Hey everyone! My VSG surgery date is Dec. 12th and I am currently finishing day 3 of my liquid diet. My surgeon never mentioned binders to me and whether or not they can be used after surgery. Did any of yall choose to use a binder afterwards to help with the pain and get around easier in the beginning? Is it safe to use in general? What kinds are there and where can you buy them? Any help is greatly appreciated ????

I'm hoping I can drink the Isopure juice for my liquid it has Protein. I have tried so much Protein shakes and they are chunky and gross. I had to add a banana or whole milk. I doubt they will let me add bad stuff. And even then they were hard to go down.

Just letting you know I have tried different protein powders and things as well and I REALLY like the Syntrax nectar chocolate Truffle powder. It is so good I ordered it with 2 other nectar flavors to try! My sister uses this one and had her surgery over a year ago, so I tried it and love it. We buy it on Ebay but you can buy it directly on their website as well and they always have a 20% off code
Just in case you want to try something yummy with little to no protein-y taste!

I am going as a self pay patient, and from first apt with the surgeon to my scheduled surgery date of 12-12-16, it will be almost 3 months. Took a bit for me to get all the pre-op appointments in required by my surgeon but I feel blessed it has gone this fast! I'm currently on day 3 of my liquid diet and going strong!

Hi Everyone! I go see the surgeon today to discuss my date. I've started my 2 week pre-op diet so it will be soon! I'm really getting anxious! I'm excited about the potential life changing aspect. However I'm conflicted bc I can't believe I'm about to make such a life changing decision and my relationship with food is about to change drastically. On one hand I'm like Rosie it will be ok! On the other hand I'm like how on earth did I let myself get to this point?? Does this sound like normal emotions or am I just crazy??

I am completely with you on these feelings! I would think that is very normal to feel. I too started my liquid diet on Monday, so I am experiencing all kinds of emotions and thoughts as well. Either way, just know that you wanting to better your health and take control of your body and mind again is nothing short of amazing! Most of us are going through this to help us get back on track and to take our eating back into control after years of allowing ourselves to be controlled by food, so we should consider ourselves brave and amazing for taking this step to be the best versions of ourselves we can be from here on out! We can't change yesterday, but we can sure as heck change our tomorrow
Good luck on everything and let us know when you get your date! Mine is Dec. 12th, so I would think yours should be somewhere around there too
Keep in touch!

Thank you so much! I just ordered this one in my size
Thankfully I had so many rewards points built up on my Amazon card that it didn't cost me anything! Can't beat that!
