Unless you have co morbities they should cover . My BMI is 35 but I have high blood pressure, coronary heart / artery disease abd and the beginning level of diabetes. When I started my journey in July I was between 245 - 250 and I'm down to 228. My goal is to get between 150 - 160 which was the weight I was after I had my daughter 28 years ago . I start mine pre op diet on Monday. I have been drinking Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch for a while so I know these next 2 weeks when I start on Monday I will be okay. Well I need to be so I'm disciplining myself by staying focus and determined. If I mess up then it defeats the purpose of why I chose to have this surgery. I have Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield NY insurance. How long did anyone wait before they got a response. My surgical coordinator sent the info to the finance dept at the hospital so they in turn could send it in to the insurance company. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 30th. Cannot believe that 3 weeks from today I will be joining many on the losers bench . I started my journey in July 6th 2016 at the seminar and these six months just went by so quick. I can recall saying to mself the first day of my appt after the seminar on Aug 12th after I got my surgery date that these six months are going to drag b/c I was anxious, nervous and more so just excited about this life change to be and look now I have 21 days left . I have learn so much during my appts , weight loss management classes and being involved in these support groups as well as having the greatest support system from my bosses, family, church family , my three cousins who had the surgery and lastly a close knit circle of friends . I feel so blessed b/c although im not morbidly obese I am considered obese but with my health issues I have I know I will get past it and will be a healthier new me for 2017 and beyond. My last appt b4 surgery was today for medical Clearance and Anesthesiologist. I'm all set and got my paperwork to bring in the day of surgery. Now to start my liquid diet on the 16th . I will get the phone call on Friday the 27th to find out what time to go to the hospital on the 30th. I'm excited , nervous and anxious but more excited. Im taking back my life and hopefully give back my meds that I will no longer need to take for my high blood pressure and i have my sugar levels go down to a normal level so I won't need to start taking meds for that.
