With the holiday the day before, i was surprised when she told me it was the next open day! I was honestly thinking they would schedule me more towards the end of July! But I also was expecting it to take 2 weeks for insurance approval, not 2 days!!

July 5th is going to be the first day of our new lives!!

I know. I have been seeing June and July dates all around the 5th but have only come across 2 other members having their procedure on the 5!!

I am going through bristol hospital and they've been great!! Dr Gedeon has been AMAZING. All of the specialists ive been seeing through Bristol have also been great. I had never used Bristol Hospital before this, usually always go to st. Francis, but now i love Bristol! I won't have my surgery until July, but the whole team is very on top og everything!!

I just kept telling myself, "I can do anything for two weeks". I can do anything for 10 days... etc...." it's much more of a head game than anything else, but it gives you the momentum to carry you through postop.

PS- I wouldn't weigh yourself too much, as you shouldn't be focused on results as much as dedication to the program. The results will come if you follow the program, just look at all the pre/post updates for those who follow their program.

There is an over the counter medicine for nausea. It is called Emetrol and is in the isle with pepto bismol. For your migraines I found that Excedrin Migraine helps a lot. These 2 symptoms are made much worse if you are dehydrated. If you can, get some pedialite and sip on it as much as possible. You can try sugar free Jello and sugar free Popsicles too. Good luck!

@@emmapat14 I know you weren't asking me, but I had Gerd before sleeve, and afterward it went away for a long time.
It just came back again about 6 months ago, so maybe 22 months post-sleeve.
For now I'm able to control it with just pepcid ac 2 x a day. I'm not sure what the future holds but for now I'm still glad I had sleeve.

Mine before surgery was very bad but about 97 percent controlled with ppi. If yours is not able to really be controlled now, I'm sure your doc is right to recommend bypass for you.

Thank you very much. I do take the methadone daily, but it is in liquid form, not a pill. I also suffer from restless leg syndrome (not the reason I'm on methadone) but it has done wonders! I will of course be up front and honest with all Doctors, and hope that they will communicate with eachother, so I csn have the best, and healthiest, possible outcome! That's great that you've had your mom through the whole journey. My mom had gastric bypass in 2002. And it has changed and improved so much since then! Every doctor is different as far as their requirements. I myself am on several meds (all pill form) for heart failure and also a couple for diabetes/along with insulin. Last time I used insulin was the day prior to surgery. Took my reg meds before surgery and commenced taking them the day after. A couple of the larger pills were ground down the first couple days but that was it. Was in the cardiac wing after surgery for 3 days while they monitored my meds, ect. Stopped all diabetes meds within first week. As I have lost weight (down 112lbs too date) my heart failure specialist has had to adjust the dosages off most of my meds.

Thank you very much for your reply! I am meeting the 23rd with my prescribing doctor, and first appointment with surgeon is the only 29th. So i should have some answers then. You sould be good to go since its already in liquid form since they normally won't allow you to swallow pills for the first 2 weeks....you will need to report to your surgeon what meds u r on but I think u will be okay.
