I started losing my hair about 4 months after surgery. I did use Nioxin and it did not help at all. I spent a lot of money on that vitamins and protien shakes. Nothing helped. Only time worked for me. It did stop and it did grow back. I lost about 50% of my hair though. It was very scary for me. But all is well now and it was totally worth it. Good luck to you.

My Dr told me that it is because you are taking in a lot less calories and your body is not having to work to burn them. I know that whenever I get a fill and have to do liquids for a couple days I get really cold. Im not to sure about the insulation thing because I was freezing even when I was 300 pounds. The calorie thing deffinitly makes sence to me. But I am happy about it. Before lap band I was always hot and now my electric bill has gone down. My hubby is happy about that.

I wish I would have seen this earlier. I have been having this shoulder pain for almost 2 years. It is horrible. My Dr is actually checking with my insurance to see if they can replace my band. I really feel the problem is the way it is placed in there. It feels like it keeps making pockets of air and that is what hurts me. Yes I would still get the band again. And I am happy that I have it. But I dont want to have to take pain killers all the time to be able to get through the day. I would love for my Dr to tell me that this sometime happens. Instead they act like I am an the first person to have this. I feel better now just knowing that there is not something major wrong with me. Good luck to all of you.

I had a lot of hip pain while I was losing weight. My knee also started hurting a little. I think that my body just had to adjust to its new weight. It has gone away completely now though.

Well the Dr took out all of my fill on Friday to see if the shoulder pain got better. Well it did. Not completely but for the most part it was better. My Dr told me that I could have it put back today so I would not over eat to much. Well he put it back in and before I even left the office the pain was back. He wants me ot let him know how it is over the next couple days. And then we will go from there to see what my options are. He mentioned a new band that is out that is easier on your stomach. So I will let you know what happens. I do know that I can not keep having this pain all the time.

I had my band put in about two years ago and I still have this pain. I had an unfill about 3 months ago and have since gained about 20 pounds. The unfill did help. But I noticed right before and during my time of the month the pain is very bad. I have tried all the gas meds I can find. I have tried eating only liquids and still nothing helps. I am going today to get my fill put back in so I can lose this weight and I will talk to him about what we can do to fix this. I also feel like I cannot function with this pain. Some days I take pain killers just so I can function enough to take care of my boys and do all the mom things that need to be done. I will let you know what he says today about it. Good luck to you.

I alos lost about 50% of my hair. It really freaked me out. But it has since all come back and I cant even tell I lost any now. I kept up on my protein and vitamins. I even spent a lot of money on Biotin. The only thing that helped was time.

I feel the same way. Sometimes I have so much energy that I dont know what to do with it. It is awesome. Congrats on the weight loss. You look great.

Sounds like someone deffinitly made a mistake in calling you to reschedule the seminar. Accidents do happen. I would just make sure this is the only one made. If it happens again you know they have a problem keeping things together and you might want to find someone else. I'm sure you are very bummed. I know it is exciting. I cant eat brownies. I guess that is a good thing. But when I did try and eat them I think they clogged my stomach or something. Because I had a stomach ache for about an hour. Other then that everything gors down to easy. I need a fill.

I am always cold to. I was told that it is because we are not taking in as many calories. So our body is not constantly working to burn them off. It really makes sense to me because before the lap band I was always sweaing. Maybe because I was eating all the time. But right after my surgery I was always cold. So I know it was not because I had lost my insulation. I notice after I have a fill and I am on liquids I am even colder. I actually never get hot anymore. I like that though.

I started out at 309 pounds and was wearing a 44 D. After I lost the weight I went down to a 40 B. I just had breast augmintation though so I am now a 42 D. So yes for me they did go down in size. Good luck to you.

Oh I would love to have a body lift. I watch it all the time on those surgery chanels. I cant believe what a difference it makes. I had my breast done about 4 months ago. It has made me feel soooo much better about myself. I would really like to save up now and get a TT or body lift for my 40th birthday. I guess you have to have extra money to save in the first place so I guess that will never happen. LOL. But to answer you question. I lost 100 pounds and I could really use some work done on my lower stomach. Even if I never get it done I still like myself more now then before.

I think that the statment about you could just get rid of it was a bit to much. You dont just get rid of a baby. I am really happy for you. And you are right. Your 20 years old and you already love your baby. There is no reason that you would not be able to take care of you and your new little one. Women do it all the time. I would choose the one on the sofa. Your shirt is a little tighter there so it shows more. I wish I would have had one where my clothes were tighter. Good luck to you. I hope you love your band as much as I love mine.

I get a runny nose if I over eat. If I get something stuck for a couple minutes my nose runs a lot. After I am better again the sniffles go away. Just one of many strange things after the band I guess.

In the beginning mine kind of sank in. Now it is just normal. My moms port really pokes out a lot. They said they could put in a low profile one but like she said. She is not going to be wearing a bikini or anything so she is not worried about it.

I know for me it was not a hard decision. I have a couple of friends who had GB and I deffinitly would not want to have to go through that. The only good thing would be that if you eat sugar it seems to go right through you. I mean one of my girl friends gets really sick if she even has a little bit of a milk shake. Sugar is my weakness so I would love to not be able to eat it. But for now I am very happy with my lap band success. I know that both of them have had to have blood transfusions several times because there iron gets to low. It just seems to be a lot harder on your body. But it is deffinitly a personal choice that you have to make. Every one has there own opinion and I hope nobody gets mad about mine. But I really think that GB is very dangerous. I am right there with you. I was at 185 for the first time since probably 6th grade. I had some of my fill removed because of some problems I was having. Well I gained 15 pounds in 1 month. The old failure feelings start coming back really quick. I have told myself that I will start weighing everything that I eat again like I did in the beginning. I weighed yesterday and I am now at 201 pounds. I told myself I would not get to 200 again. Maybe we could try and do this together. I will be weighing everything today so I dont go over my 4 ounces. I am 5'6 and I am not sure what weight I should be at. But I was down to 185 and am now up to 200 because I had to get my fill taken out due to some throat problems. But I have had it replaced since then. I have not lost the weight that I gained yet. But I think I am actually comfortable here. I know it sounds weird but I feel I look better now. My skin on my face and arms is a lot tighter now. So I think that for me it is just how I feel. I would like to lose about 5 pounds so my pants are not so tight. But I will be happy staying around 190. My Dr seems happy with this to. I guess going from 309 before surgery to 190 is not so bad.

I dont know anyone who has had this done. But I am curious myself. My neck skin is pretty lose and I would deffinitly like to have it tighter. If you get this done please let us know the outcome. Good luck to you.

I have never PBd yet. I have taken to big of a bite to fast and had it stuck. It was painful. But I think it is under your control. If you eat right and dont over do it you should be ok. And remember that everyone is different. Hopefully you will never have any problem. I tell you it would take a lot for me to regret having my band out in. I hate the thought of even having to get it taken out. It has totally been a life saver for me.

I have a glass of wine every now and then. But I can not drink more then 2. It seems like it affects me more now then it used to. Just watch all the calories in the drinks though. If it was me and I was on a cruise I would save up the calories for desserts. YUM! Have fun.

I agree that this is all worth having the band. I just wish that Drs would be a little more honest and tell you all the possible side affects. After my surgery I spoke with my drs office a couple times about the hair loss and they acted like it was something new. Kind of the same thing as the shoulder pain I have. They act like I am the only one who has it. Oh well it is still all worth it.

I remember freaking out about the same thing. I lost about 50% of my hair and at times it would make me cry. My bathroom floor was covered all the time and it kept clogging the drain. I tried all the stuff that people told me. Nioxin, protein and vitamins. All that did was empty my wallet. It really just took time. It will stop and it will come back. Mine is back now. I did end up getting my hair cut shorter. It was to the middle of my back so I got it cut to the shoulders. It made a huge difference. It really made it look and feel thicker. I really feel bad for people when this happens. Hair is so important to us. But I promise it does get better and comes back. We are here for you if you need to talk.
