    Approved in One DAY!!! BCBS

BCBS MA does not require a 6 month wait, as far as I know. I have BCBS MA and don't have to do a 6 month diet or anything like that. Good luck!

    I am scheduled for May

I cannot wait to, - Live life like a normal 20 year old girl!!!! - Go to a night club with my friends and not feel like I am embarrassing them - Go on a vacation with my family and not be a burden - Go to a beach with my friends and get up and go in the water!!! Instead of hang around the towel - Walk around campus and not have to stop every 2 mins to take a breath or wait a half an hour for the bus to come - Have a guy pick me up when he hugs me - Not have to waste my money in physical therapy for my back problems with a bunch of elderly people - So many other things. I can't wait!!!!!

    Getting & keeping a boy/girlfriend?

Hey bergdorfblonde, thanks for all the insight, your success is really an inspiration. I'm kind of in a rut right now with school, work, money (I have none lol), where I live (mom and dads:bored:), even in the past couple weeks my love life seems to be going down the tubes, I guess I just need to look at the bright side of things. You mentioned you love your career, what do you do? And where are you from? just curious :huh2: Allison

    Any Teens ?

Hey there! I'm from Mass too, south eastern though, I live in Attleboro, about 45 mins south of Boston, 10 mins north of Providence, and about an hour from the cape. Do you go to school?? I have a bunch of friends that go to school out in western mass (UMass Amherst, MCLA, Westfield, etc.) I'm glad your surgery and such went so well! Kepp us updated on your progress!!! :huh2: P.S. good luck with everything Sarah! I have to do a sleep study too but it is a requirement by the surgeon so all of his patients have to do it, eh, keep us updated as well!!

    Any Teens ?

Er I don't think I can help you out on this one. My surgeon has informed me that he has worked with many patients that have my insurance (blue cross blue shield) and they cover the entire procedure, the only money the patient has to pay is a $175 charge for the psych eval and then the hospital co-pay, which, I've been told, is somewhere from $250-$500, depending on the time you stay. But he said every company has different requirements/costs and such, so who knows. Try checking out the insurance and financing threads, maybe they have some insight over there. Good luck!!!

    Here I go.......

Thanks Sue!! I appreciate any advice you have!!! After my sleep lab I have class at 11:00 in Bridgewater so I hope I don't have much trouble getting cleaned up. I'm hoping I have someone around to help me, is it really that bad? I have very long, thick hair that is my "crowning glory" hahhaha, how do you get it out?? Does it come out with shampoo/brushing? Its funny that your daughter is 20 because my mom is also 48 lol. Thanks so much for all the help! No more questions right now but I'm sure I'll have some in the near future :huh2:

    Any Teens ?

I'm glad the surgery itself went well for you!!! When I have gas pains (usually from eating taco bell hahaha) lying flat on my back with my knees in the air always helps too. After I get banded I'll have to see what works best. Hope you feel better and better each day!

    I am scheduled for May

Alright heres some more venting lol, Ahh I'm worried. I talked to a lady that was banded by my surgeon and it look her like 4 months to get banded from her frist appointment! My surgeon said it usually takes 2-3 months and I was hoping that since I schedualed everything fairly quickly it would be the 2 months. According to her though, it look a while for the surgeon to contact her, since HE is incharge of schedualing the second consult, where he gets your insurance approval and pretty much scheduals your surgery. I dunno, I love this thread! Its the one place I feel I can come and vent! I feel so welcome! I really hope to be banded in May, I know I've mentioned this a million times, its just always on my mind. All I can do now is wait and hope

Cheer up bizzy bee! Hopefully it will be nice out tomorrow and you will be in a better mood. I love when the sun starts coming out and flowers and such poke outta the ground this time of year hehe, always puts me in a better mood. Ugh today I had a horrible day too, but I spent the night goofing around with some friends and it really helped me out. Earlier today I went to my "on again off agains" house, just to see if he was around to hang out, and he was there with some other girl. Not that this kind of stuff doesn't happen a lot. We have been on and off since 2004, he is my best friend ALWAYS, but if everything is "good" with us in departments other than "just friends" he always goes and f**ks it up like this. I find someone else, but always end up back with him, because he is still my best friend, I can't stay away! *Sigh* Just needed to vent since my friends here have heard enough about all the crap he pulls on me. Lol talk about off topic....

    Hello from Boston!

Oh yeah and the Dr. didn't mention anything about loosing weight. If I lost weight I don't think I would qualify for surgery though, because my BMI hovers around 40-42. If you have a lower BMI do they still want you to loose weight??

    Hello from Boston!

Hey I'm from Attleboro. I'm hopefully being banded by Dr. Adam Glasgow at Norwood Hospital too, however I'm still doing all my pre-op stuff, so everything is still not 100%. I've already met with the nutritionist and I have my bloodwork, pcp meeting, sleep lab, and psych eval all within next thursday and friday so that should be exciting (er, exhausting). Sue, I keep finding you on a bunch of different threads lol, how long did it take after you finished all your appointments for Dr. Glasgows office to contact you/have the appointment/get approval from insurance/have surgery? Lol I know thats a lot of questions, I'm just curious about the time frame because I'm still going to school over the summer. Thanks

    Any Teens ?

No its a requirement from my surgeon. There is a thread going on about them right now, go to the pre - op questions an answers, its one of the newest threads, titled Sleep Study Tomorrow Night!!! That has a lot of info about different peoples experiences with them.

    Any Teens ?

You have to spend the whole night there sleeping covered in all these crazy tubes and censors and such while they watch you and moniter your sleeping and breathing. I haven't had mine yet but I'm not looking forward to it lol.

    American Idol '08

Me and my parents have a theory, (yes they watch AI too lol.) Remember when Chris Daughtry got voted off? Everyone loved him and I definately think he was the best on the show that season. Now he is super successful, BUT we think that people at home tend not to vote for the "favorites" people just assume they are going to obviously get by, they are talented and attractive and everyone loves them, so lets vote for the underdogs. We figure enough people do this and the favorites go home! Thats how people like Taylor Hicks win! (no offense, he's such a nice guy! but seriously? HE won American Idol? Come on my dad is probably more talented than him! lol) I remember when Chris got voted off, the judges and the audience were so shocked! We thought there was gonna be a riot! It was the EXACT same reaction when Micheal was voted off. My dad was like, "look at Chris Daughtry's success I hear him on the radio all the time." Hehe oh dad, but my point is I'm sure Michael has created enough of a fan base he will have success, with or without winning American Idol.

    I am scheduled for May

hey everyone! Ugh this morning I woke up with the biggest headache and these weird dizzy spells. I got up to go to the bathroom a couple times and actually fell over and could barely see straight. I'm laying down right now (with the laptop on my stomach lol) but I still feel a little weird. I dunno hopefully it goes away. Welcome to all these new may flowers! Still don't have a date yet, next thursday and friday I have all my appointments, and school and work. I have school all day an hour away, then I go straight to the appointment with my PCP to get a letter of medical necessity, then I go straight to work, then straight to the sleep lab an hour away, then back home for bloodwork, then hopefully I have time to go change and go straight to school again, then I have to go straight to the hospital I had the sleep lab in for the psych eval right after school. BUT at least after thats all over I know I'll be closer to my band just felt like venting a bit lol. Good luck to everyone! I know this is gonna be a really busy month for all of us!

    Any May Bandsters?

Hi Aquameliza I'm from Attleboro, I don't have a date yet but I'm assuming it will most likely be in May (hopefully) I was just in Boston yesterday at the MFA doing a project for school (I'm an art major at Bridgewater State) Were much closer to Providence (about 10 mins north) we live about 45-50 mins south of Boston (depending on traffic lol) so its not too far. My surgeon is in Norwood. Where are you from?

All you people do is complain...

I got a black lab named Bogart when I was 6 months old, so we grew up together. He died a couple years ago when I was about 18, so he was about the same age. He really was such a good dog and I miss him a lot. I love having little dogs now though, they are really like my babies, I carry them around and they sleep in my bed and they are convinced they are little humans, but they will never be as good as Bogart. They bark, and have "accidents" they hate going outside unless the weather is perfect, a little drizzle or wind and they are whining to come back in. Oh dogs lol. They are both nuzzling the laptop off of me to try and get my attention right now lol.
