    Protein/liquids

Protein shakes and liquids all count towards your liquid goal. I was told 50% of the 64 ounces should be Water based Clear Liquids such as broth, Jello, decaf tea, water and the other 50% would be protein liquids like the shakes and Isopure. So the total fluids are 64 ounces including all fluids. Pushing hard for 60 grams of protein but not quite there yet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Water nauseated + saliva

I really like the brand Hint for Water. They have a touch of fruit flavor but no calories or carbs. You can find them at Whole Foods. Maybe your tummy would like that better than plain water. Also decaf constant comment tea has been tasting really good and does not disrupt my stomach. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Post op 2

First 3 days are toughest. I went home after 24 hours but tread lightly. In order to get all fluids and Protein in, I set an alarm every 30 minutes. From 8am until 10pm sipping your fluids and protein becomes a full time job:) wishing you a quick recovery and keep walking as it helps a lot. 10 PO ⬇️5lbs...slow boogie

I had my surgery 6 days ago. I gained 5 pounds in the hospital. I have lost that plus 3 more so total of 8 pounds if you include the hospital gain. Struggling to get in 64 Fluid ounces per day. Sip non-stop from 8am until 10pm. My pain is mostly gone but totally sick of this liquid diet. The Protein shakes and Isopure are the hardest to get through. FINALLY A DATE!

I had my surgery at 4pm on 12/19 and as soon as woke up tried to walk the floor every 3 hours and I was released on 12/20 at 2pm so not even 24 hours. I have no hunger so force myself to follow that schedule with the 4 ounces every 30 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    FINALLY A DATE!

The pain for me is more like general discomfort all over abdomen and very tight with lots of noises. I am still taking pain pills for about 1-2 more days only (I had surgery on Monday 12/19 so only day 5 for me. It is a daily chore to get all the liquids and Protein down as you can only take 1-2 ounces at a time so I wake at 7:30am and work all day to get in everything every 15 mins using an alarm clock with reminders for when is Protein shake, Water, broth, Vitamins, etc as everything has to be paced out. Getting better day by day but good thing I will have 4 weeks off as this is like a job every day to follow the schedule and also to get two long walks in. I know it will get better each week as things normalize. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I have moderate pain and discomfort but feeling I can get outside of the house and walk and ha e more energy. Getting in all the liquids and Protein takes me every 1/2 hour from 7:30am until 11pm when I go to bed and take my last supplement (iron). It is a major adjustment but my spirits are good and not in too much pain any longer. Still passing a ton of gas. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. I bought pea Protein at Whole Foods and it still packs about 15-20 grams of protein per serving if you don't want to use whey protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Doing ok. Still full of gas, but it is starting to release. Every time I sip something I feel stomach cramping but I am sure that will pass at some point. I like the Isopure drinks as they are clear like Water but come in multiple flavors and have 40 grams of Protein in one drink. They also count towards fluids and the bottles are about 20 ounces. Today's is coconut flavored and I will split in half for two of my protein portions. Also having cream of mushroom Soup with beef broth and Protein powder added to it then strained. Not bad but can only get about 2 ounces down and then need a break. Trying to pace inside the house so I can hit a mile per day until early next week where I will start my aggressive walks. So far so good. Just want to fast forward about a week or so:) I gained 5 pounds in hospital so want to get that off quickly. I am sure it is all the fluids they give you and such. Hope you are doing great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    FINALLY A DATE!

I suggest the Isopure drinks as they can count as both Protein (a whopping 40 grams for each one) and fluids (20 ounces) they have all sorts and today I am having coconut. They are clear like Water. I also added clear beef broth and unflavored Protein powder to cream of mushroom Soup and thinned with water last night and strained the mushroom chunks out and it was tasty. Had about 2-3 ounces. I am 2 days out of surgery. Has finally is moving also. Still taking the pain meds though.
