  1. I am just wondering if it was this long for most people? I made my initial call on Jan 10th 2017 and I still am waiting for the dr. Office to send over for authorization. I have done all the pre authorization things, am I just being impatient?

No not really I went to my first Doctor appt late Jan and Iv already been approved for surgery for May.

  2. Congrats to you too! Yes. Definitely nervous. And anxious. I've been doing so much to prepare (reading, classes, etc), but it's still 36 days away!!!!! I feel like the wait is just empty time to worry. I've run out of "to do" items and now it's just waiting. I'm hoping the next 36 days fly by. But the nerves definitely get worse the closer I get.

I know right!!! Tell me about it! All I can do is worry!! Researching as well but Iv researched so much already. Now Im just getting anxious. Wondering if I should really do this?

  3. I took very little and did way more prep work at home.

Hospital bag: hair brush and ties, toothbrush and paste, cellphone and charger. The hospital provided everything I needed for comfort. I wore really loose comfy clothes there and wore that same comfy clothes home.

I bought a pack of plastic 2 oz containers with lids from costco. At home I had my shakes prepped and in two oz containers. I made up small sf Jell-O shots:-) premeasured 2 oz of Water in same containers. The first couple days 2 oz at a time is all you can manage and it's easy to count Fluid intake if premeasured. Not to mention wanting to rest and on pain meds. Gas-x was a lifesaver. My surgeon had me on an acid reflux bed for two weeks (Nexium) and it helped tremendously.

I cleaned the heck out of my house, prepackaged my son's lunches for school for a week, and ordered everyone to prepare to be on their own for dinner (hubby stepped up to the plate).

All that prep was worth it. My first week home was comfortable and I could concentrate on my recovery.

    Good luck.

Thank you such great advice things I didn't even think of.
