You are tired because you are not taki g your vitiams and eating properly.you can do this!!!! Call the hospital and make an appointment with a nutritionist. Also start walking, the exercise will help your moods.

Yes, it does get discouraging, believe me!! Your sw also has a lot to do with it. I was 227 on surgery day and am 5'6". Maybe I didn't have as much as most people to lose, although I think I do, and this is why its slower. I do get my Protein in, but definitely have problems getting required Water intake in. I keep pushing to get more in every day. Also, my surgeon had us on soft foods by the time I left the hospital, many people are on liquid diets for weeks.

You had a lower BMI also, it seems like. Im 5'1" and was 191. I also seem to be able to eat a bit more. Did u have the sleeve??

Don't feel bad. I too am a slow loser. Was sleeved on april 11th and I have lost 27 lbs since suegery. 37 total. However I do notice inces lost even when there is no weight loss. The losse is really pretty slow now especially. This month only 5lbs!!!! I do have to admit I am a lower BMI though. I guess as ling as we are losing thats whats important.
Hang in there.[emoji4]

So I got the green light to incorporate new foods into my diet. I ate three chicken wings and they were so good. Tossed in spicy garlic and parm. Delish.
My concern is I seem to tolerate anything I eat. I can't eat a lot but have this cast Iron stomach.
Is this unusual? How it's supposed to be? I also don't have to chew chew chew. I can take nearly normal bites with no issues and I can gulp Water easily. It seems weird to me when I'm reading on here and everyone appears to have tender stomachs.

I am 9 weeks out from the sleeve and I too can eat anything!!! I also can take relatively large sips of liquid. I wondered id I wad alone. I guess everyone is different. I almost wish I was the oppisite though.

I have been wondering about alcohol as well! I am getting married in 4.5 weeks and want to have some wine with the toasts or even a few sips of my favorite apple crown with the wedding party on the way to the reception! At that point I will be a little over 4 months post op. I have my 3 month post op appointment today but I know if I mention it to my surgeon he will tell me no as he is against drinking after bypass! I just want to Celebrate a little nothing crazy!!Discussed ad nauseam:

You'll find both sides of the argument explored and talked about in agonizing detail and breathtaking recklessness.

Make your meals in advance for the week . So you have them read yo take too work for lunch and when you come home you can quivkly heat it up. This way no snacking while u r preparing dinner or eating the wrong foods

Lately its been a very slow process about a pound a week. I feel good and seem to be able to eat just about anything I try with no problems. I had hoped to lose?a bit more at this point (9 weeks out) but I started with a lower BMI and I guess this is the process.
Water and exersice all good.
Any other low Bmi' ers out there????
Would love to see if they are in the same boat as I am with the slow loss

Ouch... Okay thank you. I heard there is a doctor in Michigan that does sleeve for 11,000 but didn't get his name
thank you
Maybe if its cash its cheaper, i dont know. This?was the price when covered by insurance. The doctor you go to is extremely important. hf is a center of excellence. They have higher standards.

Hello. Can I ask what the cost is for cash pay. I live in Indiana and Michigan would be a lot closer than Mexico if the price is reasonable
Thank you
The cost for a sleeve st henry ford hospital detroit is 16,000. Rny is 17,000. I had the sleeve 7 weeks ago at HF. Im doung great, no ptoblems at all. Cant say enough about my experience at HF.

Good Morning I'm in the early stages of this process but I have been on my CPAP machine since June 2014. I have never experienced dry mouth and I use a full face mask and keep Water in the humidifier. For those who are experiencing dry mouth do you have a humidifier as part of your machine and do you keep water in it?
Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
From my understanding its not the humidifier so muce?as just sleeping with your moth open. I have thw humidifier set and still open my mouth while sleeping.

I got fitted with a CPAP two weeks ago and also have dry mouth problems. I now keep a bottle of Water next to me. It's annoying because drinking more makes me have to get up to go to the bathroom more. I don't have a chin strap- I have a Panasonic Resperonics Dream head thing and a Panasonic base machine with a humidifier. It's Bluetooth enabled so sends out data on my usage. I don't think I'm sleeping with my mouth open because the guy said they'd be able to tell and I'd have to get a full mask. Anybody know if that's true?
Yes true. I have the nasal pad type and at firrst I did very well, no dry mouth. For some reason I am now opening my moth when I sleep and the dry mouth is horrible. From my understanding if you open your mouth during sleep the machine cant do its job. I even have a chin strap, which seems useless.

So you were able to swallow the pill right away?
You dont swallow it. You unloosen the capsule and put it in a spoonful of yogurt.

My surgery is on May 17th. I am worried about the unknown. Am I going to be hungry all of the time after this surgery? I know with the sleeve they take the part of the stomach that drives your hunger. Does this help with not wanting to eat? I was told by someone that the first year is "Hell", then it gets easier. Is there a lot of pain after the surgery? I don't have any doubts that I want and need this surgery, it's just so many unknowns.
Cjqueen b1:
did you have an appointment with your surgeon yet??? Im 4 weeks out and doing great. How ever told you the first year is hell is wrong. With that said, for me its hard because im eating a limited amout and kinds of food. Sounds like to me ypu have not had any appointments with the doc, nutritionist nurse, etc yet. Dont listen to nay sayers. Everyone is different. Some people have a harder time than others, however Ive never hear the 1st yesr is hell. A year out you more than likely can eat most all foods but in a smaller quanity.

That happens ro me also. I think I may have to go to the mask type that covers the nose and mouth. I keep opening our mouth when I sleep and that defeats the purpose of the machine.

HOLLYGOLIGHTLYVSG: I was sor also on that side. Im now 22 days out and it is gone! Can u get a wedge pillow? That may help. Are u on full liquids still. I say that because i was eating a lot of milk products, protien shakes, cottagr cheese, pudding all which are milk based and that made me bloated and gassy. I was told to use unflavored Fiber and that seems to help. It will get better soon probably when u start eating more. Hang in[emoji5]

Ok. Nobody talked to me about hormonal changes. Any time I've had surgery I'm emotional after. I have no idea why. It's weird and I've literally laughed while crying because I feel ridiculous. Hope the good days are frequent and the bad decrease.
Its so crazy isn't it???

60 to 80 grams of protien a day. Buy premier protien drinks, one for Breakfast and another for a snack. Then eat how you normally do. Im 7 month out and hardly had any loss of hair. I was making sure I got that protien in. Good luck to you.
