I think i was 4 weeks after and have just stayed away from anything fizzy. Vodka and cranberry juice does the trick

I was told I had to wait a year, but I'm not sure I can make that! I'm 6 weeks out and I'm going to attempt to make at least 6 months. I had one sip on Mardi Gras day. I have always liked whiskey but I know the calories are hell

When was the first time you had a drink after surgery? What alcohol works best for you? Share your stories about booze please!

I'd ask your PT what you can do in a regular gym. Swimming or Water aerobics may be options because the Water displaces 60% of your weight, taking a lot of stress off your joints.
Weight lifting is great for calorie burn, and contrary to popular misconceptions, it doesn't make people bulk up.
There's also a device called an arm bike. It's like a stationary bike, but you pedal with your arms. It's a decent aerobic workout if you put the effort into it. It's common in certain types of pt, and paraplegic people use the to train for wheelchair athletics.

I actually use an arm bike at pt! They make me stand while doing t and I only do 5 minutes but I am doing it! I'm gonna start swimming next week!

What's the nature of the injury?
Swimming is a great exercise for people who can't do a full load bearing exercise like running, but it depends on the injury.

I have arthritis in my right knee and patellar tendonitis and bursitis in my right hip from being hit by a ford f 250 2 years ago... I use an anti gravity treadmill at pt but I'm only getting 30 minutes of exercise 3x a week

Have you ever tried a hula hoop? You can search videos on youtube, arm hooping with smaller hoops. I guarantee it works you will also get a great work out having to walk to pick up the hoop when it flies off your arm. seriously....spinning the hoop above your head us one of the best arm exercises there is. I know because I am a hula hooping belly dancer and I can't wait to get back into the circle again! Let me know how if goes for you.
I can't belly hoop I've tried a thousand times and just can't do it, but getting a small hoop would be really good for arms! Thanks!!

I'm trying to find the best exercises for me to do. I have right leg injuries but I need to get more exercise and I want to start toning my under arms so they don't become a completely flabby mess. I am taking suggestions please help!

I don't think you have to tell anyone anything you don't want to. It's none of their business how you choose to get a healthy you.

I'm having a hard time with just liquids. I'm 2 weeks post op as well and all I want to do is chew something. I can have yogurt and pudding...Just not the same. I don't even want anything fatty I just want to chew. I miss salty as well. The broth is ok...but man this is hard. I get to have oatmeal on Wednesday. That might help.

Oh yeah. Everybody is different it's interesting to see how strict some are but not others. They want me to never eat Peanut Butter again but use the PB2 powder instead
