  1. Sleeved 11/9 SW 289 CW 249 Had some issues that caused a long stall but doing better now and loosing again. Finding old clothes that I can fit into again so I'm still happy I did it!
  2. I would check with the surgeon. I've noticed tail bone pain and I think it's because my butt is smaller and I don't have that cushion anymore. Lol. I plan on talking to my surgeon at next month's appointment.
  3. For the nausea I bought some essential oils to smell right from the bottle. It helped me so much. It does get better. My nut and surgeon both said any liquid I ingest counts as liquids.
  4. I was sleeved 11/9/16 and have been following my plan religiously. I've had some stalls but not long periods of time. I feel I have more energy, so yesterday I took stairs instead of the elevator out of curiosity and I was able to without my knees making any cracking sounds and without pain. It's been so long since I've been able to do that. I'm so excited! [emoji109]

    Stairs

Definitely unexpected since I wasn't thinking of the little pains.

    What do you tell them?

I'm a little over 2 months post op and someone noticed yesterday and said something. I was asked how and said I was doing the keto diet (which I am...kinda). I don't eat carbs and the carbs I do get are from healthier foods. That satisfied their curiosity.

    Trying Hard Here!

I don't have advise about this because I don't post anything about my surgery or weight loss on fb. However, if I did, I would let them unfriend me because. I don't that in my life. When it comes to parents, I only have my mom and grandma. I did not tell my mom until after surgery and I flat out told her to stop being so negative. Grandma was supportive from the beginning. Bottom line is you don't need negative people in your life. It's not healthy for you even if you didn't get WLS.

    I need help

I had a similar situation. I was getting dehydrated fast. But my nut said popcicles, the liquid mixed with protein power, broth, etc. are considered fluids. So I got creative with all the different flavors of protein. I was nauseous with whey protein but I found ways around gagging with a few flavors by adding frozen berries to some of the flavors mixed with crystal light.

    Food....

What protein are you using? I could not handle whey protein (I would feel nauseous all the time) so my surgeon recommended egg white protein. That might be an option for you. My surgeon and nut where insistent that I focus on liquids and protein. Hope you get it figured out soo.

Where did you find them at?Amazon has them but i got them at the hospital. They have a store the caters to bariatric patients and womens health. I just recently found them at Kroger bt the deli section and cheeses.

    Packing my bags!

Deodorant, tooth brush and toothpaste, a robe and slipper socks. Walking the halls in my hospital gown (or my nightgown) wasn't comfortable for me. The robe kept me covered an warm since I was always cold.

    Red Light Therapy

What types of places offer this service? Tanning or spas? I would be interested in looking into this?

    New food ideas..

I found these at the health store at the hospital where I had the surgery. I also found the bigger sized ones at Kroger grocery store near the deli and cheese section.

    New food ideas..

My nut approved a protein snack between meals. So I eat parmesan crisps (which are approved on my plan). These are what I get.
  15. Salmon, tuna and chicken are my go to meat. I have a really good crockpot chicken dish that I love. The chicken is tender and not dry. 4 chicken breast 2/3 c apple sauce(or more to your taste. I use Santa Cruz Organic brand has no added sugar) 2/3 c sugar free bbq sauce (or more to your taste. I use Guy's Award Winning Sugar Free BBQ Sauce, Original). Throw it all in a crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours. This will last me a long time if I don't share with the kids. Lol. But they love it and I hardly have enough for lunches for the week. You could also cut up the chicken and mix all ingredients before you cook it and divide into the portions your allowed to have (I have 2 and 4 ounce storage containers) and freeze them until you are ready to cook.

    Telling kids?

I told my 21 and 16 yr old the truth. But my 11 yr old, I told her there's something in my stomach that has to be removed so I can be healthy, because she already knew I had tummy issues prior to surgery (I had polyps on the portion of the stomach being removed. Not cancer thankfully).
  17. You can tell her you have to eat a certain way because it's doctors orders. Technically that's true!

    Snacks

The parmesan crisps are my favorite as well. I eat Kitchen Table Bakers Brand.

    This is who I am

I personally don't have any tips, however, I am on a fb group page where people who post say this way of eating has helped them. Maybe google "Keto diet with Lupus" or something similar.

    Is it true?

My sugeon asked me which one I was interested in getting after he explained all surgeries that are available. I picked the sleeve because I didn't want any organs rearranged. My surgeon agreed that was the best option for me. However, if for some reason I need a revision down the road, he said that would not be an issue. Go with what your instincts tell you. It's your body. IMHO.

    Weighing.

I weigh when I think about it. Which averages about once week, depending on my week. I try not to focus too much on it. Edited to add that I would drive myself crazy if I thought too much about it.

    Coffee

I believe my plan says no caffeine at all...ever, only decaf. Which is fine by me because I went throught the withdrawls during recovery and don't want to do that again. I tried drinking some decaf coffee once but it sucked. The flavor was not like it should taste (and yes I've had decaf lots of times). I have discovered that my tastes have changed as well. So things I used to like, I dont now.
  23. "Just make sure you don't become an alcoholic like my friend did. She is now in a nursing home from a car accident while driving drunk and can't take care of herself anymore" Then later found out her friend was an alcohol before wls. smh

    Foods

Anything sweet is too sweet now. Even stevia or the sugar free popcicles. Sweets used to be my weekness but now at almost 8 weeks post op, I don't have most things that are sweet anymore. Everything else seems like the flavor of foods is enhanced.
