@Finding_Stacy In response to your question.....
In my earlier reply, I did talk about eating a few small slices of pizza. I was eating from a party cut Domino's medium sized pizza. I had a tiny corner piece and small square next to that. So not very much at all. There is no way I could fit in a regular sized slice! I get full fairly quickly, and I knew it when I was full due to the warning signs from my body. I have found other alternatives now than regular pizza to get my pizza craving's in check.

Congratulations on having surgery! I had the sleeve on 4/26 and it has been a learning experience from day one. The challenge for me has been getting in enough Protein, enough Water, my daily medications, dressing changes, etcetera etcetera. I had to write down everything in a notebook to ensure I was doing what needed to be done each day. I am still trying to fit in 64 oz of water daily. I have a pillbox for my meds and Vitamins, and I have a chart I write daily to keep track of protein and water. It is getting easier, and I hope that it gets easier for you. There are a lot of great tips in the forums on here and I have learned a lot by just reading them. You will find what works for you . Until then, we are here for you!!!

Today was a hard day for me. I don't have a reason, it just was. I caved today and had a few small slices of thin crust pizza. I felt like crap afterwards. Now I know why won't be eating regular food like that, lol. The episode is over, lesson learned. I am so grateful to be a part of this group. I know I keep saying that, but it is so helpful to log in and see that others have had the same issues and are learning how to deal with them too. just reading about the experiences helps me to understand more about those issues myself. You all are worth your weight in gold

I would venture to say that the women telling you that are shallow and have no life! Please don't pay attention to negative women like that! There are much better ones out there who believe in quality, not quantity.

@DS1 Thank you for posting those articles about a stall. I am almost 2 weeks post surgery and have hit a stall already. I am a little frustrated. But after reading the article, I learned some useful information which will help me to overcome. I just want to be successful in this venture. I very thankful I found this group

I like the bars, but don't like the fact that they change the recipe every so often. They used to be delicious, but now I only eat one or two flavors because the maker of those bars changed the recipe and texture. Atkins bars are really good. We just found a new bar, The maker of Premier Protein shakes has bars also. My husband says they taste pretty good. I can't try them for a few more weeks due to being fresh post-op. I am excited though

What a great topic idea! I was just sleeved on the 26th so I cant report real progress just yet. I can say that i am mourning food I cannot eat right now. It is so hard to have the Protein Shake while my family eats hamburgers and doritos for dinner. Or having that frosty treat from dairy queen. I know these feelings will pass and I will be so much better once I get farther in food choices once the sleeve heals. I searched the web yesterday for bariatric friendly recipes and I was pleasantly surprised to find many great choices I cannot wait to try! I just need to adapt my mindset and truly appreciate this gift I have been given
Thanks for all of the great responses so far....I love this group

I was sleeved on 4-26, but my surgery was later in the day due to patients ahead of me having more complex procedures. It turns out that I had to have hiatal hernia repair in addition to my gastric sleeve during my surgery. The last few days have been challenging. I am sore and tired, have a jp drain, and I cant lay in my bed yet. I have been sleeping on the recliner sofa in my living room for comfort. I wish I could lay in my bed, but I cannot get comfortable at all ! But I am doing fairly well on the liquid diet with Protein Shakes. I use Premier Protein shakes and I really enjoy the flavors, especially strawberries and cream. It reminds me of Quik drink mix when I was a child. I have managed to keep everything down, knock on wood lol. This is definitely different than I imagined it. I was down the last 2 nights wondering if I did the right thing. I know it is from the pain. I know it will get better and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next few weeks. Good luck to you all

I have a drain tube from my GS surgery 3 days ago. Most of my pain is coming from that site. It doesn't come out until this Friday...patiently waiting lol.

I had my Gastric Sleeve surgery this past Wednesday and got home yesterday afternoon. 3 days post op. in addition to the sleeve, they found a hiatal hernia which had to be repaired. I was up and walking 3 hours after my procedure. I am so sore from the gas and multiple bags of iv fluids, but so happy to be home. I have a drain tube which will be removed next Friday. I have done well on the initial liquid diet, but since starting the stage 2 diet, it feels like the food and the gas are in competition with each other for space, and I am taking small sips during drink time, and small bites during food time. Has anyone else experienced this? Eventually I am able to burp it out, but it is such a weird feeling! Is that normal? Hope everyone is well today

I am having GS tomorrow morning, nervous but excited here! I have learned so much from these forums so far! I believe that reading everyone's experiences will help me to be better at adjusting post-surgery. I stopped drinking pop/soda last September and I do not miss it. I find that my body craves Water and I can tell when I haven't had enough in a day. My issue will be all the junk I used to enjoy. I want to look and feel better, so I know I need to make changes. Thanks to everyone for your great posts and tips

I am having surgery tomorrow
My doctor advises the use of an abdominal binder. We are to have it on before we get up to walk for the first time after surgery. He says it is very helpful. He also says that if the nurses forget to get us one, to remind them before we get up lol.
