  1. that top one is for moving the liver out of the way. good luck to you
  2. I have had several folks in my support group with this and it was acid. please call your dr as you do not need to suffer and sure don't want to get ulcers.
  3. with each sip force air out before you swallow it. this helps. otherwise I get something akin to burps but only lasts about 6-8 burps. also do not use a straw
  4. sorry I have not nor have I heard of it. good luck
  5. actually the 48 hour one is the fastest and best I think. the first day you have all Protein shakes ( the lowest calorie ones not smoothies etc) on the second day have a Protein shake for breakfast one for mid morning one for lunch and one for mid afternoon. have a baked 8 oz chicken breast ( or thigh which is more moist to me) focus and eat very slowly chewing chewing chewing. no drinking rules apply watch for the feeling of satisfaction and then fullness ( but not stuffed) measure how much chicken you have left and subtract from the 8 oz. this is how much your pouch will hold of real food. you will be able to eat more slider food but since we really need to focus on protein this will let you know now much your pouch is holding. for me I usually eat between 3-4 oz meat and a half cup of veggies and I am 13 years out. on the 5 day each day you follow the same meal plan you did just after surgery. day one full liquids day two thick liquids foods ( yogurt applesauce etc) day three pureed foods day four soft foods and day five back to your regular meals. hope these help you good luck
  6. we now find great new friends thro the support groups or people who we have never hung with because they did physical things that we could not do. it does all work out for the best in the long run. just sad at first
  7. so glad for you you are on your way.
  8. you can add anything that is in your plan and that your pouch will accept. we can take any suggestion and add or subtract from it to make it our own. good luck to you
  9. congrats to you. sounds like you have made it thro and are having a great start. best of luck to you
  10. your dr is right. the sweat collects between the loose skin and your body. mine lasted about 7 months and then quit not sure why. also had to watch being in the sun too much. I have never burned or blistered but did get those little water blisters. again went away when I showered. proud of you exercising great job
  11. sounds exactly like the problem I had. just keep going back and they will find a way to make it work for you. good luck
  12. sure glad you are off all meds. isn't it a wonderful perk. best of luck to you
  13. just hang in there hopefully they will be able to get it fixed. I think I had to try several earpieces before they found ones that worked some were too big so they hurt and the small ones slipped out. good luck to you
  14. I had just gone to pureed foods so liked refried Beans with cheese melted on top and the ricotta bakes I would put veggies thro the blender and make my broth real thick.
  15. I was told 6 weeks and then no weight lifting for two months
  16. don't really have to but I am not much on veggies so it helps me eat them ugh.
  17. your dr has examined you and knows the issues. each one of us is different. I have heard everything from one day to a month but it all depends on the surgeon. trust him. I was not on a liq diet at all. also just told to not gain weight and I had a laproscopic rny. never had any trouble and ate kfc mac and cheese for my first meal out of the hosp. of course could only eat three bites. I have done great with no issues but dr knew my liver was fine from all the pre surgery testing. I sure wish you the best of luck tomorrow
  18. never thought of Canadian bacon sure will try it the next time. some folks also use eggplant as their base. really has no flavor so blends in well with the toppings.
  19. thanks pintrest has a ton of bariatric recipes for all stages from liquids to full out foods.
  20. danaymacklin with that attitude you will be one of our success stories. we just have to keep pushing. I sometimes get off track but it only takes a few lbs of gain to jump start me back to doing what I need to do. that is why these boards are so great. between this and several closed facebook sites I can get all my questions answered and get the encouragement I need. best of luck to you
  21. there are now store bought pizza crusts out there that are made with cauliflower. I saw them at walmart last week/ I still prefer the chicken crust ones and make it myself from a recipe I gott off pintrest. there are also low carb flours like carbquick at health food stores play around with the options til you find one you really like then pile on the meat and veggies. enjoy
  22. probably not. we have been eating so little with the liquids and then purée but the 5 day pouch check you can be sure if it really bothers you.
  23. way to go this is so much more than just about the food. it is a whole lifestyle change proud of you
  24. we really sweat that scale so happy for the great news.
  25. it really worked for me. I am 13 years out and had never had a regain until my sister died last year. I gained 20 lbs and wanted to stop the gain before it got too much to handle. I used it just before thanksgiving. I did the 5 days and then went back to the basics of 64 oz water ( or decaf tea or crystal light) no drinking 30min before during or 30 min after. 65-80 grams protein 30=45 grams carbs and no sugar or flour. I have lost 18 lbs over the holidays with Christmas day and new years day off ( I ate what all the family ate just tiny portions.) I love love love potatoes so allow myself a pot ( 2 fingerlings or tiny reds or a half a small sweet pot) twice per week. I don't do bread or pasta or rice as I have not found a substitute I think tastes good. I am back to food rather than shakes except when I am traveling and cant stop long or find a place where I can eat. I have about 6 or 7 fast food places where I know I can get a good healthy meal ( most will give you the meat and no the bread) any restaurant will do as I know what I can select and do fine with at least two portions and sometimes three to bring home. I hope this helps you best of luck
