Post Your Skinny Dream Clothes
Ok, forget the blazer. I just raised the bar. Here's my goal, hair, body, clothes. Yup, this is going to take some work, a boobie lift and a tummy tuck, but I'm ready to give it a go! One year from now, I will post a picture of me and we'll see how close I've come. *grins*

Post Your Skinny Dream Clothes
My dream outfit is very close to what Heather described. Only, I want to wear a black or navy blue blazer with it. I'll see if I can find a picture that comes close to what I have in mind.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
I'm just checking in to say that this thread is full of big losers! And I'm so happy for each of you! My goal is to join y'all by the end of September. That would put me over 100 pounds lost in 9 months. I can live with that!

Hello & Introduction
Just so nobody misses it on the Boise May Events thread... The Idahobansters Soup Night is going to be on Tuesday, May 23rd, at 6:30 p.m. at Johnny Carino's at Fairview and Eagle in Boise/Meridian. Take the Eagle Road exit off of the Interstate and turn right onto Eagle Road. At Fairview Avenue, turn right, and then turn right into the parking lot when you see Johnny Carino's (before the next light). I hope you can all make it!

It's weigh-in day and most of you are using the correct reporting format. Here is it again for those of you who haven't seen it yet: C 238.5 (-68.5 total, -3 this week) That's mine for the week. So far so good for those who have reported. No loss/no gain is good, right? You ladies who aren't losing are surely seeing tremendous changes in the way your clothes are fitting. You are eating right and working out a lot. Soon you step on those scales and see a huge drop! Me? I'm being lazy and I'm flabby. I think I'd rather be like you!

What to expect ?

Gone for Good Club - May 2006
Wow, everyone is doing so well! I wish I could get the motivation to exercise. I go a couple of times, then slack off for a week. I think I'm just lazy by nature. Work my brain all day long, but leave my poor body alone! I saw my surgeon this morning. After reviewing my food logs (calories, Protein intake, portion sizes) and weight loss for the past two months, he said I don't need a fill. I was happy to hear that! Since my TOM has passed, my hunger has returned to normal and my ability to eat larger portions has decreases. Odd huh? Anyway, I'm averaging a loss of a little over 12 pounds per month, which is above his expectation of 8 to 10 lbs per month. So... as the saying goes, 'If it aint broke, don't fix it!' Funny - Im proud of you, sis. Hang in there and you will see good results. There's no way you won't! I know I haven't been posting much lately. I've just not been in a talkative mood. Well, that and I've been watching my 2 yr old grandson everyday, all day. He's a sweetheart, no trouble at all but man does he wear me out! Keep up the good work everyone, and remember - Tomorrow is weigh in day!

*grins* That's almost 70 pounds (68 as of today) in 5 months - thank you very much! *snickers* Thanks, Diane. I know you care and I'm just being a whiner. I can do it with will power, but that's stressful and making me grumpy. I paid a lot of money for this band so I'm going to stop obsessing and get my stupid fill. *huggles Diane* Thanks

Being fat and finding love
I swear, I believe that there must be a sign on the forehead of lonely women that can only be read by men. It says, "I'm desperate for someone to love me, so I'll take any crap you throw at me as long as you make me believe you love me." That is an open door for every abusing, using, jerk in the world to walk through... and trust me, they will. I married twice before I found that the third time really was a charm. Every man I dated or married all had the same "wrong qualities". So, I finally got smart and decided it was time to do the opposite of what I would normally do. And the first thing on the list was to STOP looking for that Mr. Right. I was always attracted to the same type of man, so what was the point in looking? The second was to STOP expecting to find a man who possessed all of the right qualities, when I myself possessed none of them. I once read that we should make a list of all of the things that we would insist upon in a perfect mate. Every quality, every personality trait, etc. Then, we should go back over that list and check off the ones that we can honestly say we possess. It's not surprising to find that we possess very few of them. So, why do we think we are going to attract someone who does? I have found that the important thing in finding real love is not the timing, the outfit, the perfect responses, the perfect hair or body. The most important thing is being ready for it when it comes along. Number one, so we can recognize it... and number two, so we can handle it. I would suggest focusing on becoming the best you that you can be - inside and out. You might be surprised at how much higher your standards become once you feel good about you.

My big NSV!! (pictures)
What a lovely bunch of ladies. Your mom must be very proud. I feel sorry for your brother though. He gets left out every Mother's Day! *grins* Grats on your NSV. I knew you used to be the largest of the sisters and you once said you were afraid that they would all treat you differently once you were no longer the biggest. So... now that you're one of the little sisters, how is it?

Gone for Good Club - May 2006
Hello my friends. I'm going in to see my Dr on Tuesday, and I'm struggling so much with the idea of getting more fill. I'm getting hungry about every 2-3 hours now and I know I can eat a lot more than I should - I'm just controling myself with will power. I have gone from eating between 800 and 1,000 calories per day up to 1,100 to 1,300. Now I know that for this tool to work properly it has to be used properly which means the right amount of restriction. But I'm so stinking scared of going through what you're going through, Diane. Being too tight causes problems, and I swear - things are going so well I'll just lose my mind if I do something stupid and cost myself this band. Someone tell me to stop obssessing over this and get that stupid fill. *sighs*

Hello & Introduction
2queenbee - You've posted on the Idaho thread, which probably wont get a lot of exposure. Not many of us live in Spudland! LOL Go to the Introductions Forum and start a new thread there. You'll get lots of responses and meet a lot more people that way. Lorri - Welcome to LBT and to Bandland! I've been going to the support groups for about three months now and I think it's good to get together and hear what everone else is doing, share ideas and struggles, and just make new friends. It helps to know you're not alone, ya know? The St. Al's support group meets on the second Tuesday of each month, and the Idahobandsters have Soup night on the last Thursday of each month. The St. Al's group is mostly folks who were banded locally by Dr Cahn and Dr Anderson, but the Idahobandsters group has folks who were banded at various different places, including Mexico. It's a more relaxed night for visiting. Last month was my first one and it was a lot of fun. As Linda said, we'll post where the Soup Night is going to be this month, and I hope we see you there. In the meantime, stay plugged in here. There are so many folks who are just full of great suggestions and support. You'll love it here!

3 weeks out and NOT LOSING WEIGHT ! hmmm
Ah yes, the old "not enough calories" pitfall. I'm glad your nutritionist set you straight on that! Start getting in the habit of drinking your Water, too. Have a look at this article. It's a quick and easy read and will help you see why drinking enough water will help you lose weight. http://www.inch-aweigh.com/water.html Roseann - I eat iceburg lettuce type salads (prebagged) and have had no problems. I also eat frozen veggies (peas and carrots, cauliflower, broccoli), boiled a long enough to make them really soft. I also eat canned green Beans. No problems with any of these veggies.

What can I EAT ?
Here's the link: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=3995 Click on it and it will open a new window with the thread that Morsaille was referring to. Also, dont worry about being able to eat as you did pre-banding. This is normal as you wont have much restriction until you get your first fill. In the meantime, dont worry about anything other than eating the right types of foods for the stage of healing that your tummy is in. Losing weight during the first six weeks is a bonus. Letting the stitches heal and the band get seated in well should be your number one focus right now.

Help Help Help!
You'll be ok, sweetie. Just call your doctor. I'm sure this will pass, but you need to take good care of yourself and get it under control. *big hugs* Now, go call your doctor. *big smiles* And everyone needs to know all possibilities of complications and the discomforts that go along with this. While it IS worth it, it's only fair to have all the facts before making the decision to be banded.

I would call your doctor as soon as possible. You should be able to get fluids down. If not, you'll get dehydrated - you probably already are. They will most likely bring you in for IV fluids and give you something for the nausea. Don't put this off. All of the wretching can cause problems with your band. Let us know what the Dr does. And don't wait until tomorrow. All Drs have an answering service and can be reached. *hugs*
