I am so excited for everyone, I literally have butterflies and all sorts of tingleys in my stomach for you May firsters!!!!! Marine I know what you mean! I love eating!!! It's a hobby of mine, well, obviously, lol. I know there are so many success stories out there, but there are also a lot of not so successful stories. I feel that this is really going to motivate me to do some good, healthy things for myself, I'll finally start going to the gym that I've been paying $20 a month for and hardly EVER go! I won't feel obligated to stuff my face when I go out to eat (well because I won't be able to but still...) I won't have this mentality of "why watch what I eat, I'm already fat, whats another couple pounds..." I am so nervous about what my dumb, judgemental friends are going to say, and how they are most likely all going to try to convince me to not do this, but I know this is the right thing to do and I couldn't be more excited!! My friend, who is the 19 year old guy, does have to take a combination of pills everyday, he has epilepsy as well and takes one for that, as well as some type of hormone.

I'm sure everything will be fine! My best friend had a pituitary tumor when he was 17, hes 19 now and doing fine. They removed it through his nose as well. Now he is in college and doing great, I'm sure you will too! You're in my thoughts! Allison

Thanks Becky! Yeah I love living here, its perfect, right near the cape, right near Providence and Boston, 4 hours to NYC, about an hour to the mountains, everythings right here! Where do you love now??? Nantucket is beautiful but I haven't been there in years! My friends and I want to take the ferry to either of the islands this summer.

:biggrin::thumbup: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT A DATE!!!!!!!:w00t::smash: Alright so this morning I was working on my homework when the surgeons office called me. She schedualed my pre-op appointment for the 12th, and asked me when I was expecting to be banded, I mentioned my situation about school coming up on June 2nd, so she gave me a couple dates open towards the end of May! I picked the 29th! Its a lucky number for women in my family, most of us are born on it! Me in Feb, both my grandmothers, one in August and one in March, my great grandmother and one of my cousins in September, (those are just the ones I remember off the top of my head.) I'm not sure whats going on with the insurance, I must have gotten approved if they are already schedualing a surgery day! SO May 29th is my date!!!! Thanks for all your good wishes! They must have really worked!

No date yet, :wink2: I've had all my testing done for about a week and a half now, I am probably going to call the surgeons office today and just make sure they have everything. I really want to get in there and see him so I can get the ball rolling! I have finals coming up in the next couple weeks and TONS of papers and projects and such to finish so I am super stresssed out right now, it would be a nice relief to finally have a date :tt2: Anyways, good luck again to everyone with dates coming so soon!!! Bandfan, I can't wait to hear about how everything goes!!!

Hey Kim, I actually worked as a waitress at Gilette stadium. I worked all the football games and served the players and such, it was alright but the days were REALLY long, I left a couple months ago. But yeah when I was there there was always tons of construction and such and it took forever to actually get into the parking lot.

Good job with the dieting, I'm not doing so well with that... as I mentioned before, but at least I've been able to cut out soda all together, alright except for the occasional shirley temple er, and a couple nights ago I went a little hog wild and had some tequila shots, er maybe 7? LOL, I hope I can still tolerate occasional tequila and vodka after the band, I don't drink that much, maybe once every couple months, but I hope that doesn't increase once I can LEGALLY drink, ha. SO now I'm just waiting for my surgeons office to call. I was hoping it would be this week, but I'm still waiting, impatiently!!!! How long was it before you all heard from your surgeons after all of the testing and such, (sleep lab, psych eval, bloodwork, getting your letter from you pcp, etc.) Thanks :grouphug:

Good for you! Both of those things are very difficult, giving up soda, and becoming a nurse. One of my best friends just graduated from college and is now an RN, she worked her toosh off!!! So kudos to you!!! And giving up soda!!! I used to be ADDICTED to soda. I have tried weaning off and now I won't even touch coke or pepsi, I hate it now! Its gotten to the point where I'll occasionally have orange soda (mmm) or shirley temples, I don't even like any other kind anymore, so it can be done! :rolleyes2:
