  1. One thing I had to let go of is the “you must always eat breakfast!” mentality. For kids who are growing, definitely. But for adults, you “break your fast” when you eat for the first time that day. So if it’s 12pm, then you had your “breakfast”. Letting go of having to eat at “such and such time” can be a hard habit to break but can be done.
  2. You just made my day!!!!!! ?
  3. Awww, you’re so cute!!! Great job hon for taking control of your health. ?
  4. Ok this one is a bit much....
  5. You’ve got it! This will be it. ? yes, didn’t Think of WLS as a fast, but it really is. Nice!
  6. This is where I’ve learned about IF. A good friend of mine is a body builder and he explained it to me. I then did tons of research. Hugh Jackman does this to get ready for his movies when he’s got to show his bod. Lol. He’s cut, that’s from IF.
  7. Mine happened after eating fatty food. I ate a single serve bag of Cheetos and had acute excruciating pain in my abdominals that made me bow over and want to scream (I wasn’t even obese then either). I had to have my sil come get me from work and take me to the ER. The next day I had my gallbladder out. it’s been 17 years, but that was the last time I had a Cheeto and will never touch those things again. Lol
  8. There’s even an IF thread somewhere here, but I don’t think it’s active. Maybe we should activate it?? We’re good at keeping things going eh? Lol
  9. Intermittent fasting is doable and workable. Despite me not sticking to it before WLS, I did it for about 3 months and saw significant changes. I disagree with the above poster, because I did my weights during my fast. I gained muscle and was getting stronger. When you do you homework on how the body works during IF, it’s pretty fascinating. It can be a long term way of eating. There are several here who do the 16:8 IF. Once I reach my goal and not working (time for weights in my fasting period) , I’ll be doing it as well. You’ll get tons of OPINIONS on here, including mine. ? but like what you did to go wfpb, do for IF, research it, learn how your body processes fasting and eating in a window. I highly recommend it.
  10. Maybe try working your core with strength exercises. Build more muscle in your abdominal and the fat will go down more than with just cardio. Though I don’t recommend the old school sit-ups, bad for your neck. here are some great exercises: https://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/abs/exercises/top-10-abs-exercises/?page=9
  11. ? I’d love to see that. I can only imagine the feeling though. Good little chuckle I had.
  12. @EmmyJ, I’m in the same boat here at 5 months post. I’ve switched to who knows how many vitamins (and losing money too!) because of the nausea factor. Celebrate were the worse for me. Bariatric vitamins are right behind them. Tried liquid, disgusting!!! Currently, I’m trying to not throw away money and use the rest of the Bariatric advantage pills. I take mine right before bed time, so that I’m hopes I’m asleep before the nausea hits. Seems to work this way unless I can’t sleep and it hits. Ugh. Oh, and I take half the dose of now...I don’t do the full one. Seems better this way too.
  13. To my surprise I pulled out the scale and weighed yesterday. Went down 2 lbs. I’m happy about that. I also managed to get three bottles of water in on top of three cups of coffee and a cup of spiced tea. I think my fluids were pretty darn good. So, I’m working on it again today. My focus will always be three bottles of water daily, which equates to about 6 cups. I went to bed at 9pm and slept till about 5:45, a little less than 9 hours of sleep. It was good. Hope all is well with everyone else.
  14. Second this!!! Please get checked out. Don’t exercise until you do so. Over 80% of your physique is diet-related anyway. The other 20% or less of exercise CAN ABSOLUTELY WAIT until you’re cleared to do so!!!
  15. Wow. I always feel like I missed out on something if I sleep through a storm. Glad your trees are ok. Nothing like losing one after a storm. ☹️ Harvey did it.
  16. Thanks! It’s now 7:43 and my body is starting to feel it. On my second cup of coffee already. After this it’ll be water for the rest of the day. I might squeeze in some spiced tea later.
  17. Well, I’ve been up since 3:35. Just woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep. Coffee it will be today (as everyday), but I’m going to make it my goal to drink 3 bottles of water while I’m at work. Another one when I get home. So, that’s my fluid goal from now on. I suspect I’ll be going to the restroom more. Lol
  18. Makes me wanna sing about being a W O M A N!!!! ? that was off the hook!!! Amazing voices. Wow!
  19. Bahahajajajaja!!!! Just having a mental picture was funny enough!!!!
  20. I was wrong too, don’t remember which one though. But I cried about Billy Ray Cyrus’s advice to Catrina (name??...last girl to be stolen, which I cried again with tears of joy when a Jennifer hit her button while hugging her. That was so sweet!!!!!! ?
  21. Yes, I’ve allowed a few things in that I need to scale back on. So, I’ll be focusing on my meals to be totally wfpb and allow those few things (harvest crisps) on occasion. I’m going to incorporate more fruits though, been trying to get my mind wrapped around eating them...I’d rather eat a kale salad but I know those fruits are just important.
  22. Yes it sure is!!! ? here we are.....LOL hubby with his pistachios....don’t pay attention (and I drew it, lol) to my couch crushing my curtains!!!! Hahaha
  23. Classic....I forget the pic. But my hubby made this recipe today. He doesn’t ever do a variation, so it is what it is. It’s pretty good and yummy. Spanish chickpeas and rice. I think I’ve made this before.... https://www.budgetbytes.com/2015/06/spanish-chickpeas-and-rice/
