  1. That's odd, I get Migraines regularly and was concerned about medications but I talked to my nurse yesterday on the phone and my meds are fine to take. In fact they told me to bring them w me next Tuesday-day of my surgery-in case I need them. Mind you-I take imitrex - the injectable kind. Maybe that is worth checking into with your doctor. Living with Migraine pain is the pits! Good luck. Hope u feel better.

  2. Thank you for sharing! Iam okay with slower in exchange for permanency. Wondering what Christmas will look like this year, and how will I ever explain at my big family dinner why I am not eating and eating and eating....and eating. #lifechanges

I started at 220 bmi 35 and was 207 by surgery (10 day pre op diet). I am down to 180 now as few days shy of week 8. With my dieting in the past I rarely lost my that 10 or 15 lbs then gain it back. Twice I managed to lose to 168 but again gained back within a few months. Without this I don't know what I would have done.

  3. I just love your story....Losing slowly does have health advantages....and you are so right....could not have done it on my own. Looking forward to next Tuesday when my journey truly begins. Thank you for your input!!!

I started at 213 BMI 35. My sleeve was 10/18 and I am now 189. I have to be mindful that the goal is 35lbs at six months post op. While it sometimes seems like a slow loss I know that is a comparison issue. Losing slowly has health advantages. I just remind myself that I wasn't able to lose this much on my own so every few pounds is a victory.

  4. Thank you! You are doing amazing....it is an easy decision to do this but also one of the hardest I have ever made. I appreciate your words of advice, to listen to doctors AND my body...we can't wake up thin - damn it! But we have a tool that will change our lives forever....Slow and steady wins the race!

Do what your told by medical staff. I was sleeved 9.7.16. I was 380lbs. Being off the chart.. I'm down 30lbs. I'm taking it slow. U do the same. Ask questions when U don't understand. Pay attention to yourself. Take it slow.

  5. YES! That's me too, exactly how I feel. My whole life has been about a diet...I have tried them all I think! Good Luck today....please keep me posted on your surgery and recovery!

I was initial bmi of 37 at 225 now 1 day before surgery at 222. Sometimes I don't feel fat enough to get this surgery, it wakes me up at but that wondering if this is really what I need to do. But I've been up and down my whole life, mostly up. I've tried losing weight for the past year with no success. Are you struggling with the can't I lose it without surgery questions? I some days I am and some days not, I hope tomorrow this questioning is over with. Good luck on your journey too!

Which is why I am self pay. Looking fwd to finally having a permanent tool to help me get back to the 140's. Any tips or tricks r welcome

  7. I am scheduled for my VSG on November 29th with Dr Gagner. I too am self pay. So far my experience has been excellent. I was unable to see him in person (iam 6 hours away) so I had a telephone consultation. He answered all my questions and so far his support staff have been great too. Very quick to answer all my follow up questions. Admittedly, getting nervous as the day approaches.
