No worries, I'm having tons of doubts and fears, I think its only natural! I'm only 20 and I'm afraid that I'm gonna have to spend the reast of my life feeling akward at parties and such when I can't have a piece of pizza or other types of foods that aren't well handled by the lap band. I sometimes feel like this is so drastic, but at the same time, I know that I can't do this alone, and I really don't want to spent the rest of my life miserable and obese...

ugh Kammi I am totally PIGGING out!!! I'm sure it will get even worse the last week before my liquid diet, which is er, next week? Pizza is my favorite food!!! (I'm eating it right now...) Oh food... If I could only eat pizza the rest of my life I would be ok with that.... I'm going to miss it SO much! I hope I'm lucky enough to tolerate a slice or 2 once in a great while....

His name was Michael Johns, not John Michaels, (the whole 2 first name thing can be comfusing lol) and I totally agree with you, at the time I didn't really have a favorite, I like this show but in the past there have been so much more talented people than this year, (Chris Daughty, Katherine McPhee, obviously Kelly Clarkson, etc.) This year I feel like its some high school talent show, no one is SUPER amazing, it feels like none of them deserve to be an American Idol, they are all very very talented, don't get me wrong, but I don't see any of them with that "WOW" voice, the closest was maybe David Cook singing phantom... I think out of everyone Michael Johns would have been the best choice, although out of my 2 favorite idols I mentioned before, niether won, so it seems to be the same deal every year.

As most expectant mothers do prior to giving birth, I'm in this crazy nesting phase! I'm in the process of cleaning out my whole room and throwing tons of crap away. I feel if my room is clean and neat and I know where everything is then I will be a healthier person. I'm going to be getting rid of some pounds so why not get rid of some crap! I also need to start buying all sorts of stuff prior to my liquid diet and surgery! I know I need to get Protein shakes and stuff, but I'm getting so overwhelmed!!! I need like, a straightforward list of everything I should buy or do prior to my liquid diet start date of May 19th... Please help me create my list!!!!! Any ideas or suggestions about what you guys have been buying and such would be greatly appreciated!!! :thumbup:

I'm starting to realize more and more as my band date gets closer and closer that I rely on food as a friend, its my BEST friend!!! I'm getting really sad about it, but at the same time, I know that its the food I love that MAKES me so fat and unhealthy!!! Most of my friends don't eat like I do, as much as I deny it. My biggest fear is that I'm going to miss food so much it drives me nuts!!!! Also that at parties and stuff I'll be super tempted to eat tons of pizza or something, and will make a fool of myself when I can't keep it down, and so many other things. Now that we are just waiting for our bands I think its only human to start dwelling on our fears.

May is the most beautiful month, at least here in New England, in May all the trees blossom with their flowers and the grass starts growing again and it stops raining!!!! Its a time of re-birth, for mother nature, and for all of us!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!

I wish I could be on some kind of sensible diet, but the pre-op diet for my surgeon is ten days, liquids only. I wouldn't mind it so much but my whole family is going to cape cod for my grandfather and my uncles birthdays. Its something we do every year, it also falls 4 days into my liquid diet. We are camping so I'm really worried I'll be tempted with all the bacon and eggs for breakfast, the fresh cape cod seafood for lunch and dinner, and all the smores and birthday cake at night. My grandfather is getting up there in age so I really don't want to compromise any time with him so I'm not about to not go. I'll just spend the day at the beach drinking protein, so maybe that might help. Good luck with all the diets everyone! I'm just trying to think of how it will help in the long run!

Hey there!! I finally have my date!!! May 29th, I have to start my 10 day liquid diet on the 19th, and I'm going camping in cape cod memorial day weekend!!!! So its gonna be pretty rough being on a liquid diet while I'm on vacation... I'm afraid I'll cheat!

Yeah I had a scholarship but I had to mainting a 3.5 and that didn't work out lol... But I would still be pissed off, I'm not sure how it all adds up, but I think a B is lower than a 3.5, that might be a B+/A- I'm hoping that when I go to get a job being an art teacher, that since I get mostly A's in the art and education classes for my major that will look good. The C's I have gotten have all been in gen ed's (science and history mostly) I'm sure since you have mostly great grades this won't affect your transcript much, but its still not fair. Haha I had to take spanish too, I managed a B- but I'm terrible at languages!

Hey everyone, I suppose after floating around these May threads since I first came to this site, I'll finally formally introduce myself! My name is Allison, I am 20 years old, I live in Attleboro, MA, and I love it here! It's about an hour south of Boston, and 10 mins north of Providence, RI. I am a college student at Bridgewater State College, in Bridgewater MA. I live with my parents (ew) and waitress part time for some extra cash. I have two dogs I love and lots of great friends. BUT I've always been fat, always, since early elementary school. Back then I was the only fat one, I lived in a fairly healthy, active family, but just kept gaining weight. Now my mom is overweight as well as my 11 year old brother. My dad and my sister are both athletes though. I have always been very active, participating in different sports and dance and theater in highschool, and have always dieted, but nothing seemed to get me at a normal weight. I'm so excited to have a date and I really hope everything works out!!!

Hey Laura, I know what you mean about the "I don't give A's teachers" I'm a sophomore in college and have dealt with a couple. One of my professors gave A's on papers, but wouldn't for a final grade!!!! I didn't get A's on all my papers, but still, if someone HAD gotten all A's.... and then ended up with a B??? Thats not right. I've had a lot of great professors in the two years I've been here, but there are def ones who think an A means perfect, and none of their students are perfect. There are also a lot of professors that think THEY are perfect, and no students can measure up to them, but I digress... Oh yes, and what you said about the interviews scares me! I have about the same number of B's and C's, with a couple A's here and there in my college transcript. I have also withdrawn from a few classes. As long as I can keep my GPA above the 2.5 required by my major (Art Education) I'm happy. I hope wherever I go looking for a job is too... Good luck with your classes in the future! I hope you never have to deal with this particular teacher ever again!
