  1. You need to call your insurance agency and ask them exactly what you need before scheduling your surgery. Mine does not require approval for the surgery, but it does require a pre-certification for the hospital stay. They said I will not get an approval letter for that. It is just for the hospital to submit, which I have confirmed that they have done.

  2. It truly is mind over matter. Your body really does not need more for this short time. You may feel like you are starving at times, but you can get through it. This is just a test of your will power at this point. If you feel yourself getting ready to cheat, just drink some Water, go for a walk, do ANYTHING to distract you. It does get better.

  3. Info 8 oz of broth and mix one scoop of the powder with it while it is cool. I shake it in a shaker bottler so that it gets mixed really well. Then I pour it in to a coffee cup and heat it up. It makes he broth look kind of milky, but it really doesn't change the flavor of the broth all that much. If you add it after you heat the broth, you risk it clumping and getting gross when you try to mix it.

  4. My surgery is Jan 17 and today I'm regretting not having a food funeral. Not a massive binge just some extremely spicy street tacos with rice and Beans. And a side of salsa and chips.

I am on the 17th also. I did not go crazy before the liquid pre-op diet, but I did have a good steak since it will be a LONG time before I will be able to eat that again!

  5. I just use a chicken broth with Isopure unflavored Protein (25g). I mix it well in a Blender Bottle shaker while it is cold, and then I pour it in to a coffee cup and microwave it for a minute or so. The Protein Powder alters how the broth looks, but it doesn't really change the taste much at all. I have been on the liquid pre-op diet for 4 days now, and this is my favorite meal of the day.

  6. I am flying soon and only taking carry on. I of course need to bring Protein with me. Suggestions on how to pack my GENEPRO? I don't want to bring the entire 90 serving container.

I use he Blender Bottle Go Stack, and I travel every week with my Protein. They will sometimes take it out and look at it, but I never really had a problem. They work awesome! I have found them at GNC and The Vitamin Shoppe, or you can order from Amazon.< /p>

  7. My husband gave me a S'well bottle for Christmas. I love it. It has a screw cap, is refillable, keeps liquids cold for 12 or hot for 24. I carry it everywhere.

I love my S'well bottle! I think it even keeps my cold beverages cold for longer than 12 hours. I have 2 that are both 25 oz, and I fill them at 5am, and I finish drinking one in the early afternoon, but the other one is still cold when I am drinking it at 8pm at night. The are awesome!

  8. Right now I have the Isopure no carb strawberry and Dutch chocolate. Hoping the chocolate is better.

I will not receive the time for my surgery until the day before. It's frustrating that is how they do it. U are lucky to find out ur time so soon!

    We are almost there!!!!

How was the chocolate Isopure? I found out that my surgery will be at 11am on 1/17. Getting really anxious now!

  9. I like the Quest Protein powders in chocolate and banana flavors. Quest does have a strange texture to it though, so if you can get past that, then the flavors are great. If you have a Vitamin Shoppe nearby, they sell single serve packets of several different brands of Protein powders. Also, I have found that the pre-mixed Protein drinks typically taste better to me. Whether that be the Premiere Protein, or Muscle Milk, or any other pre-made version. I prefer the Premiere Protein over Muscle Milk.

I don't have to start my liquids until next week because my doctor only requires 1 week, thankfully. Do you know your time yet? I should be finding mine out this week. i hope I am early in the morning so that I can just get it over with already! I can't believe we are only 2 weeks away!!!

  10. I was a Diet Coke fiend and gave it up 6 months prior to surgery. I honestly don't miss it... and when I stopped, my sweet tooth went away.

Now it is so unappealing, there's no chance of me taking it up again.

"When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "

My downfall was Diet Pepsi! After my first consultation with my surgeon I decided to cut out all caffeine, so there went my addiction to Diet Pepsi, coffee, etc... I figured it would be easier to get through the caffeine withdrawals before the surgery. One less thing to worry about during recovery.

  11. For me, I think it has something to do with me having a caretaker personality. I always put everyone before myself, including my dogs apparently! Well no more! I am doing this surgery for me, and taking control of my life for once. It only took me 42 years to figure that out! [emoji2]

  12. Well this is my fist post I am very new to the site and have been researching my surgery and working towards it since November of 2016, I know that compared to other stores and video's that I have heard, my process is short amout of time. I have great insurance because I work for the state that I live in so luckily I did not have to go through a weight lose program or see a Nutritionist for a certain number of visits I have struggled with weight for most of my adult life and I have losted and gained weights over the years and I find as I get older it gets harder for me to jump on a diet and lose 20-40 pounds like i'm use to....

Plus a lot of the methods that i've used could have crazy side effects and with my mom recently being treated for breast Cancer I am no longer willing to take those risks I want to stay on track and live a better healthier life. I look forwards to hearing from you ...many blessings

Good luck! I am getting my sleeve on January 17, and I am so excited/anxious! My process moved really fast as well. My first consultation was on December 6, and now my surgery is just a little over a month after that. Like you, I have tried so many diets, or just eating healthy/clean, and I finally just made the decision that I had to do something that was going to work and help me maintain over the long run. I know this will not be an easy fix, but it will definitely be a strong tool to help me get healthier!
