Weigh in... how much have u lost?

I haven't really been working out, but at my job I get an intense workout from lifting trays and constantly running around all day. I didn't weight myself for a couple days and when I finally went to the doctors I was down 3 pounds!!! Yay! I really need to start working out now and hopefully the pounds will keep coming off!

I need to clean out my closet too! I did before surgery but I still wear like, 10% of the clothes in there lol. My mom said that once I hit my first goal, (which is to finally be under 200 lbs!!! Only 4 pounds to go!!!) she'll take me out to go shopping for some new outfits!!

You know you are a bandster when....

You know how to use all of your friends microwaves like they are your own because you are constantly bringing over your own soups and such
  7. I'm a full time student a Bridgewater State in Bridgewater, Mass, a small town near Cape Cod, but I'm taking a summer course in Fall River, Mass, at the community college. My surgery was on Thursday, May 29th, and class started on Tuesday, June 2nd. I was miserable the first couple days, and ended up missing the first class but I made it there on Thursday, the 4th. I was a little uncomfortable sitting in a desk with only one break for 4 hours, (yeah... a 4 hour class... ) but I made it and now am pretty much back to normal, so yeah I waited a week. I think its just up to whenever you feel comfortable, because everyone is different. My class is tues. and thurs. but I could have made it to class on Wednesday if I had one.

    Alcohol

I'm not a big drinker, but the last couple weeks have been "party season" for me. Grad parties, fathers day, BOTH of my parents birthdays (June 20th - moms 49th, June 21st - dads 50th) and everyone keeps offering me drinks! I've haven't had one yet but was curious about when it would be okay to have a margarita! My dad makes the best frozen ones!! I want to ask my doctor but feel weird since I'm still underage lol. My parents know I'm not a big partier or binge drinker or anything so they don't care if I have a drink or two at parties and such, but everyones different.

    Anyone else eating normal?

Hey Shannon! Hang in there, I've cheated more times than I will let my self admit, but I make sure I chew really good and don't eat more than a nibble of something, like a chip or a french fry here or there. I wouldn't worry about it!!! And congrats on getting the staples out! I got mine out two and feel worlds better. I honestly think a big reason I felt so crappy was the staples. I couldn't move, shower, sleep, or dress without a lot of problems because of them, now that I can do all these things with comfort and ease, I'm feeling so much better, STAPLES STINK!!!! I'm so glad their gone, although the scars from them aren't exactly cute. Mine are bright red still, but at least I'm not itchy anymore!! How are yours looking??

Hey ladies! Just checking in!!! I feel a lot better now that I can eat more types of food, still mushies and soft foods and such but I feel better. I'm down 23 pounds! I just said in another thread that when I graduated highschool in June 2006 I weighed 209 lbs, Before the start of my pre-op diet I weighed 229. Today I weigh 206! I can't believe I was able to undo more than two years of damage in about a month!!!! I know that theres even more to come once I start excersizing lol

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

When I graduated highschool in June 2006 I was 209, before I started my pre-op diet on May 19, I weighed 229, thats 20 pounds in two years gained, but I lost 23 pounds in about 23 days!!!! I'm really excited I was able to undo two years of damage in under a month! It will only get better once I start excersizing again!

    Exersice Band Wagon

I am going to start excersizing this week. I excersized pre-band, not as much as I would like to because I was always running out of breath and getting really tired. I've lost 23 pounds without excersizing, but I know I need to start if I want to loose any more! I went back to work a couple days ago and oh my god, I was beat! I am a banquet waitress at a county club, and I worked a big wedding, I carried heavy trays, and was on my feet running around all night. The next day I was BEAT! But it helped me get back into the swing of things.

NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!

So I've been pretty busy lately, and I hadn't really noticed mush weight loss, but I went back to work a few days ago and people (who don't know about my surgery) all thought I looked amazing! Also, My work pants were super baggy and kept hanging down my butt all night. I'm sure all the guests at the wedding didn't think it was nice, but I sure did! (I'm a banquet waitress at a country club lol) My work shirt was too big so they gave me a womens large and it fit! (I always had to wear a mens large) I can't wait until I need a new tuxedo vest, I still fit into the mens large, but I can't wait to wear a women's vest!
  15. Thanks for checking in!!! Congrats on getting your date! I knew everything would work out good for you!!!! I've lost about 23 pounds. The 20 pounds came off really fast, the last 3 were really hard though. I just went back to work so that helped, I have not started excersizing though, and I am pretty much eating the same types of food every day, yogurt, soup, water, protein shake, so that can't be great for my metabolism. I'm pretty optimistic though, my work pants were sliding off my butt when I went back to work, (I'm a banquet waitress and wear the whole tuxedo shirt/pants/tie/vest combo lol.) I'm so glad things are going well for you!!! The pre-op diet is super rough yes, but now that I am eating more normal foods, that is all a thing of the past and I feel great. Right after surgery, I was miserable and nauseous, I was filled with regret. But now I have come through to the other side, I feel great!!!! Keep in touch!!!

  16. nope not yet :( I'm hoping soon cause I'm starving!

    I am scheduled for May

I have no idea how much I should be eating, I feel hungry all the time still, and am rarely full anymore. I haven't been eating anything any more "solid" than chicken noodle soup and a little bit of mac n' cheese a couple days ago. I'm too nervous to try anything else, I'm still on "mushies" so I couldn't anyways, but I doubt I would have any problems getting things down. I know I have the big 10cc band and no fill, so hopefully this is why I have yet to feel any affects, and not me eating soup too fast has stretched out my pouch :frown:

    Anyone else eating normal?

Ugh I am so discouraged right now. I have been eating tons of soup and even mac n cheese. I am always hungry and nothing fills me up. I'm afraid I'm going to stretch out my pouch! I haven't tried anything like bread, or anything totally solid unless you count the mac n cheese, but I probably wouldn't have any problem getting it down. The problems I had the first few days I have figured out were from swelling. I could barely get down a popsicle and not I can eat like, 6 in 10 mins. I haven't lost any weight in a week. I know there are down periods and such before you can have a fill, I'm just nervous this isn't going to work for me even though I've been trying. I haven't been counting calories though, I know I should be getting in around 1000, eh.

    I shouldn't have told people.....

I have only had my band since the end of may, and I have already yelled at most of my friends. When we went out for dinner, I ordered soup, and every other word out of anyone at the table was, "be careful allison, don't eat too fast, pace yourself." I finally snapped! I was like, this is why I don't want a lot of people to know. I only told about 6 close friends. Then at a pool party a few days later, there were a lot of people who don't know, nor do I want them to know, but a couple of those same annoying friends were babying me, "I don't think you can swim, be careful on the trampoline! Want some mac and cheese? Oh yeah you can't eat..." The people who don't know were starting to get confused about all this, I just said I was on a strict diet and trying rally hard to loose weight, I couldn't come up with any more excuses but they moved on. I was never more mad in my life at the couple friends who were doing this. I know they are just trying to make sure I'm ok but I can take care of myself. Its been about a week and I won't talk to the one friend who was doing most of the "blabbing" still. I need him to realize that keeping this a secret is important to me and I'm not taking his big mouth lightly.

NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!

Yesterday me and a bunch of my friends were all hanging around my best friend angelas big inground pool. Since I still can't go swimming, I just wore a black cotton tube top and some black bathing suit bottems. A bunch of friends who I haven't seen in months, who don't know about the surgery, even that I was on a diet or anything, all said that I looked like I had lost weight. One of my friends who I haven't seen since last fall (this is the first time I've seen a lot of these people since they left for collge) even did a double take because she wasn't sure who I was for a second! Haha I don't see THAT much of a difference, but I do definately notice it right around my rib cage where your bra sits, the weight loss there is making my boobs look huge!!!!!!!! hahaha

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

I know what you mean about each day being able to eat more and more. I'm still on liquids until I move on to mushy foods tomorrow, but I've used to get full after surgery from a few popsicles. I think maybe it was all the swelling that was giving me such problems getting stuff down. My first appointment with my doctor is tomorrow. I'm hoping I'll get my staples out, I'm not sure what else he'll do. I haven't lost any weight in the last couple days and its kind of discouraging.
  22. I love them!!!!!!!!! I can't say enough good things about them. And they are still sexy and "normal," they don't have 5 inch wide straps or like 14 hooks on the back like most full coverage bras made for bigger ladies do. And they come in good colors and are super satin-y, I have ones in purple, black, and gold. I call the gold one my Beyonce bra hahaha. Hahaha the whole 14 hook thing reminds me of a funny story, a little risque if you don't mind lol, some time last summer I was fooling around with this really hot guy I met in school, and the time came when he tried to unhook my bra lol, when it wouldn't come off he seemed confused, went back to check, and noticed he wasn't close to finished unhooking hahahahahha. He was like, oh sorry I didn't know they made bras with this many hooks..... Oh my god I was so embarrassed! At least I can laugh about it now lol.
