Afraid of getting saggy skin
BabyNicole replied to BabyNicole's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
For me saggy skin doesn't outway the concern for my health, etc. b/c if it did I wouldn't be concidering the lap band...or losing weight for that matter! :w00t: I'm already self conscience about the way I look, and I don't want to be more self conscience after I'm "thin." And even though everyone may not state it, I'm sure many are concerned with looking soaking wet all the time. But, to each his own. BTW, yes, I do have some stretchmarks on my tummy b/c I gained weight so fast after being on Jenny Craig. :scared2: I've never had a child, though. I will eat right and excersize in the hopes to minimize my saggy skin. -
I'm sorry you are not one of the success stories. But regardless if you're fat or thin, please go see someone about your suicidal thoughts. So many people would miss you if you were gone. HUGS to you!!!

I disagree. This "tool" is going to be in your body and if you feel more comfortable with one than the other you should have the decision. If you see a surgeon who only uses the Lap Band, and you want Realize, then I say choose another reputable surgeon. Now, telling the surgeon not to use a Trocar, thatn would be ridiculous, as that is a tool. JMHO PS. FYI...I spoke to a mechanic today b/c I need my Lincoln fixed (my cousin hit me in my driveway while I wasn't even driving). I made sure that he used authentic Lincoln parts; because if I didn't like his fake "tools" I wouldn't go to him.

Congrats! I hope I get approved that fast!:tongue_smilie:

Where Do You Find Surgeon Ratings/Reviews?
BabyNicole replied to derbygirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I found info at Obesity Help - Weight Loss Surgery, Obesity Support Groups, Obesity Forums, Surgical Procedures. -
So glad you are doing well! Hey, BTW, where do I get lab work done?
-
1.) Oxford 2.) New Jersey 3.) Employer 4.) I haven't seen the surgeon yet (but Oxford approves 40+ BMI without medical direction)

Wow. 75% of LBTers now have reflux. My surgeon said that a lot of people who have reflux (as I do already and am on Nexium) before getting banded have it go away. Looking at these results, I don't know how true that is. :huh2:

My first PB...while driving, too!

Thank you for the info! Wonderful, out my nose. Can't wait. :sneaky: -
My first PB...while driving, too!
BabyNicole replied to gingerbug's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks. So where is this slime produced? :sneaky: -
My first PB...while driving, too!
BabyNicole replied to gingerbug's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm still not 100% sure what PBing is. :sneaky: Is it slime before you vomit? Can the PB cause band slippage? Do you gag when you PB? -
I was going to say the same thing. I am on a lot of forums (mostly Yorkie related) and there is a lot of bitching going on. That is only natural and the way a lot of us express ourselves. Plus, when we bitch we want support...that's what we are here for! Also, take your own advice-if you don't want to hear complaining, don't finish reading the posts. PS. If I want to be fat and annoying or skinny and annoying, that's my prerogative. Life is not so wonderful for everyone you know. Congrats if yours is! Edited to say: This person is obviously a troll. They are logged on (but not posting) probably laughing at their "doing." There are trolls on all boards. (sigh)

I'm a teacher, so if I get insurance approval, I will go in June or July. Anyone out there waiting until then? :biggrin2:

Poll: What shall we call ourselves?
BabyNicole replied to Bizzy Bee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That IS cute! I didn't officially vote b/c my surgery won't be until June or July (if I get approved). I'm a teacher and have off in the summer. -
Video Blog... I'm an Advertisement!
BabyNicole replied to jnbwilds's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats! You look so great! And in such a short amount of time...it's amazing! -
I'm assuming since there is a camera inside you the surgeons also videotape the procedure. Do you know if they'd give you a copy if you asked? Did anyone ever ask? If so, what did they say? If they say no, I would think the reason they wouldn't would be for insurance purposes.

The video of your procedure...
BabyNicole replied to BabyNicole's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. I've actually seen some on YouTube, I just wanted mine as a "souvenir" as the person above you mentioned. Just in case I start to gain weight...BAM put the video in to remind me what I went through. -
Please have a look at these Dollar Tree pg test
BabyNicole replied to saravalintine's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Honey, I wouldn't trust Dollar Tree tests. Sorry, JMHO. Good luck, though! -
Thanks everyone for all these pictures. I saw someone with staples. It was in 2005. I was wondering if that's still the norm or is it mostly sutures now?

Can you name 1, or 2 things you would love to do once you reach your goal?
BabyNicole replied to mstrina27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wear tighter clothes. Oh wait, I thought I was already doing that. LOLOL  -
Thank you!!! :cursing: PS. Thanks also to the admin who made the B & N in my username capitalized.
