I managed to do a couple push ups today, REAL pushups, not the crappy girly ones on your knees... I haven't been able to do a push up since I was maybe 10? I haven't lost any weight in a while but that made me feel good

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

Congrats to everyone! I on the other hand haven't lost a pound in about 3 weeks, but I've been so busy I've only gone to the gym like, twice and have been eating as much of and whatever I want, I'm always starving!!! I'm not too worried though, I've been to busy to worry! I go for another fill on the 20th, maybe that will help with the constant hunger pangs
  6. I had surgery on May 29th. I haven't lost any weight in the last 3 weeks, but i haven't really been to the gym once in the last 3 weeks and have been eating pretty much whatever i want lol. I need to get my butt to the gym and get another fill~!

  7. oh no!!! I hope everything is ok! Congrats on the weight loss! I haven't lost any weight in the last 3 weeks, although I haven't gone to the gym once, and am always REALLY hungry, i've been so busy though i haven't really had any time to let it bother me yet, and at least i haven't gained any weight. I hope everything is going good!

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

I went to the doctors today and apparently I am down 8 pounds from my last visit exactly 2 weeks before! SO even though I've didn't really think I had been eating that well lately, he didn't think I needed another fill and told me to wait for our next visit 3 weeks from now for my 2nd fill. Yay I'm so pumped! Although the doctors scale is always like, 2 pounds less than my electronic one... hmmm...

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

Ugh so last night I went to the movies and we snuck snacks in (rebels!!) hehe. I brought a big bag of cheddar chex mix and ate like, half the bag while we were sitting there! I wasn't even that full afterwards! Tomorrow I go to the doctor and I'm going to ask for another fill. I got home this morning and weighed myself, I had been at a steady 197 all week and I was 197.5, laaame.

    I am scheduled for May

Thanks!!!!! Ahough I've been cheating a bit when it comes to all the rules regarding liquids and such with dinner... I take a sip or two, hopefully I'll ween myself off eventually. Hang in there! You've done so great so far that scale will be at 199 before you know it! :smile2:
  14. I can answer that last question, Regardless of what you're going back to, I think you need a good few days, I was banded early on a Thursday morning, I felt good when I went home Friday morning, but as soon as the morphine wore off, I was miserable until around Monday, and went back to school on Tuesday, but it was still really uncomfortable to even just sit in a desk for a couple hours. I had a lof of problems with nausea and dizzyness, but everyone is different, its really up to you and how your body reacts to things. I would just recommend making sure you can get more than a day or two off from work, just to be safe.
  15. Hey there! Oh my goodness I remember feeling what you're feeling! The early hours of the morning before my surgery I couldn't sleep, and was also on this website freaking out lol. I don't think I have too many words of wisdom, everything went by pretty fast, and you'll be doped up the entire time lol. The worst part was before surgery, and that was just the nerves. Make sure you have someone there to hold your hand! After that I'm sure you will be well taken care of by the hospital staff  Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great!
  16. Yeah soup does a good job of filling me up. I ate a lot of it while I was on the pureed and mushy food stages and was impressed by how much weight was coming off from eating a lot of soup. I haven't heard anything specifically about not eating it from my doctor, but what you said makes a lot of sense, I actually remember thinking that.

Do any of you get "crap" from RNY

I just got back from my best friends house, I had to pick her little sister up from a concert because of all the storms here and then brought her home just as my best friends mom was getting home from work. I looked like crap and was just in my pajamas, but when her mom saw me, she couldn't get over how thin she thought I looked. Personally I don't really see it, but I do see myself everyday, she doesn't see me as much and hadn't seen me in a few weeks, she made me do a couple spins and then said how proud she was of me. Even though she can be hard on me I was glad she is recognizing my efforts, with the help of my band of course.

    Tolerable/Intolerable foods?

I can eat whatever I want, but I've only had one tiny tiny fill so far and I can tell that its not working at all lol. I'm eating slightly smaller portions, but nothing really noticeable. Either something is wrong with my band (hopefully not), or its the fills that really make a difference in how much you can eat and how full you stay. I chew well and eat slower, I was being really really cautious at first, but once I noticed I have no restriction I eat the same foods I did pre-band pretty much, just less of it, although I'm pretty picky, all I really eat is chicken, soup, cheese and crackers, and sometimes things like mac n cheese and spagettios, I don't think many people have problems with most of these foods.

Do any of you get "crap" from RNY

Right now my best friends mom is going through all the pre-stuff for getting the RNY surgery. She's filling my friends head with all these negative things shes "knows" about the lap band, like how apparently having the lap band makes it easier to "cheat" and how you can't eat any of the foods you like. People are just ignorant and need to be educated. Unfortunately some people are just stuck in their ignorance and refuse to aknowledge that they might be wrong about something. A few of my friends parents have had the RNY done, some have had tons of success, a couple are bigger now then they were pre-surgery. No surgery is a miracle cure-all. People have to work at loosing weight. When people are being stupid and judgemental, I just try to ignore them. I know that I have made the right decision.
