  1. *laughs* Good grief, I LOVE this group! Y'all rock!

Joyce, its all yours for September hon. If ya need some help, just let me know. Um.. oh crap. I haven't updated yet! LOL! I'll do that right after this post. Then you can just copy and paste them for the start of the Sept thread. For the new folks.. we always start a new thread for each month so our threads don't get so long. There will be a link to the September thread once we get it prepared.

DeAnn - I want a tat! I'm coming to your son's to get it done! Sweet! Oh.. shhh.. dont tell Dawg! *grins*

503 - I'm so happy for you! Inches and pounds can be deceiving, but our clothes never lie! 45 pounds is a LOT of weight!

Diva - I'll be giving your bbq thing some thought. *thinks* Hmm...

If I missed anyone I'll be back!

  2. I'm ashamed of you all for these disgusting posts. Now be quiet so I can go back and read them again to be certain they said what I thought they said!

Looks at the bottom of the page. Oo.. I have a stalker. *snickers*

  3. Ok, so I bought my ticket and I will be in for sure on the afternoon of the 16th (Sat). Has anyone decided definitely that they can be in or near to Asheville on that night?

I'm thinking of around 6pm. Kathy will have a 2hr drive to get home! Crazy girl. *laughs*

Tonya, could you PM me with a few options for hotels that are nice but not terribly spendy and in a good part of town since I'll be very new to that area, I'd also like one that's fairly close to the highway. Thanks!

Oh and if anyone can't make it Sat night, I'll be meeting FunnyDuddies and her family for brunch the next morning. Anyone is welcome to join us for that as well. :D

  4. Cheryl -- Aww thats only 6 more pounds! You can do it! Are you drinking a min of 64oz of Water a day? Are you walking? You should allow yourself all the fresh veggies you want with that slim fast and if you get super hungry, have some tuna in your salad. *hugs* You can do that! Easy peasy!

IdahoBeauty -- Here's my goal pic!

  5. I know it sounds crazy, but I am 9 months in and have never foamed, slimed or PBd.

Thats awesome! Thats good! Thats fantastic! PBs are painful and not good. They can cause the band to slip, the esophagus to become inflamed, and so much more!

The closest I ever came to sliming was with scrambled eggs with ham. Again, another chewing issue. I was spitting slimey spit out for the next ten minutes...but I have eaten scrambled eggs since then, and ham, and scrambled eggs and ham. I have no problems eating ANY food.< /p>

So like I said, crazy, but it would be nice to be full with 1/2 cup of food.

I think the expecation of only eating 1/2C is unrealistic. Especially for a person your size (no offense.. I started at 307 pounds). It takes a lot of energy to carry around the excess weight we all deal with, you need to be eating a reasonable amount of food and its good that you can eat ANY food. But just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Avoid breads and sugars. Focus on eating hard Proteins such as chicken, fish, and beef when you are hungry. Eat slowly and don't drink with your meals.

Have you seen this list for determining whether or not you have enough (or too much) restriction? Its an excellent guideline that we should all keep in the forefront of our thoughts during our weightloss journey with the band. It is easy to become impatient when there is such a long way to go. But slow and steady will win this one.. 1-2 pounds a week. That is average. If you lose too fast, you'll have so much skin you wont know what to do with it all. And that would leave you as miserable as you are now, or close to it. *hugs*

    Edited: Oops.. forgot the link:

  6. Awww.. 503, you dont have to weigh in at all if you dont want. Some do, some dont. The idea of this club was to bring some folks together that wanted a closer community of friends who believe the band does work if we work it and that we can keep the weight off. We wanted the club to be what each member needed for their own journey, not a competition or one person's personal thread. So.. now that you've joined, take what ya need, give what ya can.. but above all know that we are all in this together and you can count on an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and friends around you to help hold ya up. :P

That.. is the Gone for Good Club! :D

PS - And we also have our secret weapon.. Telly *winks*

  7. Welcome to the Club 503-250!!

Its that easy! What we usually like is for people to tell us a bit about themselves and if you look on the first page you'll see the list of members and their stats by their name. If you want your stats on there, just include them in your post and I'll put them on there for ya.

Once a week, on Wednesdays, we all report our current weight and then the person in charge of updates for that month will edit the stats.

    So glad you joined!

  8. Hm.. this question has been asked a lot around here.

My best suggestion would be to sit down with your hubby and tell him how hard it is to be around the tempting foods and how much it means to you to be healthy. Ask him to support you by eating his favorite junk foods when he's not home. *laughs*

As for cooking.. even tho your man is thin it doesn't mean he's healthy. Try cooking meals that focus on grilled meats and veggies. Try leaving off the breads and sugars. Not easy to do, I know, but it is do-able and you'll be surprised at how much better your food tastes and how much better you feel.

  9. *chuckles* Hiya Michelle! Youre not excited or anything are ya? :P

Grats on beating the insurance companies and getting approved!

Lots of us use the chat room, you can see when ppl are in there by looking at the bottom of the main page, under the forums.

Also, as for words of wisdom.. go into the FAQ and Reference Forum and you'll find many many threads about preparing for surgery, questions to ask, things to have on hand, etc.

Best wishes to ya! Keep us posted on how youre doing.

  10. Now is always the perfect time to begin working toward your goal of good health. But, rather than put yourself on a liquid diet why not do something more moderate that will help you adjust to better food choices.

Reduce your calorie intake to about 1,200 per day and eat a minimum of 60 grams of Protein per day. Focus on fish and chicken. Also, start getting in the habit of drinking a minimum of 64oz of Water per day, and getting in about 30 mins of some form of exercise.

I think these things will benifit you more than going on a liquid diet. Just my opinion. :P

  11. Put up or shut up, Missy. Quote anything I have said on any thread that was nasty and bitter and hateful. And dont say I deleted them all. I've deleted only two posts recently and they were both in a thread with Dody.

Edited to correct myself: Oops.. three posts. I deleted the post on a thread last night where I quoted the PM that Lisa sent to me because LaMadam said it appeared to be mean spirited to show it. *shrugs* If you want it back, I can do that.

  12. Ok...

I just heard a dull *thud* sound, like someone getting hit in the chest. And then I hear Dawg say, "Ugh.. that was a silly thing to do"

He just punched himself. What a wacko.

Now he's over there singing.. "sphincter monkeys" to the tune of Freres Jacques.. Freres Jacques.. dorme vous..
