I am quite skilled in that area too It's all fun and games until they turn the tables on you and wear one of those clasp-in-the-front bras! LOL... this is the exact style I had on when it broke. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

..... ugh the 'chub rub' with the thighs! I just got a hole and had to throw away another pair of jeans last week. That leaves me with one pair of jeans that fit currently and I'm refusing to buy more in this size. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

First Appointment!
I notice that BCBS has 6 months documented attempts at non surgical weight loss. Did your Branch of BCBS ask this as well? Just curious, as per BCBS, this will be contingent on my doc signing off on the proof I have currently of these attempts Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Not trying to scare you, but I came across a post on here where the patient cheated and the surgeon almost cancelled the surgery while she was on the table! They're able to tell. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

6 months documentation- ?
FYI for anyone in the same boat- spoke with BCBS (Ohio) again today and as long as my physician makes an assessment of my documentation and agrees that yes, I have proof of 6 continuous months... and he signs off on it, it'll be sufficient Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Secret Surgery
Hello, I can relate to you as well. When I tell people my weight, they are shocked because I 'carry it in the right places' or 'wear it well'. My waist is smaller than my chest or bottom. However, it doesn't make carrying around this extra weight okay and it doesn't make being 100 lbs overweight okay!! I've told both parents, my aunt (who will be taking care of me) my team (who I manage and it will become obvious to them, and my sister. When I told my sister, I got a horrible, awful reaction. So I've told a good amount of people, but I'm not telling any more. I'm not telling a soul on my Facebook. When people mention my weight loss, I may (at that time) decide to say something, but who knows!! The only bonus I can see in sharing is that by sharing our experiences, we may motivate others who would otherwise be too scared to try. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Considering gastric sleeve and looking for local support
My mother had gastric bypass done by Dr. Mirande in the Medford area... she's 16 years out and still speaks of how wonderful him and his staff is. Try looking into him! I remember her going to support groups as well from his office. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

6 months documentation- ?
Hello, I have BCBS- Ohio. The requirements state documentation of 6 months non-surgical attempts at weight loss. When speaking to a BCBS nurse the other day, she stated that the consistent documentation I've done of my weight loss journey on Instagram should count with doctors approval. This goes back 18 months and includes pictures of the scale, food and exercise posts. However after reading the following, I'm wondering if I'd still have to go through the formal 6 months. Thoughts? VSG and Piercings?
I originally thought the same thing, but I've noticed a few on Instagram who are able to have facial piercings left in, so it's confused me! I'll take them out if I have to, suppose this is something to ask my surgeon asap. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App They aren't doing the surgery on your face.. Well obviously. Family and friend rejection
Sounds like she's worried that instead of 20 pounds heavier than you, she'll be 120 pounds heavier. Hopefully she can educate herself about this surgery and maybe she'll join you. I agree, I do think that's what it is. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Instagram
I have an Instagram fitness account documenting my attempts at weight loss over the past 20 months. I am thinking of converting it to a VSG account as well. I've found Instagram to be the most helpful community for weight loss. Search tags like #vsg #vsgcommunity #vsgjourney and #Vsginstacrew .... I say definitely go for it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Family and friend rejection
@@logen000 I told my TWIN sister about 2 days ago and she was absolutely horrible about it... calling me a quitter, 'you're dumber than I thought', I'm giving up etc. keep in mind she's about 20 lbs heavier than myself and has not tried other methods of losing like I have! It was really really hurtful, so I understand. I've decided that I'm not going to provide her with any updates. My life. My body. My choice. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
