  1. You actually don't even need to buy the dispenser. You can just dump the powder in a couple ounces of Water and shake to dissolve it. Also, their customer service is PHENOMENAL! My first order got messed up, and when I reached out to the company, the owner called me back directly. They had someone hand deliver my shipment at the end of that work day!

  2. I lost 10lbs the week after surgery. I am now in the 3rd week, and haven't lost anything for the last 2 weeks! I actually gained 2 lbs, and lost them back, but haven't gone down since my 1 week post op. I am going to weigh myself this weekend, and expect to see a drop on the scale. This happens, and is necessary for your body to repair itself and get used to each new stage that you are in. I am not freaking out about it yet, but if I go another couple weeks without losing anything, I will probably start to get anxious about it.

  3. @"Sleeveforme2017", you can read more about them here on their website: https://gettespo.com/
They are a bit pricey, but they taste good, and they have been easy on my stomach, both pre-op and post-op. I prefer liquid vitamins to any others because there are no fillers or additives that other Vitamins have. Plus I believe that they are more easily digestible. I have just never been able to find a liquid version that tasted good. The Tespo ones are really good. The multivitamin tastes like orange Tang, and the bariatric one tastes a little fruity. I don't now what to compare it to, but it is not a bad taste at all.

  4. @"lauraf", the restriction is quite fascinating. I kept telling my husband that I didn't think they took a portion of my stomach at all since liquids were so easy. Soft foods changed that feeling. I was so worried that I would still be able to eat whatever, and NOPE! Even if I wanted to, I can't fit more than 2oz at a meal right now.

  5. @"anonmom", it is so important to measure and weigh your food. Our minds play tricks on us. I started soft foods 1 week post-op (my surgeon does not require 2 weeks of liquid and then purée before soft). I have measured my food from the day I could start eating soft food, and I have to say that I am so glad I do measure it. I sometimes find that I finish my meal, and then I want to eat a little more. However, when I wait a little bit, and then drink when I am able to, that desire or hunger to eat more goes away. I have never been a person who measures or weighs my food, but I find hat it is mandatory now. We only get this 1 year "honeymoon" period, and I am using it to teach myself to commit to measuring and weighing foods, because obviously, my eyes don't do such a good job with Portion Control.

  6. I went back and forth between being excited and being anxious. The night before, I was literally giving my husband instructions on what to do if I died! 3 weeks later, and here I am 10lbs lighter, and a total of 8.5 inches lost! I have actually lost 25lbs total since starting my pre-op diet, but only 10 of that has been post-op. It is definitely an emotional roller coaster. You can push through it! When they are prepping you for the surgery, if you are really anxious, I have been told that they can give you something to help calm you down.

  7. @"Diva T", when I was drinking just fluids, it felt like I didn't even have surgery done. I had hardly any restriction. When I got approved to eat cottage cheese, I felt restriction immediately. Some things, like yogurt and applesauce, go down pretty easily. Even mashed sweet potatoes go down pretty easy. However, well cooked spaghetti squash was a little difficult. I just started eggs and Beans today. I had no problems with the eggs at all, but then I had refried Beans with a little sour cream, and those sat pretty heavy in my stomach. They sure were delicious though. And the best part...I could only eat about 2oz! Over time, we should be able to eat about 4oz at a meal. My tummy does feel swollen in general. For example, I can tell that my pants are getting looser to the point that I can probably go down one size, but the waist is still a little snug. I think this is just because my stomach is still swollen from the surgery. Any discomfort I have had from food is really temporary. Sometimes I feel like if I had eaten just one bite less, I would not have the discomfort. Fortunately, I have not vomited at all, and have tolerated each new food really well.

  8. I am 18 days post op, and I also had a sleeve and a pretty significant hiatal hernia repair. I have had pressure in my chest off and on since the surgery. I have not had any problems with swallowing though, or feeling full that quickly. I can eat about 2oz of whatever it is I'm eating before feeling full. When I asked my doctor about the chest pain, and asked at what point I should worry, they said to watch for not being able to swallow, shortness of breath or fever. I find that I have struggled trying to differentiate between chest pain I should worry about, and chest pain that is maybe gas or muscular in nature. As long as I haven't had those other symptoms, I have been trying not to worry. I definitely think that you should call your doctor. If for nothing else, just to put your mind at ease.

  9. Everything is progressing really well. I have small pains every once and a while internally beneath my incisions, but nothing that even requires pain medication. I am progressing through my food phases well, and I was able to eat 1/2 a scrambled egg this morning with a sprinkle of cheddar cheese. It tasted so good! I haven't lost any weight this week, which I kind of expected. I have lost 25 lbs since I started my pre-op diet, so I am ok with a stall right now. Can't wait to start really working out so I can start building some muscle.

I still have dermabond glue on a few of my incisions, but it has fallen off a couple, and they look really good. I will post a picture once all of the glue falls off.

  10. I use Tespo Vitamins. You can buy them without buying the fancy dispenser. They are liquid, and they taste really good. liquid vitamins are typically pretty disgusting, but I love my Tespo Vitamins. I use the combination of the women's Multivitamin, and the bariatric Vitamin. You can read more about them at https://gettespo.com/

  11. The single incision seems gimmicky to me. Yes it would be nice to have one less incision, but they have not hurt terribly bad. I am 2 weeks post op, and they don't really bother me at all. Plus, that's a lot of instruments in one port if you go with the single incision. I would imagine it would be very tender afterwards with everything taking place in one port. With the multiple incisions, each instrument is placed with a specific purpose, and I agree that it gives the surgeon more precision.
