  10. Will do, I contacted my medical advisor and they advised me that it takes a week to get everything into the office and that after they send it off it can take up to 15 days to be approved...I'll call my sins I rance company tomorrow and if they tell me they haven't received my documentation for surgery I'll be paying the office a visit as well Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  11. Yeah, it's so long...I'll just have to pay my deductible with taxes...I would still have hopes for a December date but I would had to start my 2 week preop diet this week and although I'm not a food addict I still don't want to starve myself without anew actual date lol. I will be calling them tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  12. No I'm waiting on approval..but I have sleep apnea and a BMI of 46.2 so I'm not really worried about it not being approved...I was just stating that your plan will tell you if you have any out-of-pocket cost...mine will be 10% of whatever the costs are Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  13. So I've completed all requirements...I have a 46.2 BMI and found out I have low end moderate sleep apnea. I have finished my dietician and psych evolutions and this was all two weeks ago, when should I start calling my insurance company??? Idk if the documenting needed from my surgeon office has even been sent ...I'm freaking out, anxious apnea land becoming extremely impatient. I originally wanted a December date because my deductible has already been met but looks like I'll be having a January date...ugh this is all so frustrating! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  14. I have bcbs illinois but haven't had my surgery yet...but it depends on what your plan covers...my plan covers 90% after the deductible of 2500 has been met Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  15. Hello..again lol. I'm in the pre surgery process wirh Dr. Roshek of the Nicholson Clinic and have met all requirements that the surgeons office has asked of me and my insurance requirements as well. That was a week ago. I wanted to know if anyone has gotten surgery done with the Nicholson Clinic and if and how did they notify you that your documentation had been submitted to your insurance and how long did it take for them to submit the documentation after meeting all requirements. This is not restricted to just the nicholson patients. Everyone is welcomed to reply. I'm just trying to get a better understanding on how all of this works and what time frame I should expect TIA Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  16. Thank you, I'm going to check in yhe next week to see if my letter was sent and then stay on top of it
  17. Only my immediate family and closest friends know Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  18. Thank you, a lot say that my insurance usually approves within a week, I'm hoping my sleep apnea speeds up the process Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  19. So I started the process back in November with my initial consultation on Nov 17th...the only reason I decided to start the process then was because I had I optimally started the process in 2015 but I had to pay 5000 out of pocket to meet deductible...so it was put off..until November when my mom brought up the subject again and instead of going to her surgeon who we suspected was out of network and that if we go in network I would pay 2500...well I found out my momma basically hit the deductible for individual and family, so I soon after scheduled my initial consultation with the surgeon of my choice. I let him know that I hit my deductible and was trying to get a December surgery date. I've met all requirements and am pretty much waiting on approval now. To stay on Track I'll be starting my preop diet tomorrow in hopes of a December 28th date. If all doesn't work out and I don't get scheduled for December and my deductible resets does any one know any actions I could take against my insurance company...I've coming cared multiple times with them and it's on record that I hit my deductible. I'm going to be pissed if I have to come out of pocket to me the deductible. TIA Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  20. I'm a very strong willed person and when I've made up my mind no one can change it...I have two female best friends...one of them knew me since 9th grade and saw me at a size 1, she stayed slender and I did not, so her support was beaming through the roofs..my other friend met me after I had gained weight...I think I may have been about 200 lbs when I met her..I'm 265 with a bmi of 46.6 now and she isnt as supportive but she is also obese but she knows me well enough to know that idc how she feels..my mother wieghed less than me but had hbp, sleep apnea, and diabetes runs on her paternal and mother side and she went and got the sleeve done so my sisters, daddy and mommy are all on bored...my two male best friends are on bored although one has vowed to revenge me if anything is to go wrong lol and the guy that i'm dating right now is on board as well...he just wants me to be happy...although Idc about anyone's opinions on what I do with my own body its an really awesome feeling to know that I dont have to deal with the negativity of those I care about...Good Luck!! and remember this is your decision, I'm 23 and people feel I'm too young and diet and exercise should be enough..but I want to get to a comfortable weight to go exercise and not to mention my sleep apnea, and high blood sugar...the surgery will help reverse thoughs...just remember, you arent doing this for them and you dont need their approval..again good luck to you
  21. I don't get hungry after smoking...I'm just want to sleepSent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App I do understand, although multiple people have smoked right up until their surgery dates...I'm not a heavy smoker but my mothere said I'd they test me and im.positive they won't go through with the surgery. So that's the reason I wanted to know...I'll put a pause on it until I get clarification from my surgeon You do understand that anesthesia puts you into a deep sleep right? I would talk to the doctor about it, you will at least want to have a good gap in time between smoking and being put under. I would think the fact that it makes you sleepy would be a huge worry for the anesthesiologist who will be putting you to sleep for the surgery. 24. Hello, so I've started smoking weed to combat my borderline personality disorder and wanted to know if they test for weed preop...I literally just started and haven't smoked much but I wanted to know the chances of it hindering me getting my sleeve done. I'm still in the process of getting worry thing ready to be sent over to my insurance for approval...no date has been set yet. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  25. Omg, I was going to post about piercings for some suggestions, I have my septum, nose, tragus and tongue pierced and am not about to take them out..although all of my jewelry are titanium and do not conduct electricity and aren't magnetic I'm afraid they'll make me take them out so now I have to go look for bioplast jewelry and retainers
