Hey guys,
Got my date for the bypass- 4/4/17. Cant wait until I have this change, my eating is killing me.
Anyway, just two things:
1. Any advice for those going into bypass op?
2. What do you think I could try to not eat so much until I go on to the pre op diet? I feel like a whale- christmas and all, so much food. I laugh about it, but deep down, its appalling- knocking back all these delicious morsels.
Hope u all have had a nice xmas!
Kind regards,
Ashley Menhennett

Hi,
I previously wrote a post in the Bypass forum, asking about malabsorbtion with antidepressant medications. As I am not 100% sure on which method of bariatric surgery I will have yet, Im interested in hearing about anyone's experience with the sleeve, malabsorbtion and antidepressants.
Kind regards,

Hi,
I have had my first consultation with my surgeon. Hoping to have the Bypass next March, yippee!
However, I am scared that I will experience malabsorbtion after the operation. I am currently on an SSRI and a SRI (antidepressants) and they are essential to my wellbeing, my worry is that after the op, my medications won't be absorbed properly and that I will have complications with the medication. The surgeon assured me that it wouldn't happen, he said that its more Vitamins and minerals that are concerned with malabsorbtion. Anyway, has anyone had any problem with malabsorbtion and antidepressants?
P.S I am currently over 145kg. Apparently my ideal weight is < 90kg. Fingers crossed
Kind Regards,
Ashley
