@KateBruinLiquid gabapentin is like **** directly from satans ass hole. I take all my meds in solid pill form just over a long period of time.
Still no poo [emoji23] on day three of Miralax. Contemplating the murder and BBQ of my adorable dog.
Reading this is funny, the visual is hilarious.

Can't really offer advice because I am not telling anyone. Only my mother, my husband, and 1 of my cousins who had the sleeve himself and was in the same situation as I am now. Hang in there and don't let the naysayers influence you [emoji1417]
Only my husband knows. As time goes forward, I'm still very glad I told no one else.

My surgeon also told me no gum. Guess it doesn't digest quickly or completely if accidentally swallowed so can create difficulties. Even after 5 years, it is still strongly discouraged.

My BCBSi insurance used my first weigh in number and then I needed to lose % of weight.
Call your insurance and find their requirements.

@nifty22
So glad you are calling your doctor. As one responder replied, be honest about about your surgery. At my 2 week checkup, I was healed.
Keep us posted on your condition. You definitely have an infection.

If anyone knows of another app, I too would switch! I asked a question recently about having a few sips of wine at my wedding in a month (I'd be 4 months post op) and you would have thought I asked about politics! I got a few people making polite suggestions but others just ripped into me about how stupid I am for even asking this!!
I came here for support and answers to questions I am curious about but aren't worthy of a call to the doctor and would like to help others the same way!! Feel free to message me if you'd like...I'm not a genius but I'd like to think my experience can help others [emoji846][emoji846]I had my first close encounter with dumping syndrome today. For those who have never experienced it, let me warn you... Nothing, no amount of literature, absolutely nothing prepares you for the sheer horror that is dumping syndrome. Worst part is that there's nothing you can do about it, you just have to ride it out on your own... The pain, the tears... Wow... I was not expecting it!
I'm sorry you had to go through this [emoji20] feeling better now?

@Melissa315, I am sorry you were attacked for asking a question about having some wine at your wedding. Unfortunately that is one of the hot buttons here.Oh it was horrific. I just had another round of vomiting and it was not fun at all! I don't ever want to experience this again!

Of course your doctor is your best source for an answer. Everyone tolerates wine and alcohol differently. I am almost 5 years out, and my stomach will not tolerate either. Even a sip burns so badly it feels like a knife sticking me.
Please don't give up on the group; it does have many answers. Please feel free to private message me for any questions. I'm not sure what surgery you had--I had the sleeve. No matter what WLS you had the problems and questions exist for all of us. Best wishes in your journey. Don't hesitate to contact me. [emoji3][emoji780] [emoji736]

Duke is a top notch hospital and you will be in good hands. I lived in Fayetteville NC when I had my surgery about 5 years ago.
I would gladly be a friend for your journey. Not sure where you are in the process, but feel free to private message me or respond here. Look forward to hearing from you.

I am almost 5 years out. Thought my maintenance set point waa 160# and that is where I stayed for about 2 years. Then in January of this year I started dropping weight to my current 140#. Have not changed my eating habits so guess my body decides on a lower set point.
I had the sleeve as I did not want to deal with the low absorption, all the Vitamins, and having my plumbing rerouted. I have lost a total of 150#.

Only my husband knows, and 5 years after surgery he is still the only one. I have told no one else as I don't want the snide comments.

Best wishes for an effortless recovery. My sleeve is one of the best decisions I ever made. I have lost 150# and am still maintaining nearly 5 years out.

@NavyMom2006
I had a 2 year honeymoon period so was very lucky on that. An illness kept me mostly bedridden for awhile and I detoured somewhat from healthy eating and picked up 30#. I stepped on the scale after a few months and remember sliding down the wall in sobbing tears. Knew my jeans were getting tight but not that much.
I went back to basics and began Protein first and logging my food. Took 6 months but I lost the 30# plus another 20 over the next year and have maintained since. I am slightly over 4.5 years out.
Best wishes on your journey.

I lost so steady the first 3 months then went on a 3 month, yes month, stall during which time I had pneumonia so I wasn't eating much for a couple of weeks.
Nothing I did would budge the scale more than a pound each way. Then one day when I weighed in I had dropped 6# and never had another stall so guess my body did the stalls all at once. Stay with the plan. It can be discouraging at times but it does work.
