 2-3 times a week. That hallow feeling was me consuming very little calories & burning a lot. I'd suggest for you to keep track of your food intake & exercise. I use the "Lose It" app & it tells me how much protein, carbs, fats I've eaten & how many calories I burn through exercise, a day. Tracking everything you put in your mouth & your daily activity will give you the answer on why you have that hallow feeling. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. I still feel really big
CocoNina replied to tasharss22's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Same. 2 months post-op this week. I still feel fat & don't know where the -41 lbs were lost. But my clothes are looser & noticed my neck looks longer & boney. I think it has to do with always putting myself down before surgery. I gotta get over that & be proud of the hard work to lose these lbs I could never do it before. Hubby says " you aren't the one that has to be attracted to you" ..., WHAT?
CocoNina replied to Dknal2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
There are a lot of comments here & I didn't read them all. Sorry if it's already been said but it's YOUR body, not his. You can do whatever you want with it. He is your husband & should love you unconditionally & respect the fact that you're happier & healthier. I hope you both work it out. By the way, you look great. Keep up the good work! I agree! I started gaining weight when I was happy & comfortable in my relationship. We both love eating & drinking, that's it. I believe what also contributed to my weight gain was I eating the same portions as him. He's taller than me so he didn't gain as much as me, I'm really short. I'm not blaming him but I think sometimes people get fat because they're happy & comfortable. It's not always a tragic reason why we become fat. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. I'm a month & a few days post-op. This week, I'm on the puree phase. Since yesterday I've been craving Diet Coke & McDonald's Chicken McNuggets. I know both aren't good for me. I'm not pregnant (of course not, not allowed to be this early) & my menstrual cycle doesn't start for another 2-weeks. I haven't cheated my entire process pre & post-op. When did your head hunger stop? After almost 8-weeks of surgery dieting, I'm shocked I still have cravings. It comes & goes but I'm hoping since I'm transitioning to soft foods next week that I won't screw up & go back to my old ways. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Has anyone been hospitalized for starvation?

I'm curious. I seen posts about being hospitalized for dehydration but what about being too low on calories or not eating enough? Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Depression and withdraw.
CocoNina replied to worldneedshelp's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
This is totally normal. I had that feeling of regretting my surgery the first week because it hurt more than I imagined. I'm 7 weeks post op now & I can't believe how normal I feel again. It takes time for the brain to catch up. I admit, I miss the food I used to eat but the pain taught me to not give in. I don't want to go through all that for nothing. Hang in there. And ::hugs:: Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. Surgery date: 2/13/17 Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs). Current weight: 174.2 lbs My profile picture is not me. Has anyone been hospitalized for starvation?
CocoNina replied to CocoNina's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I asked because yesterday when I posted this I felt weird. Like I could never get enough water/liquids in because I was still thirsty & still felt hungry even after eating my sandwich meat & cheese. I had a headache yesterday. That's never happened to me these entire 7-weeks post op. I didn't know if I was starving myself or what. I spoke to my nurse this morning & put the pieces together. My job is very physical & I had a very physically exhausting day the day before. It was basically a workout at work. My legs & arms were sore. She said when you workout your body needs more protein/calories & explained in good detail what could be happening with me. It made sense. Even though I asked about malnutrition, I'm doing everything good. I never cheated (even though I respond to posts about when I can eat certain "bad" foods & I made a post asking about Halo Top Ice Cream). I'm strict on myself & it's working. I lost 47 lbs since my surgery 2/13/17. I'm happy I made the decision to choose WLS & impressed with myself for having self-control. I told myself if I can get through the 2-weeks pre op liquid only, I can get through this new lifestyle. So, yes I'm following the guidelines & talk to my nutritionist & nurse when I feel like something is usual. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. I've had self-esteem issues before surgery. Even though I'm losing weight & feel great, when I look in the mirror, I still see that fat girl. My only advice (& I tell myself this too) is to look at before & after pictures & buy an outfit I've always wanted to wear but couldn't before surgery. We've come a long way. Now, it's about learning to love ourselves & give ourselves credit for how far we've come. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. My 1st period after surgery was normal. My 2nd period after surgery was a few days late. I don't like irregularities, if this continues, I have to look at birth control options. Not really ridiculous. Yes, our stomachs got smaller but our brains are still the same. It takes a while for the brain to catch up with the stomach. The sleeve isn't a quick fix. It's learning a whole new lifestyle & habits when it comes to eating. It won't be a quick fix to "change" or "adjust" the brain right away after surgery either. I believe people make posts about missing bad food because we're only human. It's okay to miss things you can't have anymore. People shouldn't be ashamed of asking questions even if you don't like the question. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs. My doctor & I didn't discuss a goal weight. He focuses on BMI, so I looked it up myself according to my age, height, & weight. What I have on my signature is the upper range pounds of healthy for me. I'll see how I feel when I hit that goal, but I'm hoping to weigh lower than 143 lbs. Height: 5'0" Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs.
