The same thing with me. The scale has not moved since March when I was a size 14, I am now a size 8 yet the my scale and the doctors scale says I have stayed the same. So strange. The doctor says the weight is redistributing itself.

I am months out and I am still very limited as to what I can tolerate. However, being a size 8-10 is much better than a size 24 .Meals times has been a very difficult and emotional time for me I will not lie. I use to love to eat everything, now most foods taste horrible to me or I am unable to keep it down. We have to remember this is a work in progress. My entire life I have eaten when happy, sad, stressed, etc. Now I am unable to eat and have to find other ways to deal. Not easy. But loving they way I look.

dmelch got a reaction from CocoNina in Is anyone having a hard time dealing with all of the new attention? I'm 6 months out.
Not really. I love they way I look, I just wish I was able to more normal food. The doctor said my pouch is very small and I have lost the total amount of weight most people lose at the 1 year mark. I am happy, I went from a size 24 to a size 6-8 and loving life. Meals are a challenge for me, but I think of what I looked like and felt like one year ago and I was a mess.

Your are not a failure. It is probably really bad gas. I had the same issue and it was coming out of both ends at the same time. Try to walk as much as you can, that is what I did. The beginning is always hard. Do not expect to be able to drink much, small sips all day. I only was able to handle chewable vitamins for about 3 months. You should start feeling better in a couple of weeks. That was my major issue, gas and not being able to go to the bathroom. Once you are able to handle more, your bowels will come around . I had my surgery 11.9.16 was a size 22 I am now a size 8. I take Miralax a scoop everyday in my morning Protein Shake. Just think of what you will look like when a couple of months. Try to keep you chin up, this shall pass. I look at myself in the mirror and do not even recognize myself.

dmelch got a reaction from Ravensgrl in Have any surgery gone wrong?? Any hard complications etc.
I had my gastric bypass 11/9/16 I was 237 I am 5'3' and have gone from a size 22 or 3X to a size 10 in 5 months down 88 pounds. Is it easy NO. It has been a re-learning experience everyday since the surgery. I am so glad I had the surgery and only wish I did it when I was younger like you. I also was diabetic and was off all meds 2 days after surgery. My joints no longer hurt, my muscle spasms at night are gone and not bones spurs in my heels no longer are an issue. Wishing you the best.

dmelch got a reaction from JaniceRNZ in Feel like I am going crazy not with the wieght loss but my mind
I have lost almost 90 pounds and I am thrilled with the way I look, the issue is I think I am going crazy. I am yelling and angry all the time. I have no patience with people, especially my husband and daughter. I have so much rage inside of me and I never was like this before the weight lose. I was the jolly, happy person, or was I?
I think I mask a lot of my feeling through food, but now that I am not eating is the real me shining through? I hope not, because I do not like the new me inside, but love the person I see on the outside. I need help and do not know if this is normal or just me? Any advice would be appreciated.

I had gastric bypass surgery in Nov. 2016 and I had to a an ice tea every morning and a coke zero for lunch and dinner. Right before my surgery I was done to 1 coke a day for lunch but made sure it was Decaf. I was so concerned about not being able to drink caffeinated drinks before the surgery. I am 5 month post surgery and have not had any caffeine and I am fine. I have decaf tea now and do not miss caffeine at all. You will be fine.

I was the same weight when I started out. I say enjoy the time while you can. I was also given a book and lost 25 pounds during the 3 month prep time, meeting with the dietician's the fitness guru, phys eval, and group meetings before my gastric bypass. My surgery was 11/9/16 saw the doctors 4 weeks later and will not see him or anyone else from Lancaster Baratric until April. A long stretch. I can go to their group meetings once a month, butit is hard in the winter and I am so very tired after working. My present weight is 176. good luck

Maybe the sleeve is different that gastric bypass, but my surgery was 11/9/16 and I still cannot tolerate food in general. I eat 1 oz. of cheese, done, 1 forkful o turkey chili done, 3 spoonful's of Soup done. I do not understand why after all these weeks I still can not tolerate food. Do not get me wrong, I am 52 pounds down since Nov. 9th, but really can not eat much. Protein shakes keep me going.
