  1. I have a pain in my complete left side of my abdomen. It goes from the top of my hip to behind my rib and just floats around. Whenever I try to lay down I have to physically move it out of the way or change the position I'm laying in. I can hear it moving if I sit up or lay down to fast. It stops me from sitting all the way up sometimes because it won't allow me or sitting on the toilet because it won't let me bend it can be extremely painful but once it moves out of the way it's fine. I wake up with pain like I'm stuffed to the max but I have eaten in 10hrs, it's just the bubble or bubbles behind my pouch .What is it going to go away, it's so uncomfortable? I was told to try walking and I have, I walk aleast a mile aday just trying to get this bubble to go away. Not to mention the daily walking around the house. What is this? Rny 12/28/16

  2. Yes same here. Had rny on 12-28-16. Trying to get the Protein and Water in on full liquids stage. But no BM. Since before surgery. Pre op I was on milk of magnesia and miralax. So I know I was cleaned completely out. But still nothing.

  3. After surgery your body is in a major heal mode. It is common for some individuals to be unable to meet their daily Protein or Fluid requirements for the first few weeks after surgery. Just keep trying every day and you should be able to get there.

The Fluid requirement is met by a combination of all the fluids you take during a day. It is not only the Water that you drink each day. But also the Water you drink when you take your Vitamins and medicine. It is the milk you drink. It is the fluids content of the Protein shakes. It is the water component of the Soups you take. It is met by flavored water such as Crystal Light. It is met by sugar free popsicles. It is met by tea and Decaf coffee. It is a combination of all the fluids that you consume during the day. It is common for your taste buds to change after surgery. I remember in the hospital after surgery I could not drink the water because it tasted very chlorinated. Some individuals find temperature (hot or cold) affects their tolerance for drinking fluids. In the winter, I found that I tolerate hot drinks such as piping hot cocoa. But you have to use the "No Sugar Added" variety. Also fine English teas were very good. More recently I found a drink at Sam's Club that I buy by the case called Bai.

There are many different types of formulations on Protein Shakes. I would recommend that you keep experimenting until you find one that you can tolerate. You don't have to like it, just tolerate it. I used Muscle Milk Light (Vanilla Creme) powder blended with water and a half a banana. That worked for me. But on the opposite end of the spectrum, you might try premixed Isopure.< /p>

Thank you, I didn't have that understanding that is is everything added.. I assumed it was after your protein just pure water. Now how long until I can use the bathroom?

I would say call and ask your doctor. They would know best. Are you on the Optifast for pre surgery?

    Leslie9595

Sorry I didnt see that you stated that your in pre surgery. But I went to Optifast nutrition class this past Monday and the nutritionist said that the main reason for the optifast is to shrink your liver, since your liver sits on top of your stomach, and by skrinking the liver it will be less of a chance of the liver being nicked during surgery. Now with that being said I would still consult with the doc. We are all humans here and we are goin to fall and make mistakes but it how you get up and how you learn and grow from that mistake is what really matters. You have takin the steps to reclaim your life, be proud and let the haters hate.

Thank you, I don't feel that's it's any certain diet I've been more strict on myself than the surgeon or nutritionist. I've lost 13 pounds in seven days so far am I think I'm doing OK, I just mad a moment of weakness. Plus I'm a waitress worst job ever right now..

  5. I would like to think we've joined this group to receive honest feedback...

    Renea in AL

There's a difference between being honest and rude and not really caring. She messed up, yes. She knows this. But throwing it in her face and questioning her motives is completely uncalled for.

Look, pick yourself up and continue to succeed. It's hard and there WILL be bumps in the road, learn from it and move on.

  6. Okay. If this was pre-op, then no harm, no foul. I am still concerned that you are not taking this as seriously as you should be. Please discuss counseling with your medical team.

Thank you for your input, but Im positive that you have no ideal how serious I'm taking this or mental state because I ate half of a sub. Thank you again and Merry Christmas!!

  7. From a safety point, there is no way you should be eating this kind of food and and in this amount so soon after your surgery. Call your surgeon and speak with his or her team.

This is on you. I am seriously concerned that if you continue to eat like this, you will either injure yourself or eat around your surgery. Get some help.

I haven't had my surgery, I stated that in my post..
