  1. Mine goes with the first weigh in. Most do.
  2. Could be you're actually thirsty?? Maybe always have water on hand, when you feel like grazing on something, drink water first.
  3. Yay!!!!!! Mack truck, ?????
  4. Nope. No sleep study for me either. I'm glad.
  5. I did that a few weeks ago and boy my knee felt awful afterwards. Lol. But it was good to walk.
  6. Then I think you must be the professional. ? You can do this hon. I believe you can and will. I understand about the snacks. I think I gained some of my weight from my kid's snacks over the years. Although I have them on hand, it's easier for me to say no now. You can do this too. But the biggest thing we could do not only for ourselves, but for our little ones,(mine are 7 and 3) is to incorporate healthier snacks for them too. It's a go here but it's slow adjusting. I totally get ya.
  7. We're all here to encourage and cheer you on! Just stay close, keep us updated and ask away! ?
  8. Are these items readily available to you? It'll be easier to not have them on hand. Unless you're going out to get them. ??? If you cannot control your relationship with food now, how will it be post-op? You've got the rest of your pre-op to prove you are ready. Give the next six days the best of you and make it happen. I would highly encourage you to talk with a professional about it as well.
  9. I have them, but like you, don't know either. From what I've read of others with cigna, seems like they're pretty fast actually. So I'm trying not to worry about it myself.
  10. This makes sense. Gas-X might help with intestinal gas, but it won't help with the gas (carbon dioxide) they use to inflate the abdomen during surgery. Because that gas doesn't get into the stomach or the intestines, Gax-X won't do anything to relieve the shoulder, neck, and back pains
  11. The first weigh in is what they go by or should be going by. I wouldn't worry. @kins117 I'm surprised they submitted your current. Did they say that in the beginning of your program?
  12. Unless your insurance has something very specific to weight loss/gain, then no. I haven't lost any either. Nor did I gain any weight. So it's all good. Your pre-op diet you'll be sure to lose a lot of water though/ some fat. So I wouldn't worry. ?
  13. Wow! What an inspiring true story!! You look amazing and I'm sure you feel amazing too. Great job hon! Thank you for sharing. I love seeing the before and afters. Beautiful smile!
  14. I think the 60% is like the general minimum. But like the above poster said, it's your devotion to proper food and exercise that determines what you will do.
  15. Mine isn't too bad. I've just switched out my breakfast for a protein shake and make healthier alternatives. Started taking more vitamins. I've always managed to make healthy meals, so it's easy on that part, just opting for more plant based foods. When I want pizza, I go for all veggie and thin crust (2-3 small slices). Say what!? "She's eating pizza!" Lol. It's all in moderation. If you can get moderation down, then its all good. Can't stand pasta, rice, and sweets, so I'm pretty safe there. But the hardest part for me is the NOT drinking during meals and sipping. I know I'll be forced to sip, so I'm confident I'll be ok. Just hard to practice it now. my advice to you is to not have those things you shouldn't have (or you can't control yourself around) in the house. It's a mind battle. Your body will be just fine without it all.
  16. I was under the assumption that I could get right back in to intense exercise (because that's how I like to roll) sooner. Seeing that my caloric intake will be reduced drastically, (how did I not think of this before!!!?) I now know I'll have to take this into consideration early on. Poo...I was hoping to get back in the gym a bit more than what it seems I'll be doing. Walking will do for awhile. Light weights maybe too? Thanks for the info!
  17. Dancing--cause I'm good at it. I also love to lift weights, heavy and light.
  18. Never heard of race being a factor with weight loss surgery tools. Sounds like a bologna to me. The tool is what you make it, sleeve or bypass. I chose the sleeve for various reasons. Nothing was recommended other than what I wanted "is a good choice" for me. Its ultimately up to you to decide!
  19. And we complain about 3 months or six months or even a year!!!! Shame on us!!!!! Congratulations hon! This calls for a celebration ? ???
  20. If they didn't do a test than yes, you may have a legal issue on hand; but on the other hand, if they did, some tests still turn out negative. Few years back, I had a blood test and a urine test at the hospital and they both came out negative--even hospital tests aren't 100% effective. It's amazing what the body goes through to protect the baby in the womb when something like major surgery is happening and my prayer is that the baby is fine. But to go to the ER with the pains be prepared for a miscarriage, should it happen. That's how my miscarriages went...stomach pains/ER. I'll have hope for you though, no matter how it turns out. Blessings to you hon.
