  1. I'm a teacher and also work from home. I'm on vacation from the first till February 22 (and if I wasn't I would get a month paid leave). My surgery was last Tuesday and I plan to start working from home again tomorrow. I can rest if I need to and whenever I need to.

I am still hoping to be able to work next Monday after having the procedure Friday. I know it sounds optimistic but if it's not any worse than my gallbladder surgery I am hopeful

You need to adjust to your new eating requirements. Drinking Water is not easy the first days. I'm drinking a few sips every few minutes so I can drink all I need. Drinking my Protein shake takes half an hour, and even taking meds is time consuming. If you can't rush.

Recovery is quite fast but bending and lifting is not a good thing to do in a while. You need someone to help you with all that. You may also feeling tired because of the los calorie intake. Pain meds make me feel sleepy too and I need one or two naps.

If you have help at work and time to drink properly, you may just be fine.

  2. Yep! I believe I commented on one of your posts.

    What time is yours?

I won't find out the time until the day before the surgery. Hoping for early!

I'm asked to be there at 5:30 and surgery will be at 7. The earlier the better (because of the fast).

  3. I had to go on a diet Android lose 10% of my starting weight for my surgery to be approved.

They are a multidisciplinary team: surgeon, psychologist and nutricionist. The surgery won't take place until you've shown a radical change in your habits and a willingness to keep a healthy lifestyle for life. The surgery is just a tool, not the solution.

I had 6 meals a day, every 2-3 hs. No sugar, no fat... Lots of veggies and fruit. No mixing carbs with meat.

I never felt hungry with this. And I lost 15 kilos in 4 months. More than they asked for, but my surgery was approved and I've kept losing. Now I'm on a liquid diet and my vsg is scheduled for Jan 17.

Oh! And you need to start doing exercise!

At 3 weeks post op you should not be eating regular food yet. Soft foods.

  5. Hi! My surgery is also scheduled for this 17th! I Stoll haven't started with the Protein powder (will on Friday) but am thinking what flavour to buy. I was told vanilla works best

I am asked to get a specific brand called Prolac (I'm in Argentina). It comes in strawberry, vanilla and chocolate flavors. I was advised to get vanilla. Also chocolate if I can buy two so I don't get tired too fast. We'll see.
