    Today's the day...

Congratulations! You're on your way, now
  10. I didn't have a lot of pain until a few days after surgery when my pain pump was empty, I felt real pain. The meds helped and in a day or so, I was ok. Tylenol alone kept me relatively comfortable. Remember your fluids and Protein drink, you will feel much better and be better able to do your walking. The longer you wait to get started the harder it is to get started. So start as soon as your doctor says so. My doc said the same day as surgery for a couple of minutes and 10 minutes 3x/day after that

    Today's the day...

I'm so senior you the 2 of you having surgery today at 69. I thought it was a mistake to try now. But 10/10 was my day. I did fine in regards to surgery and post op. The pain is bearable. Follow your doctor's program and you'll be fine. You're in my thoughts and prayers,

    Gatorade g2 low claorie

I used both the Protein drink and the g2 and crystal light, to make the drink pallitable. dietition listed it
  13. The weakness lasted about 3 weeks. I was foolish and should have call the doctor. But I kept trying to drink the required Protein drink and liquids. I eventually got enough in to make me feel better. Now I am feeling fine and trying to stick strictly to the plan. Thanks for asking. I'm glad I found this forum I've learned alot

    Popcorn

How did you know that was on my mind, a nice glass of Mascato is winking at me. But I'm afraid to add anything right now.

    Bowel prep?

Wow, I had 10 days pre-op clear liquid, it did the trick liver shrunk as planned. No bowel prep ad was advanced to full liquids 6 days post-op. Tolerated well..
  17. Good luck. I just advanced to regular diet (with restrictions) yesterday. I would advise you to stick strictly to YOUR doctors plans. I didn't have any complications, but I was so weak I could barely get out of the chair. If I had made more effort to drink the required Water and Protein, I would have felt better and probably would have lost more weight. Reading about others successes and problems has eased my mind considerably, I feel less isolated. I wish you all the luck. Stay strong and on plan when it is the hardest!

    Sleeved July 14 th. 2016

It's good to hear you stuck to it. I am only 8 weeks out, tomorrow. The worse problem I had was that dreadful tiredness and lethargy. It only lasted 2 & 1/2 weeks, thankfully. I am losing very slowly and tend to drop 4 lbs at a time, then nothing for weeks. I've lost a total of 30 lbs since starting the pre-op diet. Your story gives me courage to just keep at it. Thank you.

    Popcorn

Thank you all for your comments. I havent had any popcorn yet and I think I'll wait awhile longer. But everything is not on the list and sample meals plans from our doctor, so there are things I question. Better to hear what others are experiencing. Again thanks All. I appreciate the comments

    Needing Sleeve Buddies

I had surgery 10/10. Initially I felt fine with little pain. I went through the 10-day pre-op diet (Clear liquids, nothing greater than 5 Cal/serving, outside of the 1/2 stength gatorade). But I was weak. Surgar free Jello was my saving grace, thought I was eating gold. I''m in week 3 (2 weeks post op) I was progressed to soft - thin cream of chicken and potato Soups were my best friends. I am now on modified regular and doing well with the diet. One hiccough was the melon mix-up. The list said melon, so I went with my favorite fruit - watermelon. I had 2 bouts of explosive diarrhea, thought I had the flu. Next day it dawned on me that it could be the watermelon. I tried it again, smaller amount and had a bout of diarrhea within 30 min. I know now that watermelon is not for me yet. I wish I had joined a support goup before surgery, but at least earlier than I did, as many questions arose and I felt foolish calling the doctor. But I know I shouldn't have. I have only lost 1 lb in the last 3 weeks and it's making me crazy. My doctor says, don't worry about the weight, just stick to the plan and all will be well. But I am still worried sick that I'm doing something wrong. I haven't exercised as much as I should have, as I felt weak. About 2 weeks ago, on Tuesday I woke up full of energy and have been moving a lot every since, but still no weight loss. Any advice - I promise not to be so long-winded next time.
