  1. Wow! Through tamales!? Whew...that's some strong and disciplined action you've got. Great job!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Absolutely the truth. I don't believe I had an emotional eating problem until I got married (not my hubby's fault...lol) and was stuck on bed rest for the most of my first pregnancy. Talk about BOREDOM!!!! Then I didn't go back to my healthy lifestyle I once had. In short, I changed. Not the same person I used to be. So, now I can totally relate to emotional eating and how hard it is to break that bondage. I do love to workout though. No problem on that side...except for timing. Anyway, thanks for posting this. I'm gonna post this somewhere I can see everyday. Most likely the kitchen! Ha! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I relate to you to the biggest T. I'm rarely ever in pics and I absolutely hate to be in them. But, we are getting a new lease in life. Let's embrace the changes that we are making. Yours is tomorrow, I may have another few months or so. I have been putting on the minimal makeup (blush, lipstick, and a little mascara) and it's been the biggest pickup for me. I feel pretty and it goes on so fast. Do something small to start...makeup, or even just get your hair done as the previous poster suggested. I still hide in big frumpy clothes, but even with makeup I still feel much better. Congrats on your journey though. I pray nothing but blessings over you. 4. I'm praying that I'd be tolerant! I really don't want to go any other way but plant based. I'll do what is needed though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. That's awesome. I'll look in to the pea protein as I don't want to use whey. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Hi y'all and Merry Christmas from South Texas! It was a ridiculous 81 degree weather here today. That shouldn't be allowed! Other than that, I have yet to be sleeved and hope it to be early this next year. Currently I am dealing with bursitis in my hip and it is painful. Now, I know anyone, no matter age, size, can get it, but I'd like to know if any of you who have been sleeved with bursitis have felt the pain alleviate or go away??? I'm wondering if my extra weight is a factor. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. How cute! Now, who sang it while reading? Me! Merry Christmas y'all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  10. Like you I've been searching and researching on these threads and have made the decision to do this. Thank you for sharing your story! Just makes my decision that much more easier to stick to. I'm excited, although I've got a few weeks till my initial appointment. Time will pass by though. thanks again and congrats! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. A sure sign of dehydration is diarrhea. Not sure if it changes because of the surgery (I would think not), but be mindful of it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Your journey so far sounds like what I expect mine to be. But I made the decision a few weeks later. I'm glad it's all coming together for you! Seems like you've got a great support system too. Many blessings on your journey! Keep us posted. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Wow. Sounds like it went great! Many blessings on your journey! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. What insurance you have? I've got Cigna. Hope it goes seamlessly! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. So, I'm being proactive. It's that impatience in me. Although I've opted to just be as patient as I can be (with the wonderful advice of others), I did take the initiative to call my insurance and get some more questions answered. I was told that my three months on a weight loss drug supervised by my doctor counts as one of the requirements; but I've got about 6 months under my doc regarding weight loss. My bmi is over the min requirement, so I've got that settled. Just need the psych evaluation and the go ahead from the bariatric surgeon. I'm thinking I won't need to wait so long anymore. I'm getting excited here. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. It takes a lot to share something like this. My heart aches for you hon. May comfort and peace just envelop every part of your being right now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. So it's probably best to stick with the one I got referred to then. He's got great ratings too. I wasn't thinking ahead really. As much as I'd love to get in there and get the ball rolling, a great surgeon and team is probably better. I've already called my insurance company several months ago. The policy hasn't been revised since and I'm covered. I think I've even got all of my dietary requirements covered already too, so now, I just wait till the appt. 18. Thank you for your kind words. I had to chuckle with the "take advantage of all the pre op education" only because besides actually having it done, I've been doing this (researching, learning) for almost two years now. Lol. I guess another month isn't too bad. Ha! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I don't even start my very first appointment until the end of Jan 2017. Seems like so long from now. Has anyone shopped around for surgeons? I am going to where my doc referred but I know there has got to be more available and maybe can get in faster....or go with the referral? Or am I just too impatient? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Wow!!! That's amazing! Good for you hon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Congrats hon! I'm especially happy there are no problems. Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I'm with clc9. Employers aren't allowed to ask what for anyway. I'll be doing what clc9 advised. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. From what I've read on other forums, appeal the decision. Call Cigna and be persistent. If you've got all the right documentation, it should be good. I've got Cigna too, but haven't gotten to that point where you're at yet. I hope it clears up quickly for you. Hang in there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. "Quality" and "TexMex" in the same statement. Does not compute." HAD A GREAT LAUGH! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
