  1. Went to sleep about 10pm. Had a very VIVID dream. Almost nightmarish, that I sent my 4 year old to school in a diaper with no pants on. (She hasn't worn diapers in years!). I told her I'd go get her pants from the house and I couldn't find my car. I couldn't remember if I drive the truck or the sedan. Then my dad, who happened to be an old version of Lebron james, came to the school on an old Kawasaki motorcycle, told me that I left the truck at the house, so I must have driven the sedan. Couldn't find my Avalon, and I realized I left my key and my wallet in the car. Then had to report it stolen, cancel credit cards, etc. it was awful. Ok, so I woke up at 4:30 this morning. Forced myself to go back to sleep. Alarm went off at 6am. I had a hard time rolling out of bed! Went to the restroom, and I was pretty happy to get a toot out. Just means my system is getting back together to me. Brushed my teeth and walked to the living room, I was soooo nauseous! Took a nausea med. about to take my omeprazole, and hydrocone. Oh, and one multi vitamin and b12.....my breakfast. Lol. Back hurts from laying in the same spot all night. once these meds kick in, I'm a walking....
  2. Thanks. Wasn't easy, but I stuck to what I could.
  3. Go plant based, for no whey. That's what I used during pre-op phases. VegaOne nutritional shake is pretty good. Expensive but good. I was told to switch to whey for post op. Can't remember the science behind it, but once cleared for regular foods, if I do protein shakes, I'm going back to VegaOne. Currently I'm doing premier protein and those GNC lean shakes are pretty good too, especially, in my opinion, the snickerdoodle and pumpkin spice
  4. I did the same thing after some good chicken broth today too. ?
  5. I had approx 20oz of water, 8 oz of broth, 4oz of protein drink, 2oz of nasty decaf hospital coffee. Lol
  6. @mishyk I am also on clear liquids but have the option of drinking a protein shake when I feel hungry. I didn't have the usual broth this afternoon, so I was getting "hungry" looking for the cue signs and started sipping on a protein drink. I have been taking my vitamins and meds since being home the calcium chews I have to really make sure they're chewed to liquid...stomach didn't agree to well the first one I had. The multi, I just ate it in pieces. Not too bad. B12 was easy. Yall start your vitamins too?
  7. @Barnv81 read our experiences here. ?
  8. I have. I ended up sipping 1/3 of a protein drink about 4 hours ago. I'm about to sip another bit of it shortly. Thankfully this premier protein isn't super thick.
  9. I've learned a lot here too, but as always, confer with your doc, for issues that don't seem right or there are conflicting replies for everything. Glad we can help!!!
  10. Yes, everyday will get better. I have only had burping to expel the gas. I'm sure I'll need to toot at some point, but walking gets it going for sure. I can't wait until we're all about 2-3 weeks out feeling aoooo much better and sharing our experiences. I'm thankful for "meeting" you all here. ?
  11. If i were hungry, it sounds delicious. ?
  12. You will be fine hon. I will be honest, it sucked the first day. It's getting easier. Stick to it, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. ?
  13. I was told that only tylenol is acceptable if you don't take a prescribed pain med. if you took a prescribed one, forego the Tylenol. Something to do with too much acetaminophen.
  14. This is what my surgeon gave me from discharge today....you are okay.
  15. I took my nap. Woke up in more pain. About to take some meds here and walk around the house the best I can. It's muggy and wet outside, there are too many mosquitoes. So I'll opt to pace around the house too. Glad youre feeling better today! I anticipate all of us to only get better. ?
  16. I'm home. Not comfortable. I think I'm drinking too much. I'm going to slow it down. Take a nap then a walk. But it does feel good to be home. You'll enjoy your change of scenery. ?
  17. I don't know how much I've been drinking. Plenty though. But I even forgot I had surgery for a split second when I took a gulp of water. Went down fine, but went back to sipping. Definitely nothing ice cold. Sorry you're unable to keep it down. Keep trying though.
  18. @patty0715 here you go hon! Keep us posted with how you're doing. We can be here to encourage and share with one another. ?
  19. Oh good. It should help, I hope. I just got home a few mins ago. I'm ready for a nap too. The calcium chews did not agree with my stomach, so I'll either chew up even better next time or wait another day. Sipping on hot bone broth and bought electrolyte water at the advice of my nutritionist.
  20. My surgeon came in and explained it to me. I noticed mine happen a lot after I drink water. He says it's quite normal, especially with cold water. If I stick to room temp or warm/hot liquids, it won't spasm so much. So my liquid breakfast was brought in, I had the hot broth. No contractions. I'm drinking the hot coffee, none there either. I think I'll be sticking to room temp and hot drinks until I heal a bit more. They're very uncomfortable. @Sweet as peaches, you home now?
  21. Surprisingly, with the lights on, I got some sleep last night. Woke up uncomfortable in some areas, mainly my tailbone. But I've always had that problem. Woke up about a quarter till 6, brushed my teeth, used the restroom and started my day with a walk. Now I'm actually watching the morning news which never happens in my house. I asked for another abdominal binder (the first one was all gross with blood, etc from the incisions), seems to help with the insicion sights, putting pressure on them especially when I need to cough. I'll be leaving the hospital today. I just live about 7 mins away so traveling won't be too bad.
  22. Well if you've heard of it, then I'm sure it's quite normal. Just reminded me of when I went in to labor. Lol i was kind of worried when my iv came out yesterday about not getting enough liquids in, but it seems to be easy enough. It's just making sure there's always something right next to you. Kind of like mindless eating but with liquids.
  23. So, besides the lights being on, I'm doing well. I can drink my water with no problems now. I'm having what feels like contractions. It's really weird, painful too. Comes in waves. If it keeps up, I'll be buzzing the nurse. Anyone else with "contractions"? Don't know what they'd be called....
  24. Hope you get to feeling better hon.
