  3. Just curious how much help most of you all needed after sleeve surgery? My husband works midnights and I dont have anyone else to help me. Will I be ok through the night? Im getting a bit nervous about beibg alone. Any imput, suggestions is greatly appreciated.
  4. 60 Sandy: i have had gerd or years. At my first consult the doc told me with the sleeve gerd can get really bad 4 to 5 years out. Then after an EGD at my last consult, he saw the hernia I had on the pic of the EGD and seemed to think for me I would be fine with the sleeve. I do not have heartburn that much anymore and have about 75 lbs to loose. So im praying he is correct. Im 58 and do not want to have any revision down the line.
  5. TX2017Sleever: my date is also 4/11!!! I agree can lose.... so hard. It took me 6 weeks to lose 6lbs. I have to admit I'm nervous.
  6. Me too, im trying to stay positive. My date is 4/11
  7. In nervous also. Im being sleeved 4/11. I have a really good surgeon though. I think most are nervous before hand.
  8. Possibly the salt content for the taco seasoning
  9. I also have had gerd for years. I thought because of it I would end up having RNY, but after finding I have a hiatial hernia and much ducussion with my surgeon he seems to think I will be fine with the sleeve. He thinks in the long run its a better fin for me. Im a low bmi and high blood pressure and sleep apnea.
  10. Im 58 and seheduled for 4/11!!! We've got this!!
  11. TX2017 Im also having my surgery on 4/11!!! Lets be friends and suport each other!!
  12. No, i just?went for my last consult. Going?the sleeve route. Dr. thinks this is better for me.
  13. I went today for my final consult and mt scale is 2/1/2 lbs different than theirs was. Just try and get a lb or 2 lower than thwy want. Today when I weifged in I was1 lb ligher than they wantedand they said nothing. If by chance u r a lb more than they want just say your scale said you were xxxx ( whatever weight they wanted)
  14. You?say u are under your goal weight so O dont understand what the problem is??? Keep doing what you are doing.
  15. May I ask of you are having any dental issues? I just read an article about RNY patients 5 to7 years out having many issues with their teeth, ending up with dentures.
  16. 60 Sandy: if you have heartburn or gerd Im sure your surgeon will say bypass for you. The acid reflux can get worse with the sleeve and many end up getting a revision to the bypass because of it.
  17. Usually the reason sleeve patients get revisions to bypass is because they end up having very bad acid reflux.... daily.
  18. I will for sure. I go tomorrow morning
  19. Mine were low also. He put me on a 50,000IU VITIAMIN. 1 aweek for 6 weeks then once a month. The brand is bio tech.
  20. Airstream 88: I will have my second and last consult this friday. Im gonna show the dr. Both articles. I then then will make my decsion. Not sure if you read the research article one that I posted but it say, " Rapid bone loss was occuring despite having normal blood levels of calcui., vitamin D". So this concludes tgat somrthing else is going on that is causing the rapid loss that is not showing up on the blood work. Best of luck to you. Ill post what the doc says.
  21. Did you have the sleeve or rny?
