Zero Weight Regain 2017
I'm pre-op and hear/read the stories of patients gaining weight and always have the nagging question on my mind "what if I regain?" But then I am reminded that I must change my relationship with my choices of food, along with the quantity and quality of it. I just went to a family member's birthday party last night. Everyone was eating and I didn't have one bite. Why? I wasn't hungry...and I actually chose to listen to my body. (I tend to mindlessly eat) Party food did not dictate my social fun. I still had fun! I danced away, even with a hurt shoulder. With all that said, it's a long term, forever commitment to follow and I know I can do it. Thank you for your post and inspiration!

Sleeve vs Bypass
Stats are stats...we can follow them for general ideas of how we might end up, only. But every body is different. I've heard of people having heartburn before the sleeve and not having it afterwards too. I've heard of people not having heartburn before and having it after. Or having it pre and post op. I am pre-op sleeve and I deal with acid reflux based on what foods I choose. I haven't had it for a while, since I've made better choices. Who's to say I'll have heartburn after the sleeve or not? I do take stats into consideration though. I've always dealt with the reflux so it's nothing I can't handle although I wouldn't want to. But I'm having faith that I won't have to after my surgery either.

If I had known then what I know now about my DS...
Changing the way my body was intentionally made is my number one factor (surgery wise) for not going that route and picking the sleeve myself. May be great, but personally, it didn't sit right with me inside. So, I opted for the sleeve.

NSV!
Oh...so happy for you! That's exciting. One of my goals is to wear my wedding ring again too. I never had them resized with the thought of being back to a healthier weight and also didn't want to face the fact that I'd have to make them bigger just because I gained weight. Kudos to your wonderful husband...that's a sweet surprise.

Boobs !
I hope so for you too hon. ?

Boobs !
This is what I'm afraid of, still being big after a loss. I am a 40H (although I'm sure I could go higher since my bras are a bit snug now). I'd love to be a C or D. Had enough of ginormous boobs.

What's Your Goal Weight Gift to Yourself?
You've got the tats, the cruises, probably the car too, eh? LOL I'm glad your tats are holding up. One reason why I decided to wait on my lace tat is to lose weight first, not knowing if it'll hold up or not. Hope you find something nice to give yourself.

Then my husband wouldn't be well received. LOL Seems like a huge impact to living there whether or not to get a tattoo.

For some reason, I can sympathize with you right now about being all shopped out. I usually get burned out shopping during the holiday season so I can totally relate. Hope you enjoy your nice break from shopping and get yourself some earrings soon.

How do you manage changing clothing sizes?
I think I'll follow suit with the leggings, etc. my church has a donation store that I can get hand me downs for free too. So, I'll be taking advantage of that as well. You reminded me of it. Thanks!

How do you manage changing clothing sizes?
I wish I had an answer, but I'm pre-op too and would love to know. Like you, I'm heavily congested on the chest. Lol. I really would love them to go down a bit. Save me some neck and back tension and headaches!!

Absolutely. I hope I won't need too much or any plastics. We'll see what genetics does first, eh? But I'm pretty sure the boobs will need to be lifted. Heck, they need to be lifted now! ?

What is most important to weight loss?
@biginjapan thanks for posting all of that! Too lat to read all the resources, but I'll get to them tomorrow. I love learning about the body responses or lack of regarding diet/weight loss, etc. It is good to be knowledgeable!

People don't get it!
Just remember that most people are not educated about the surgeries. If they were, I think we'd have a whole lot more encouragements and support around us.
