    Dumping syndrome

This situation turned out to not be dumping. I had a slight blockage that was not allowing foid to go down. I had to go in for an egd with a dilation. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  2. I had my bypass done dec 22 and i have only lost 3 lbs in the last 2 weeks and 20 lbs overall. I am drinking my Water and Protein, i am taking my Vitamins and eat very little actual food. Usually once or twice a day i eat a couple of tbsp of either puree chicken or maybe Soup. I am frustrated the scale isnt moving. In the past i thought that artificial sweetner caused me to gain weight and im scared it is the reason im not losing. My taste didnt change like others say theirs did and i have a lot of trouble drinking plain water. Has anyone else had the same experience in slow loss? Not losing

No just 12-15 since surgery. The first few came off during the liquid diet before surgery. I am only eating once or maybe twice a day. I might need to increase. And the bms are pretty slow. Only twice this week. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  5. Who has had the muscle milk brand of Protein powder? I want to order it bc it has 50g of protein and its reasonably priced. I was going to get chocolate flavor. Any powdered protein advice? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Protein Shakes Post-Op

I drink premier Protein shakes from costco and i think some walmarts have them. I also have a powdered protein isolate that i mix with Water. Taste horrible so i put a tsp of stevia in it, but it has 50g of protein so its worth it. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Protein Shakes Post-Op

Do I understand correctly that your doctor didnt tell you to drink ptotein? Clear Protein isolate the first week then any low carb no sugar Protein drinks after that. What did your doctor tell you to eat/drink? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    PB&J

So you're almost 3 weeks out, good for you! How is your comment relevant to my post and question? You can't relate because you're not there yet and it seems like your stomach isn't anywhere near healed yet since you said "would absolutely kill me" and you are still in week 2 .... good luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I hit the three week mark in 2 days so im not that far out. Is there that big of a difference between week 3 and week 4? I understand if you felt attacked by peoples comments but why did you post if you didnt want peoples feedback. This is a learning experience for all of us and you were probably more upset at the answer since you wanted to eat a particular food. I get it, sorry you felt my comment wasnt relavent i wont respond to your comments anymore since you are so much more further along than i am. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App Aww Jessi don't take it the wrong way, what I meant is that when I was about 10 days or more out personally I couldn't do much but eat applesauce that time was very difficult for me. Now I feel much better and are cleared for reg food. So at that time I wasn't commenting on posts that I couldn't relate to. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App So did you eat it? How did it go? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Dumping syndrome

For me its really bad and lasts like 20 min if not longer. Waves of pain from the back of my throat down the middle of my back. And i feel like its going yo come up or maybe just wish. My mouth will Water and today foam has been coming up. The first time i ate one small bite of cake. This time i just had a few small bites of pureed ckn and really soft broccoli. Something ive eaten twice before with no problem. I think i took a drink of my water too close to my food or had my bites too close together. But it really hurt bad for a while. Left side pain

I am 10 days post op and was feeling great. I am getting all my Fluid and all my Protein in. I have had some trouble sitting up in like a dining room chair but not too bad. Yesterday I was on my feet all evening with no problem and no pain. I drove home last night which was uncomfortable but I made it. Today I can hardly move, I haven't been able to walk much. Every time I get up I have burning pain way worse than before. Does the pain come in waves? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Just a bite

I just want to warn gastric bypass patients that at 16 days post op don't take a bite of cake. I have no idea what caused me to do that becayse i have followed my plan completely but I paid dearly in pain for several minutes afterwards. I thought it was going down fine but no in fact it did not. I couldn't do anything but wait. I thought I was going to vomit for a few minutes but no such luck. I just had to wait. It was really bad and I definitely learned my lesson. Just a bite will hurt! Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Sleeved jan 4th

I had a brief thought about why did I do this to myself. I am 15 days post op and feeling alive again for several days now. It will get better fast. Just my left side that still hurts now. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  18. I think muchies wise, planning out beforehand such as getting a little bowl of veges/fruit would probably solve that senario for us all. Just eat slowly lol. I wish you the best of luck ♡♡♡Yes I agree if you plan ahead you do better and I think just eat beforehand. That way you know you've already had your food and if you really want something sweet just eat a sugar free popsicle. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Constipation

I am 15 days post op and I have had trouble too. I am drinking a glass of Metamucil every day to keep the situation moving and not letting it get bad again. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  20. And I am not a lazy either. I have a respectable full time job, two beautiful kids, a great hubby and life goals but I enjoy smoking before bedtime most days. I did ask my surgeon about it and he said he would wait a little longer. Something about my lungs and then he mentioned the munchies. But he sounded like it would be fine in the future. 21. I am in the exact same situation. I am 15 days post op and I smoked last night. I had not eaten dinner yet and actually I had eaten very little all day, other than Protein shakes and Water. So when I got home I had some Soup. I ate half the can way more than I have eaten yet. Today I was thinking I was ready to buy some to have at home but I didn't bc of the munchies. I want my surgery to be successful and it really frustrates me that smoking isn't really good for my diet. Hopefully that will change bc I miss smoking. Gas pains

How much are you walking? I had really bad shoulder pains too but not for more than 48 hours. But I walked every other hour. It really helped me when my husband rubbed my shoulders. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Primary Care

My bariatric doctor did not refer me to my primary care doctor. They referred me to a dietician that did my 6 monthly visits to get my insurance approval. The dietician visits were done over the phone and super helpful. She taught me so much about what to expect and helped me start some of the changes ahead of time. You should ask your bariatric doctor for a referral. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Rice?

Can I puree chicken and rice? I know it's not healthy to eat much rice but I am in the puree phase and just the pureed meat is so gross to me. I think if I added some rice it would go down better. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
