  1. Well, to start, I'm having the bypass done, hopefully some day soon. I finished all of my pre-op evaluation visits. On 2/27, I did as I was told and called to tell them that I was done. The girl I spoke to said she would get my file all set and have the surgeon evaluate it. This could take a few days. (not so much!). I waited a week with no idea where I stood, so I called again. He still had not gone over my file. The girl told me to give it some more time and had no idea when he will look at it. WTF!! At 2 weeks out from calling the first time, I called again. The girl I spoke to this time pulled up my chart and said they have all my test results, but the surgeon must medically clear me before sending my stuff to my insurance company. She told me to be patient and I should hear something soon. The office called about 5 days later and went over what tests I had and I told them that I fulfilled all my requirements. She said that I was still not medically cleared and then proceeded to tell me to be patient. AGAIN! I asked what was the hold up and she said I've done all I need to for the surgeon and my insurance, but I have to wait for the surgeon to ok my case. Then she told me something no one else had up to this point....my surgeon works in 3 departments in the hospital and he is only in this office a few times a week! WTF! She said that it could take up to 2 weeks from now to hear anything! AGAIN WTF! So, here is where I stand. Tomorrow it will be 2 weeks to the day that I am to hear from him. I haven't heard anything and I still have to wait to be approved by my insurance too. I am SO FRUSTRATED! I'm wondering, should I call again tomorrow? I don't want to be a pain in the ass, but I have anxiety and PTSD and I'm so on edge with wanting an answer. I feel at this rate I won't have my bypass until hell freezes over! AAAAHHHH! I would love some help with this. Has this happened to anyone else? I feel very alone here. Any and all advice is appreciated! Thank you all!!
  2. I know how you feel. I'm waiting to hear from the surgeon that I'm medically cleared and then they have to submit for approval from my insurance company. The waiting is the hard part!
  3. I'm non military. I'm having my surgery in Temple at Baylor, Scott, and White. How about you?
  4. I'm close to Fort Hood. I am in Copperas Cove, TX.
  5. Does anyone know how long it takes for your surgeon to get back to you to know I've been medically cleared for RNY? I finished all my evaluation requirements as of 2/23/17. I then called the surgeons office as I was told to. The nurse told me my surgeon will now go over everything and get approval and then call me to set up a surgery date. After a week, I called again and was told the surgeon has my file and now I have to wait for the call. It's been almost 3 weeks and no clue what to do now. Should I call again? I don't want to come off as annoying for doing this. I'm just so impatient right now. Any advice would be great!
  6. There is honesty with positive support and then there is bullying. Being supportive and honest does not require negative attitudes. I'm sorry your surgery didn't go well, but don't push your opinions and negative feedback on people who need to hear about the good their surgery can do for them. There is always pros and cons to getting WLS. You don't need to try sabotaging others hopes. We all know the risks surgery has and we sign consent to have it done. Complications suck, but we deal with them as they come. Statisticly, more WLS goes off without a hitch than having complications happen. I hope you have a successful revision this time around.
  7. Yay! Another Texan! I'm an hour north of Austin in Copperas Cove!
  8. Thanks for your response! I'll ask my doctor when I have my pre op visit.
  9. Hello! I'm trying to get all of my vitamins, shakes, and water together before surgery. I will be having the RNY surgery. I have found bariatric advantage, fusion, and celebrate supplements, just not sure of what I will need post op. What vitamins do you use? Need help.[emoji39]
  10. unjury is my favorite unflavored Protein. Yeah, if it is put in Water above 140 degrees, the protein starts to cook and gets yucky.
  11. I had said that I like the unflavored protein by Unjury.
  12. I like Protein powder. You have to keep your Fluid no hotter than 140 degrees, but it works well. I use a kitchen thermometer before putting in the protein. Hope that helps! Not sure why all that posted of my response was the last sentence! Oh well!
  13. I want to do a tough mudder. I'm still preop and I've gotten up to walking 1.5 miles a day. I want to be happy, so this all about me for once! I have a hard time doing for myself, so I need to start somewhere!
  14. I hope it goes quickly! I'm so excited and scared to make this change!
  15. Well, I finished up all of my evaluation requirements. I called my surgeons office and the secretary said she will put all of my requirement paperwork together and give it to the surgeon so he can medically clear me for surgery. Does anyone have any idea how long this takes? I was told to just wait for the surgeon to call me back, but had no timeframe for when! This waiting part sucks! So, what's what happens now? Any advice is welcome! Thanks!
  16. I got my first speeding ticket in Halfmoon! LOL! Shen was my rival school! I graduated from Saratoga!
  17. I'm right up there with ya! My last requirement was today and I got there (which was an hour from home) and the guy tells me I'm not on his schedule! I called Feb. 2nd and made the appt., but he never wrote it down. OMG! I could spit fire right now! Now I have to wait another week to see him again, which pushes my approval back another week! I'm sick of jumping through these hoops and running into a brick wall all the time! Sorry about venting, but I wanted you to know you are not alone! [emoji36][emoji35][emoji39]
  18. I use to live in Malta Gardens, many moons ago, and my mailing address was Mechanicville, NY! Small world! I live in Texas now.
  19. It went very well, thank you! They got my IV first shot! The only issue was that my bottom lip got caught between the bite block and my teeth, so I've had a fat lip with a small canker sore since Friday. Best part is that I only have some mild redness in my lower esophagus and upper stomach. So, I'm good to go for RNY once it is approved by my insurance. I see the psych Doctor on Thursday and that concludes my appointments for authorization. I'm very excited!
  20. YUM! These look like little frittatas! But minus the carbs! I can't wait to try these! Very cool! [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I'm going in the morning for my EGD and I'm sick to my stomach because I'm so nervous. I have a phobia of things going down my throat while I'm awake! I hope I don't remember the procedure like my GI Doctor said. He said I'll be getting sedation and I'm just a little freaked! Wish me luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
