  1. I ended up with the sleeve because of too much scar tissue. However, I'm glad it turned out that way. I struggled much with protein and water intake. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  2. Still adjusting. As a whole I keep my diet meals always available. However, when I do eat what I cook... I stick with the protein and avoid starch. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

Who will you tell that you are having WLS?

I personally don't think it's anyone's buisness. However, if for whatever reason that topic somehow was to come up, I would freely talk about it as long as the conversation remains descent. First sign of being insulting..... the convo is stopped abruptly never to be rehashed again. Don't have time to play with people about my life or my decisions! 5. 2 months out.... Size 8 would be my ideal size. My husband would say that's too small. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

    Just so confused...

I feel you... However, it's about adapting to the change we all made when we chose the weightloss surgery. Our body is not nor will it ever be the same. Learn as much as you can and embrace the choice you've made. Then and only then will you enjoy the journey/course you're on for the rest of your life. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

  14. Protein and water in. While fighting my stomach ( puking and nausea) all the way. Risk for me is too high. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  15. Right now I would have to say.... Absolutely not! 2 months out and I just don't like the mental struggles. There is such a great responsibility in making sure you get all your protein and water in to avoid serious health issues, all while fighting with your stomach to cooperate with that needed intake( nausea and puking) it's just to risky for me. Yes there are benefits.... free from gerd, no more border line diabetes, or high blood pressure. Right at 40 pounds down. If this was just about my ability to stick to the plan, I would feel totally different about that question. However, that's not the case for me at all. Sleeve Surgery while Breastfeeding

Please remember people react to this surgery differently. Some suffer and need pain meds while others don't. Also, some have trouble getting in Protein, and liquids while others don't. The biggest thing in all of this is..... No one can tell you how your body will respond. When I woke up with no pain, I thought someone was playing a trick on me. However, as the days and weeks went by my stomach began rejecting all Protein drinks (which is vital) I'm yet learning how to make adjustments as I cater to this sleeve. I take all my vitamines and protein. I found out yesterday that my vitamine B1 is extremely low. I knew something was wrong because a flight of stairs zapped all my energy. The greatest advise from my prospective is to have a good Dr. and a good team whenever you do decide to do the surgery. If I had to do it all over again I would choose a different place all together. Sabotaging myself?

It's important to set bounderies, that people may understand when/before they've crossed the line. The purpose of bounderies is to help people to respect your choices in life concerning you. That's not to say be harsh, which is what we as a people have a tendency to do when we let people push us to our limits. Bounderies will help you avoid being pushed period, and consequently not leaving you in a state of reqret for angry words said. Your bonderies will affect those that are close(mom, sister and so on) as well as haters and new people. Example: Mom I know you don't agree with this surgery, and please know I understand your love for me is concerned about something going wrong. That's what moms do, so your feelings are in tact. However, I need you and I to agree to disagree about this and go on from here. Take this time to trust what you've taught me in my life will produce good decisions.... Peaceful conversation more than not will bring a greater bond and a awesome support team. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
