    Dec19 is my date

Well good for you. Yes, the first couple weeks are trying... Hang in there & trust me when I say FIGHT THE URGES. You'll want to cheat, just sneak something here & there, but it's not worth it. I also had a hiatal hernia repaired. I had horrible acid reflux with bad night time cough. 4 drs & only my surgeon thought about a possible hernia Causing it all. Sleeved 11/18. Highest weight 291. Current weight 248! Hang In there & reach out when you're feeling tempted or weak.

    Meat sensitivity-is that normal?

Thanks for that tip. I'll look into it here

    22 days post op?

Yes scrambled eggs are soft & should be something you can tolerate, provided there isn't a lot of butter or other fattening stuff with the eggs. It will take you a while to get it down. That's normal. I was sleeved 11/18 & it still takes me about 30-45 mins. to eat a meal.

    It's all worth it

Can't believe you're back to work 23 days post op. That's got to be rough. Hang in there & listen to your body. If you need to rest, do so. I'm 5.5weeks post op & still find myself needing to rest during the day. I go back to work 1/3! Happy New Year. Happy New You.

    Meat sensitivity-is that normal?

I still can't tolerate chicken. I was sleeved on 11/18 and it still feels like it's sitting in my stomach. I hear it's best to stay away from deli meats as much as possible because they are so processed. Have you tried other pork items? Doing so will help you determine if it's a pork aversion or just that cut of meat.

    My hubby's surgery tomorrow

It's great you two are doing this together. Be strong for each other. Just make sure he doesn't advance his diet too soon (since you're 2 weeks ahead of him on the eating plan).

    I'm freaking starving.

Hang in there... It does get better. If you didn't get a sample eating plan, let me know and I can share mine. There are other options for getting thru this stage. I purchased a lot from Bariatric Choice through Amazon & them directly. They have pre & post surgery approved foods with 15+ grams of Protein. 1 in 4 sleeve patients fail because they push thru the diet too soon. It does get better, but you have to think of it as food being a necessity to live, not fill voids. I don't want to hear that you're one of those failures by advancing your diet too soon. Call up surgeon's office to see if he has tips or a support group to help you get through this time. By the way, hold off on Mac & Cheese... There are healthier options to get protein & flavor in. Original weight 291. Sleeved 11/18. Current weight 248. Goal 175. Hang in there.

    Pouch Reset

I agree with these 2 with the exception of stretching your sleeved stomach. Unfortunately, I had a cousin that didn't listen to her body & ate more than she needed constantly. This can lead to stretching of the sleeve, as your stomach is an organ that adjusts to the capacity it's constantly being pushed to. If you overeat a lot, then your stomach will get used to that feeling & fullness. My cousin who is now looking into scheduling a bypass after the sleeve, to undue the horrible habits she didn't correct in the first place. Hang In there.

4 days post opp/ extreme hunger

Unfortunately, it sounds like you haven't taken care of your mental & emotional connection to food. If you had surgery last week, there's no way you should be on anything more than smoothies. Trust the process & get back on track while you can. You can end up doing more harm than good & trust me, that'll prove to be very bad. Call your surgeon's office & talk to them about your cravings. See if there is a Support Group to help with your relationship with food. They say 1 in 4 people fail after this surgery & I'd hate for you to be that 1. You can do this. Original weight 291. Sleeved 11/18. Current weight 248. Goal 175. Hang in there.

I feel the same way I had my surgery 12/17 and I'm so hungry I cheated for the holidays I hope I haven't messed things up but I'm sick of Protein , broth and soupI hope you haven't "messed" up the process. I was sleeved 11/18 and I couldn't cheat if I tried, as I got so terribly sick. Hang in there... 6 weeks may feel like an eternity when you're going through it, but think about the long term progress & your overall goal. Hopefully you didn't take your body through this evasive surgery just to mess it up because you fell victim to your cravings. By the way, I went overboard on buying stuff throughout my eating phases. I bought products from Bariatric Choice, to include protein rich chicken Noodle soup (post surgery approved), Cappuccino drink mix & protein Water enhancers. All products are 15grams of protein or more & decently flavored. Let me know on here if you're interested in trying these products before buying them yourselves through Bariatric Choice. I have protein water & Ensure, all of which I'm willing to sell for the per unit cost plus shipping. This is an inexpensive way to try these products before buying them in bulk the way I did. (I can post pics if any of you would like them.)

Hang in there. A lot of that is mental. You have to overcome the urge to eat, esp knowing you can stretch your stomach out even this soon after surgery. When you get to the soft foods stage, it'll be a lot harder to get things down. Most of the issue is thinking, wait... I haven't eaten. But when you look at food as a necessity & not a want, it helps. I was sleeved 11/18 & down 43lbs. It's definitely been a journey, but find stuff that is semi satisfying. Loose skin already?

Hey everyone. I hear weight training, even low weight/hugh repetitions are great for helping your skin tone. It of course isn't foolproof, but it does help. I was sleeved 11/18, down 43lbs & besides What was already flabby, I don't have extra skin because I started low weight training the moment I could lift. Trust me, The 10lbs weight limit we first had was enough.
  15. I am 4wks post sleeve surgery. I know the doctor told me no ruffage, including lettuce. But am I allowed to eat collard greens mixed with kale? Of course they're cooked, but is it ok yet?

Thanks... They were good, but I vacuum sealed them & put them in my freezer until I can enjoy them.

    5 weeks post op

I used to take omeprezole (Prilosec) daily. At my 4wks post op last week, the Dr told me I could stop the medicine & only take as needed. The last 2 days have been hell for heartburn & reflux. Started the medicine again today & feel so much better. (FYI - I struggle getting my liquids down too.)

    Milk

I was sleeved on 11/18 & still on full liquid diet. I was told to not start soft foods until my follow up on Monday. Anyway, my 2 cents is that warm milk with Protein powder is a good way to get liquids in. I was craving hot chocolate last night so I warmed skim milk & put in my chocolate Protein Powder. It wasn't the same, but close I guess. Sent from my LG-H918 using the BariatricPal App

  23. Congratulations on the decision to make this lifestyle change. I'm 6 days out from mine & there were a couple days I was like, "what the hell did I do?" There have been days when I've questioned my whole life, but it all gets better. I'll keep you in prayers & look forward to following your journey. Sent from my LG-H918 using the BariatricPal App
  24. First of all, hang in there. I know you have a goal in mind, but everyone's weight loss journey is different. Remember, this isn't a race to lose as much as possible, but a total lifestyle change. Exercising is good, but you have to look at your total health. Try other forms of exercise, but cutting more calories isn't the answer. When your body thinks it's starving, it holds on to everything it can because it doesn't know when more fuel is coming. Eat higher Protein meals more frequently & change the exercise routine. That'll jump start the loss again. Congrats on coming off the meds... That's the ultimate goal. Reduce meds & increase health & wellness. Hang in there. Sent from my LG-H918 using the BariatricPal App
