    Top Chef

I like watching Cooks Vs Cons and some of the baking series. None of the food looks appetizing to me though so that helps otherwise I don't think I could watch them.
  2. I'm just about 3 months out and have found that I have thrown up more than I'd like. After surgery I was vomiting a lot. Now I've also found if I've eaten too much or too fast I'll vomit. So I'm learning to slow down etc. But I also find that just about any type of meat makes me vomit no matter how well I chew or how slowly I eat. I think my sleeve just hates me sometimes but my surgeon doesn't seem concerned. I e spoken with him a few times about it and all the nausea I have each day. So not sure what else to do as he offers no meds to help with nausea. Just tells me to tough it out and it'll get better.
  3. Doing better. Sleeved 2-8. Finally on regular food but find I can't handle any type of meat very well. So still having trouble with hitting protein goals. I'm still nauseated every day but surgeon told me basically suck it up. Offered no anti nausea meds or anything. Same with the diarrhea problem. He said to expect stools to be loose the rest of my life. Not sure I believe him though. On the plus side I broke the 300 mark and am 299!!! I still go between 301 and 299 so I think I've plateaued. But overall I think I'm doing better!
  4. I'm still learning this lesson. It will be like I'm starving and will eat a bit too fast and wham! Here comes the pain.
  5. I was sleeved February 8th. Been experiencing diarrhea and nausea multiple times a day, every day for a week. Is this normal as you progress your diet to normal foods?
  6. I miss food. Real food. I was sleeved 2/8/17 and have had a hard time transitioning to puréed. Nausea, feeling pains in the chest and left side. I want real food and have tried various foods but guess my stomach is still swollen. So they said back to full fluids for a while. I never thought it would be this hard to get my fluids and Protein in each day. All the shakes are disgusting and I just can't get them in the way I should. Has anyone else gone through this? Does it get easier at all? Guess I've hit the regret stage. I dream about food every night. And all I see if real food everywhere I look and it's just so disheartening.

    Struggling

Will have to look into the Atkins stuff. I've had some Fairlife chocolate milk which I love, but worry about the sugar in it.

    Vivid dreams?

I started dreaming about food about a month pre-op. I'm two weeks out of surgery and I'm still dreaming of eating. Last night it was Wendy's fries and some nachos lol.
  9. I was sleeved on Feb 8th. I started my purée a few days early as I felt like I was starving lol. I miss real food. But have been doing a bit better. Still not hitting all my water and protein goals. Just can't stand the drinks anymore. I do drink some chocolate fairlife milk which has 19 g of protein. I find I'm craving carbs and not sure why. I'm trying to stay away from them but that doesn't always work. Other than that I'm doing well. Down to 317 with sw of 350. So I feel good.

    Blood thinner shots

Just finished my week course of the at home shots. I never did them before but it really wasn't that bad. Then again needles don't bother me a lot either. Just getting through the first one was the hardest.
  11. I have the same problem. The DR said it's probably because that's the side he took the stomach out on.
  12. Was sleeved on the 8th. Super nauseous and dry heaves like crazy in the hospital. I did my walks and felt better but wow did not expect that. Now that I'm home I find my back hurts like crazy and I think it's from the coughing I'm doing. Struggling to get my protein and liquids in though. Hoping it gets a bit easier as the days go by. Right now it's hard to get my walks in as I feel dizzy a lot. So I do a few minutes at a time.
  13. Mine is the 8th as well and I'm starting to feel the nerves. Lol My family asks if it feels real yet and it's starting to. I think it will really sink in when I get the call on Tuesday afternoon for the time they want me to come in Wednesday. Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Body image

My therapist said that's very normal. She said that our weight is a big part of our identity so it's going to take longer for us to "see" the results as opposed to others seeing it. She suggested taking pictures throughout the journey because it's easier to see the loss in comparing them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I really like the Premier Protein rtd shakes of chocolate and banana cream. And surprisingly the Carnation Instant Breakfast sugar free powder mix isn't bad either. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I know this might sound silly, but yesterday I went to the store and almost had a breakdown. Lol I'm one week in to my two week pre op diet. I had no idea how hard walking through the store would be! All my old fave Snacks calling me, and everything looked so yummy. I made it through without buying anything off list and it felt like a huge victory. I just wonder if it will get easier. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  19. Hi everyone. I start my pre-op diet in two days and have had a horrible week food wise. It's like everything suddenly looks good and I feel ravenous and want to eat it all and in some cases I do. I've been doing so good and suddenly I'm falling into my old habits. I really want the sleeve to work and I want a new chance at life but I feel like I've already failed. Has anyone else gone through this? What has helped you stay the course? What Multi Vitamin best?

I've been using Optisource chewable Vitamins. You only need to take 1 pill 4 times a day. And you get what you need. My NUT said it would be the easiest to manage. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. This is how mine was too and was only allowed like 2 hours to finish everything. Then I talked with the psychiatrist, well the intern, for an hour. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    No psych eval?

I've been on depression and anxiety meds for a number of years. I had also been suicidal a few years ago. Things have gotten better with therapy and med adjustments and they cleared me for surgery. Just be open and honest with them. That's all you can do. Good luck! You can do this!
