    Newbie

Kim, go to your insurance website and they should have the requirements for wls approval there. You should also be able to ask your doctors office if the are familiar with ALL of the requirements by your insurance company. Better to know before finding out last minute you missed something. A friend of mine had a 6 month wait, went through the entire process and had to restart as on two of his supervised appointments were in the same mont. Insurance required 6 consecutive months. He was not too happy, but had to start over.

High blood pressure, cholesterol, Apnia, diabetes
  3. Everyone will be different. You need to go by what your body tells you. You will know when enough is enough. Take multiple short walks if you want or can tolerate.
  4. My nutritionist and svurgeon both advised against.

    So angry today!!

I know what you mean Mandi! I am sooooo ready to chew something, (other than my d vitamins!). Lucky for me today tho, my wife is making homemade chicken noodle soup as our daughter is sick, so I will get some really good broth. Nutritionist tells me next Thursday I can begin to add yogurt! Woo pie! Solids will be here soon, keep strong, we can do it![emoji109]

    New to dating

I couldn't agree more with go walking! She is right. You will at some point need to tale the bull by the horns. Building up your own confidence will make a tremendous difference. In addition to talking with your therapist, get involved with more social opportunities like toastmasters, after hours events, community service, etc. this may give you the opportunity to continually introduce yourself to new people and increase your confidence in yourself. You got this! [emoji123]
  7. At first, very little, but just keep trying a small sip at a time. Each day try to increase a bit more. Before you know it, you'll be getting it all in. It's a marathon, so just try to pace yourself. YOU GOT THIS! [emoji123][emoji1]

    Meal ideas

Shelley, scrambled eggs are fine. There are a lot of things that you can have during the purée stage. Someone suggested this site in another forum and it is great! Check out http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ When you get to the site, on the left side are links, look for the link for soft and puréed food stage. There are several ideas and recipes. The way I see it, if it is high protein and you can blend/purée it, you can eat it. Also, someone suggested baby foods as well, already puréed, 0 sugars and high protein!

    Day 5 Post Op

An as, you need to call your surgeon immediately! You should not be vomiting blood. Not to mention getting dehydrated. Praying for a quick recover.
  10. I too have no issues telling anyone. I know that there may be some that will, and have had a negative viewpoint on it, however I remind that the path I have taken over the past 20 years which included multiple swings of weight loss but still resulted in higher BP, cholesterol, Apnia, back pain, low energy, early stage diabetes...I also share that this was/is not a quick fix but another tool for me to finally stay consistent and become a healthier individual. Of course, they can agree to disagree but at the end of the day I have done what was in MY best interest & lovin it!

    Exercise!

Walk, walk walk, then walk some more. It is the best thing following surgery. If you have a Fitbit, join a group of other vsg'rs to do step challenges. ( I have a weekend challenge going on now) If you don't have one, consider getting one. It will really help you keep focused on your walking. Some even have excercize so on them to keep you motivated (Blaze Fitbit) Your doctor will tell you when it is safe to resume exercise, ( I can't wait as I'm just over a week since surgery, but feeling great!) If you have a Fitbit and want to friend me I'm at vban@charter.net, good luck and speedy recovery!

    Surgery tomorrow

Biotene for dry mouth, cenacle spray for sore throat, slippers and a bathrobe. I brought my phone and tablet, but never used them as I spent all my time walking the halls (walking as much as possible was the best advice I was given, and say the same to those going in now.)

    Sleep apnea testing right now

I knew in a couple days, don't worry you will be ok either way. Good thing to catch now, it will make a HUGE difference for sleeping! Down the road after surgery you may no longer need it too. Good luck!

    Diet Coke

You need to forget about the carbonated beverages! Didn't your surgeon go through this with you? It expands your stomach and can do damage as well. You've come this far, stay focused, you can get past the urges!

    Diet Coke

NO! Walk a lot, stairs, or hot water bottle, maybe some Miralax, but no carbonated.
  16. Next week! That's great! Keep us posted on your progress.

  20. Congratulations lambs! While it may be a few days being uncomfortable and with pain, remember each day gets a little bit better and easier. And when things feel like they're not moving fast enough, remember all the things that brought you here and the impressive obstacles you overcame to get here, then think how fast it seems to have gone by!

    Sleeved on Wednesday! Normal pains?

Sounds like gas. Keep walking, and getting the gas out (attic or cellar)it will get better. A good bm will really help too probably

    No support at home

Can you share a bit more about how they are not supporting? I know you said they are try to force you to eat things you shouldn't (that's your decision ultimately) , but what is their reasoning? They just may be worried more about risks than rewards. When I first started my journey, none of my mamilla, friends even co workers were happy about it. They all gave the reason, "it's too drastic, it's too dangerous, you can do it by exercising more and just don't eat so much ( brilliant! Like I never thought or tried that. I'm gonna be 50 soon, have struggled for years with my weight, lose 10 gain 15-20. High blood pressure, cholesterol, smoker, Apnia and diabetes. So I started to rebuke their claims by pointing out if I didn't do something I would probably be dead in a few years anyway, this was not an easy decision but it was mine to make not theirs. Over the past year, going through the process, I am now smoke free, and 50 lbs. already, told I will probably be off my cholesterol, blood pressure and insulin later this year, as well as the CPP! It was not overnight, and through the process they saw my commitment to the lifestyle change for the better and slowly turned their negativity to now being my biggest supporters.

    Lost as hell [emoji17][emoji19]

Three weeks to eating anything sounds pretty fast to me. I have clear liaises and protein shakes for three weeks (can add yogurt at start of week 3). Then three weeks of purée/soft protein, then allowed to regular. I agree with Vinasu, take your time, your body will let you know.
