  1. Yeah I'm just questioning it because the different is so vast. To me it's like one doctor telling someone to walk right away after knee surgery vs. the doctor telling them to lay in bed for three weeks. The recovery methods are completely different. 2. Does anyone else think it's really weird how the WLS industry and doctors don't have an agreed upon recovery plans for patients? I've read on here that some people can eat soft foods one week out and others are on liquids for three weeks post op. I know medical care is like this for a variety of different surgeries but it seems weird that the plans vary so much. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Did any of you get the 2 Week Post op stall? How long did it last? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. Thanks everyone. I am reshaping how I look at food but I think it was an extra hard challenge being on the liquid diet. I just can't wait to chew something again. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Yesterday, I hung out with some friends and they all knew I was on the post op liquid diet. The weather wasn't too good outside and they were hungry and decided to order pizza. They started to order and mid-order asked if I was okay with it. Of course I wasn't but I felt stupid saying no so I said it was okay. They ordered it and ate it in front of me even forgetting that I couldn't eat it and offered me some after it came. Do I have a right to be upset about them knowingly ordering a food they know I like even though I said it was okay? I feel like if the roles were reversed I would have never done that to them. 8. You're welcome. A lot of people are deficient on Vitamins and the doctor usually just tells you to take them so you're not alone Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. It won't disqualify you they'll just tell you to take Vitamin D from now on till it's not low Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I had this a week out for about 3 days. I called my doctor and they told me to take half the pain medicine. I did and it helped. Now a couple days later it's gone. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Trying to look at it that way! Thank you for the words of encouragement. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App food addiction is definitely real. I'm counting down the days till I can make healthy choices but able to eat solid food. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I'm on stage 1 right now after my December 16th sleeve surgery. My mom was nice enough not to make a dinner I like this year for Christmas but let me tell you, I'm so sad about it. I know this is part of the process and only temporary but I want all the Christmas goodies I'm used to. I'm trying to remember why I did this in the first place and that has got me through most of the season. Later there's a Christmas party I'm going to where everyone will be drinking and eating and I know I'll be so sad. I wish food didn't have this kind of hold on me. 14. I'm one week post op and I cannot finish one Protein shake. I try to do the 4 oz at a time and can't even really do that. Plus if I do that for one meal I want a different liquid for the next. I know I'm not getting my protein goal in. How long does this last? Did anyone else experience this? I'm worried about my hair falling out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. I wonder if the answer from your doctor would have been different if you drank carbonated drinks instead of coffee. I'm curious. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Every excedrin has aspirin except "mild headache" so you just have to look at the ingredients and make sure you get that one. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Did anyone have an extremely dry mouth around 6 days out post-op? I've been getting my fluids in but all of the sudden starting today my mouth is dry even after drinking Water. I think it might be from the medications but even if it was, why did it just start today? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. "Excedrin mild headache" it must me this version. It contains a small amount of caffeine and is allowed for surgery because the main ingredient is what Tylenol is made of. This means it's not a blood thinner. I was a big regular coke drinker and the first few days without it sucks but with this medicine I was able to overcome it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. HW: 239.7 SW: 229.3 CW: 218.5 It's pretty crazy that I just had surgery December 16th and I'm seeing these changes. 21.2 lbs lost so far and I went to my post op appointment yesterday and the doctor said he's never seen someone recover so quickly. It's probably because I'm 21 and that's why I did recover at a fast rate. Still have had some struggles like head hunger. Who knew there were so many food commercials on tv!? I'm going to stick to Netflix for now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
