    Perforated ulcer

Yes it was excruciating pain so bad we called 911 and I took an ambulance to the hospital. My bypass was Dec 2016 and I had no idea I had an ulcer. Is your carafate a pill or liquid form? Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Perforated ulcer

My bypass was in Dec 2016 and I didn't drink any coffee for months but we got a cool coffee pot for Christmas and I've had a cup (or 2) a day since then and I have drank too much tea so I am pretty sure that is what caused the rupture. Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Perforated ulcer

I have no idea. All I know is it ruptured and allowed gas to leak into my system and I am lucky I didn't get sepsis. Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery didn’t work?

Eat more, you are supposed to get like 3x more protein than you are. Esp working out so much. You have lost 30 lbs in a month and a half. Why do you say you haven't lost? Keep up the good work, don't give up. It will work, just takes a little time. Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Support

I feel the same way. Seeking support is so hard and having someone that understands what you are going thru is rare. I have lost 70 lbs and people are genuinely happy for me but none of them really understands the mourning of the loss of food for comfort. Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Enthusiasm Gone

This journey has been very emotional for me. Make sure you follow what your doctors tell you to do physically and emotionally. I had 2 full weeks home before i went back to work and it was hard. My side hurt a lot. I was only really comfortable laying on my back for like 3 weeks. I dont think i would have made it on a vacation 5 or 6 weeks out. 10. I am 34 days post op and in general im feeling great. I can pick my one year old up again and my side has pretty much quit hurting unless im really tired. My issue is im starting to try to eat protein and not just drink it. And one day it will go down just fine but the next it will kill me. I have pain all the way up and down my back. Today i was lucky enough it actually came up but on Sunday i was not, i was in pain for like 5 hours on Sunday. Both times it was meat. On sunday i ate sliced roast beef with sauce and i kind of understood maybe it was too soon. But today i ate tuna, ive eaten tuna just fine other times. Is this normal? I have already had one dilation and i have a dr apt tomorrow. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  11. It has taken me 3 dilations to be able to advance to soft foods comfortably. My surgery was Dec 22. My advice is tell your doctor.
  12. How long after your gastric bypass were you able to eat fresh fruits and veggies?
  13. I am having my 3rd one done on Monday.
  14. I am 60 days post op. I have lost 30 lbs overall which is great but i have been stalled for 2 weeks twice. Why these long stalls so early on? I am basically still on liquids since i have had to have 3 dilations. I am getting between 60 and 80 oz of liquid a day and between 60 and 90 grams of Protein. I have even added walking a few times a week. Any ideas to help me lose faster? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Long weight loss stalls

The only thing i can hope for is we are just taking longer to adjust and see real weight loss.
  16. I am looking for a support group in southern Dallas or northern Ellis county. Any ideas on how to find one or anybody know of one? Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  17. Odd, the reason they have you do liquid diet is to shrink your liver because they have to move your organs all around to do the surgery. But eat food as long as they say you can. One month post op sucks. I am so sick of liquid, Soup and Protein drinks. Im ready for it to become habit. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
  18. Not the easy way out at all! Not to discourge you but the emotional part gets harder after surgery when you want food and cant eat anything. I had surgery a month ago and i want real food. I am sick of Vitamins and creamy Soup. BUT i am actually losing for the first time in my life. So this season will pass and we will adjust and be happier and healthier in the long run. 20. Same here! I really thought something was wrong but it is normal and one day it hurts really bad and the next it is gone. Really weird, i agree though i had a c.section a year and a half ago and that was a piece of cake compared to this. sleeping wuth the heating pad helped me a lot. 21. I am sick of pureed/soft foods and I have to have another egd/dilation again next week! So that means back to clear liquids again and start all over. Has anyone else had problems with their food /water not going down and had to have multiple dilations? I need some encouragement and a timeline when these types of problems get worked out. Same here, i started nornal time but it was really heavy. I was 3 weeks post op so the cramps and bloating sucked. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Regrets

The first couple of days really hurt. It passes quickly. Walk and drink sips of Water. Shoulder massages helped me a lot too in the first two days. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App

    Dumping syndrome

The egd is where they sedate you and put a camera down your throat to look around. The dilation is where they expanded a part of esophagus with a balloon. I had food getting stuck on the way down. Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App
