  1. This was supposed to be a good place to discuss everything about WLS and that is why I joined yestersay, but there are so many users who just jump all over anyone who makes the slightest mistake or unknowingly posts something that triggers a freaking avalanche of users. This isn't a discussion forum at all.

I'm feeling sorry for ever thinking I could use this app.

This "matching" user is a habitual attacker. Negative Nancy for real!

  2. Safe space? Are you kidding? Nothing safe about eating off plan post op. Nothing safe about sharing the thought process that being a "little rebellious" is ok. To me, this puts all the lurkers and those doing pre-op research in a really dangerous position. You (general/plural) are giving yourself justification/permission to "cheat" "just a little".

It's not cute, it's not funny (looooool) and it's not safe.

No judgement. It's your body. Just offering my opinion.

Ugh. Cranky much? Don't attack me. This is how I deal.

You obviously deal by trolling. Yuck ????

  3. PS: I didn't know Soup came with a little loaf of bread! I licked all over it and chewed on a corner like a dog with a bone, then tossed it out the window. Had to be a sight for the lady riding next to me

    I've got no words...
I'm not one of those chew and spit food people. I just found some bread in my bag and it's been several weeks since I've had any. Never had it from Panera and I just wanted to taste it.

And that vivid description came after the fact, in hindsight. I'm thinking that's what anyone witnessing it would have perceived.

You licked it, gnawed on it and then littered with it.

Have you considered counseling to help you with your food urges?

Yea. I'm sitting in my surgeons office now and a referral is on my questions list. Although I don't think I had a "food urge" I made conscious decision. I have a house full of food, including several types of my favorite breads. I just wanted to know what Panera breads little loaf tasted like. Geez.

PS: I slowed down and tossed it into a waste drain.

I really don't get the point in posting stuff like this online. You are an adult. What is the point of confessing to strangers?

    The app is the point.

What's the point of posting your comment?

  5. However, if you can stomach things I really don't see a problem.

Sorry, I think this is pretty bad "advice." It's like telling someone it's okay to walk in front of a moving train because you did it and didn't get hit. Just because you didn't have a discernible problem, doesn't mean the rules aren't there for very good reason - to keep people from having serious complications.

I started this thread with the intention of confession, not coercion.

I think the rules are very sound and should be followed.

Just putting my experiences out there open and honestly.

  7. I try to get out and about but I don't have anything to hold my stomach with besides my hand and it hurts real bad I get up and walk around the house but if I turn the wrong way that pain shoots right thru the big incision and it makes me not want to move

Walmart has these panty girdles (up to 3X for sure, maybe bigger. Get the loose one, it's more meshy, the tight one feels more smooth (hard to explain). Get a size up if you can.

Or I've heard people say binders. Or those Walmart work out pants that are high wasted. That's what I've been doing. I'm gone put on my girdle tomorrow. I'll let you know.

Medicare and rest. Try again tomorrow.

  8. I haven't broken my liquid diet yet but I just wanna comment that I really really want tacos right now. :(

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When I feel hungry I want all the food. But it isn't too intense.

I just know that if I don't have those few spoons of full liquids I'll feel deprived. I'm a natural born rebel so if I'm feeling like that I'll do something stupid like eat some waffle fries and chic fil a sauce. So I dip my toes in the Water.

Now I'm not suggesting you eat tacos but spooning the juice off some chicken tortilla Soup probably won't hurt. See. Im just a little bad.

However I never push my body too far and you probably should just hang in there

  9. I am 25, have pcos, had vsg over 6 months ago and have lost 76 pounds. My periods are very irregular. Anyone else in my situation have success getting pregnant?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'd think it's too soon to get pregnant. My surgeon and the entire surgical center staff tested and stressed about pregnancies really hard.

    Can have complications.

  10. I cried and had a panic attack immediately after waking up. Haven't cried since. I was sleeved 12/29. Progressively better. I think it was all the up, out, and about I've been doing. I drove the next day. Been out every day since. Went back to work today! My bio glue doesn't thank me for it but I haven't been in pain, 2 days no meds of any kind.

My stomach actually growled today! But I haven't experience too much smell nausea. And YES! family will taunt you, not really maliciously but they can't understand what you are going through and they wanna see you react.

This forum is here for you.

    It gets better.

Deep breaths. Short walks. Sip sip sip.

  11. I advanced my diet earlier as well. My tastes changed and could not handle the almost pure-chemical taste of my shakes. My diet book lists pureed cottage cheese as a liquid, so I started with that and then increased the consistency until it was normal chunks that I just chewed really well. That was day 4 pre-op. From there I tried refried Beans on day 5, no problem. I stuck with those for a few days, didn't want to push it too far. Day 9 I tried a fluffy scrambled egg with cheese. Couldn't eat more than half, but it felt fine going down. Day 11 I bought some juicy turkey and pureed with a light ranch and BBQ Sauce. 8 oz meat made 6, 2.5 oz meals. I tried very little to test and it was a success. I cannot eat very much, less than 1.5 oz but it was good.

I did push myself today and it was not great. My grandparents took my to a sandwhich shop and I was too shy to say anything. I took 2 small bites of just meat and cheese and chewed forever. It was a bit too much all at once.

However, if you can stomach things I really don't see a problem. Listen to your body. If you have a bad reaction, go back to liquids for a few days. Also ask your surgeon as well. Mine was fine with me exploring foods.

    Cautionary and confirmatory.

I stopped with the broccoli and cheddar Soup because I didn't like it. Since the original post I was all clear liquid.

Today, like just now, I tried Panera bread Tomato Soup. Tasty but was chunky so I wrapped it up until I can strain it at home. I'm due to start full liquids tomorrow, and like 3 spoons fill me up so I'm going with it. I'll be easily compliant on soft foods as I have tons of veggie recipes, my mother in law is vegetarian from India (cauliflower rice is the bomb.com)

I've been feeling well today. I finished an entire short coffee..over about 3 hrs, but hey. An entire 8oz Water bottle in about an hr. And I got down half a bottle of premier, until my stomach started growling and I started craving a foodie flavor.

  12. Hi, wanted to Thank all those back after I had my sleeve surgery on 09/19/16 & 09/23/16 my husband left me. The we'll wishes really got me through some had times cause would read them when I needed a boost. I originally thought he left due to a drug issue. I thought we would work out if he got help but didn't work out that way. I found out by doing some investing that over our last 3 1/2 years of part-time nursing school -he cheated on me while in class at night after working full time, & on clinical weekends with multiple women. I really struggled after finding this out for awhile with getting Vitamins every day, enough Water, but did Protein drinks for Breakfast & still do for Protein amount. I got through things & doing so much better. I found out Friday also that I will be graduating nursing school. I work with claims dept for the hospital I had surgery at now. I hoping that after I pass my state exam I when take in few months I can get,a job on the baratric floor for surgery patients. I would love that even more then anything. I am writing this update so if anybody else loses their spouse after surgery -keep chin up because it will get better. Sleeve surgery on 09/19 was one of the best decision of my life. I filed for divorce & he signed papers last week, graduating nursing school from long part-time road, & am down around 50 pounds since surgery. I feel better then I have in such a long time -it is amazing how surgery can change your life for the better. I enjoy exercising, walking dogs & energy level is so much higher now. Plus hearing how well you look from others is huge boost to everyone. I hope nobody ever has to go through what I went through, but if anything hard happens in your life post surgery hang in there. Hang in there, keep chin up because trust me your life & overall health will get better & what a blessing in the changes. I do feel very, very blessed in my life again.

  14. I'm day four, tomorrow is day five and I'm going to work! I'm excited.

I've done well health wise. Didn't need gas x or nausea meds, and I just room first and only dose of pain meds. I also pooped today! Increased my liquids and resolved my mind to do the right things.

I truly believe you feel better each day, walking works/helps and so does support. If you are not feeling better each day, outside of particular side issues, something might be wrong.

I see the Dr. day after tomorrow and will report how work and that visit goes.

    Stay encouraged. Stay health.

  15. NSV! I'm going on 4 weeks out and I have a NSV to share! My rings are loose! I didn't think my fingers would shrink so fast, but so be it.

What are some NSV's you guys are having?

I've had the same experience as you.

I'm 4 days post op but did a week of liquids and now my wedding band is loose. The same band that started squeezing me so tight I could only take it off at opportune times.

    It feels good.
