How's it going with pre op diet? You're almost there!

Yay! A day before my surgery. We're getting close. I start my liquid diet, 2 weeks from today.

Why would you be upset at 10 pounds lost per month? Have you ever lost that kind of weight that quickly without surgery via old-fashioned diet/exercise? My guess is that the answer is "No."
10 pounds a month is a whopping 120 pounds a year. Realistic expectations are important throughout your weight loss journey.
Since you're a lightweight who is starting out at 220 pounds, I guarantee you'll never be one of those rapid losers who drops 30+ pounds a month, or even 20+ pounds a month.
My starting weight was 218 pounds on surgery day. Most of my monthly losses were single digit (1 to 7 pounds lost each month). It took me 17 months to lose 100 pounds and reach my goal weight.
And you know what? I'm dancing on a cloud, but not because of the weight loss. I'm happy because this is the most realistic opportunity I have to keep the weight off for life.

Just got the call today... Paperwork submitted to my insurance company on 8/29/2017 approved by 9/1/2017 surgery is now scheduled for 9/25/2017. So, I'm officially a September Buddy!

Doing pretty well all things considered. The first 10 days were rough- exhaustions, some pain, getting enough liquids in. Now, I have pretty much no pain at all unless I overdo it on housework. I just get really tired really fast.

I'm tolerating liquids and purrees/soft foods well. Haven't had any real nausea and no reflux or anything.

It took me a few tries to settle on a Protein Drink I could get down the first couple weeks, but now I am far less sensitive. It's amazing how quickly the body changes and adjusts. I'm down 20 lbs from my surgery date. It's kinda crazy.

I've decided not to tell work. I'm using vacation time and taking 10 working days. I'm a database manager and work from home. I've only told family. I know it's no one's business, but I still don't want to hear the negative comments as I'm getting ready for surgery on 9/13. ....only positive vibes right now. I may change my mind after surgery and healed a bit. Just not sure.

I'm traveling 3 weeks after surgery for family vacation. Surgeon said I should be fine to fly. I'm packing my small Ninja blender and plenty of Protein powders so I can take my meals with me. We're staying at an Air BnB so I'll have a kitchen. Surgeon also said I should be able to eat soft foods by then as well. It's definitely going to be a challenge.
In addition to walking on the plane, you can flex your feet at your ankles too (point your toes). I was told that helps as well.

Never in a million years did I expect to see Wildomar on this forum! I'm in Temecula and just had my sleeve done on 8/14 in Poway. Best of luck to you!
