Hi. Congrats on ur surgery. Sorry to hear ur in pain. It gets better. Im 5 days post op sleeve. For me pain gradually subsided from day 5 into 6 waking up with no pain. Few things u need asap... gas x, stool softener, glycerin suppositories, metamucil/benefiber Fiber, bacitracin ointment, heavy lotion. Walk, it helps. Sorry ur in pain. It gets better, i promise. Im 6 days post op n today woke up and it was ZERO pain. Even i was in shock. Wont lie days1-2 were pure hell, 3 ughhh, 4 soso, 5minor aches and today 6ohsh!t no pain. Get ur gas x strips, more effective than the pain killers 4 me. You'll make it through. Lol toilet stool. I was so desperate to go at hospital and remembered Alan from 2andahalfmen. So i put the trash can in front of toilet n plopped my feet on up. Ok thanks. Im scared of the possibility of bloodclots. Im almost sure pain in my hip is from that huge strap tie down to table. I was awake for that n it was huge, tight as hell n hurt. Thanks for update. Question? How many heparin shots did u get in hospital stay? How many days until pain in ankle and calfs went away? Im 5 days post op n ankle calf pain started today. I only got 1 heparin shot that i know of while i was awake.. concerned. Pain on my right hip now also. Otherwise all else is starting to move along smoothly. When you eat the egg salad and such do you eat that alone meaning not with bread or anything...I'm also 6 days post op and so afraid to eat anything...today I branched out and ate cottage cheese and pears all pureed...I know the fruit was probably pure sugar but I ate only 2oz...I'm thinking of making broccoli and cheese but not sure how that will fly once pureed, maybe to gross looking to eat...thanks for your post Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App

Sidenote... consider going back on dilaudid since it worked in hosp but def get checked for a leak if it persists after taking the dilaudid. Good look, feel better. They gave me jello the night of my surgery so I think that depends on your surgeon. I was also allowed cottage cheese on full liquids the day after my surgery. Def agree with primum. Walking helps. It hurts at first but def. helps. I have a 1 bedroom so i feel ur pain but in total its 5 rooms. Heres a trick, picture ur house shaped like a star, pick the center of ur home, start there, walk to farthest point of room 1, back to center, end of room 2, back to center, etc... u get in alot more steps that way. 2 other things that really helped... GAS X. toned down all the gas which causes so much pain when trying to eat, drink, move, blink. COLACE... day 3 once i pooped and tooted d horn life was so much better. Day1-3 were hell, 4 was so-so, today 5- i went for a walk, total 10 blocks, no pain, mild soreness. I wouldnt feel comfortable not having a leak test.... trust me, at the hospital i was so dehydrated and cotton mouth on the 24hr post op fast b4 leak test that i would have said screw it but hindsight is 20/20.... leak test is worth it. God forbid there was a leak they couldve gone right back in n fixed it, all pain in 1 shot. Versus 50% healing, finding out later n having to get cracked open n deal with all the pain all over again. So i spoke to my Doc today and he pointed out that my pain may have been more exaggerated bec i had multiple things done, sleeve, hernia repair and gall bladder removal in one shot. To top it off mother nature has jokes and sent aunt flo day 1 post op. So surgery 3rd power plus aunt flo cramps ... that explains it. Either way, by the end of day 3 pain was tolerable. Stool softener / colace. I got the generic brand. Drank it with warm tea on day 3 - sleeve post op, miracle poop 3 hrs later. Poop #2 few hrs later. Made all the difference. Apparently alot of my pain was from clogged up pipes. Hang in there, after the poop n Finally a toot of the horn today alot of my pain has subsided. Gas X will be ur lifesaver on this journey. Im 3 days post op n started my gas x n stool softener tda. Finally passed gas below and pooped day 3... thats when i turned the corner and my 40% of my pain instantly ended. Youll be ok. Im so thankful for this forum. Reading the blogs has helped so much.
