You're only 2 wks post operation and you're doing soft food already?
My doctor had me on full liquid for 3 weeks, puree 3 weeks, then soft food 3 weeks, and finally regular food.
Surgery date 12/28 and barely on puree... I miss real food and craving from time to time... lucky you

Chris, I'm sorry to hear about your complications - praying for you for a speedy recovery.I had surgery 12/3016. I had a unknown bonus surgery as well. It seems i had a hiatial hernia. They repaired that and completed the sleeve. Now im not sure what my body is telling me. Everytime i put something in my mouth i have a wave of cramping/pain. My wife us a 20 year ER nurse and wont let me get behind on myprotein or Fluid intake. But it is so unsettling to me im afraid to try anything at all. Walking isnt an issue. No pain there. Just slow moving. Just the putting something in my mouth has me worried. I am begining to wonder if i have made a mistake.
Chris

Congrats! You're so positive - you're going to have an amazing journey! Best of luck!Well I'm finally on the loser's bench. What a great way to bring in my new years. I was in terrible pain after surgery but its not as bad now two days out. Still sore and tender but it cones with the territory. Hw:305, sw: 289.2, I made through the liquid diet I did cheat the first couple of days but I straightened up and it worked in my advantage. So happy. Noe just trying to stay hydrated. Thx to all who have been following me and everyone who has given me advice along the way.

I had my surgery on the 28th and yes, left side is more sore... from the posting I've read, it appears normal. To be on the safe side, call your doctor tomorrow.
Are you b wearing your binder?

How are you doing?I had one very minor complication. 1-day post-op they took me off the morphine drip and switched me to Norco Syrup. Thir policy is to not discharge until they know you can tolerate oral pain medicine. A minute after I took it, I vomited bloody foam. This freaked out the nurse, but my surgeon didn't seem phased by it. Because of the blood, they took me off blood thinner injections for the day, discontinued my liquid diet to ice chips only, and switched me to a Tylenol syrup and watched me for another day. Then the next day they put me back on liquids and blood thinners and had to wait for those numbers to come back to normal. So, my one-night hospital stay turned into a 3-night/4-day hospital stay.
The irony is I never once needed the Tylenol syrup once I was home.

Is it normal for the shoulder pain to come back (surgery date, 28th)

Surgery on the 28th bypass - was told to drink an ounce every hour and walk 1min./15min. I didn't start walking until yesterday (very little). Did more today.
Drink 64oz - mainly Protein if possible.
I haven't been able to do it, but finally have bowl movement today.
Best of luck to you!

My doctor didn't test me, but it's for your own good - complications with healing, i.e. blood clog, etc.
Trust me, after your surgery, you won't even want one - your entire taste bud changes

Left shoulder pain is back (more like a pinched nerve), stomach hurts every time I try to move - maybe I'm just a big baby

Thanks.
We only went for a short shopping spree and came home.
I did get tired and had to walk very slow, but also scared of blood clog...

Surgery on the 28th and today's my 1st day out of pj - thought I'd try to take my daughter shopping - get out of the house for a little - is this advisable?
