  1. Hello everyone I'm new to the group, my nutritionist recommended me to join a support group so here I am. This month I will complete my fourth pre op nutrition class. Going in I was dead set on the sleeve but after meeting with the surgeon for the first time he recommends the bypass. I have no co-mobilities I'm just obese. I still want the sleeve but I'm confused been doing a lot of research watching videos and I can't decide. attachicon.gifImageUploadedByBariatricPal1483378520.741320.jpg

  3. I haven't told many people. Only immediate family knows plus one nay sayer. I realized I didn't want to field the "oh you're just going the easy route" comment. That's just ignorance. Besides, I know what I want and what I'm doing and am not looking for approval.

I apologize in advance for negative people who will hurt your feelings. I know what it's like to feel like you are finally doing something good for yourself and being shot down by others.

    Best of Luck!!!

Only my children and husband know. Haven't even told my brother or sister. Not even my closest friend. This is personal to me right now, eventually I'll tell my siblings and friend what I've done but right now, no.

  4. In case you missed it earlier or I missed your request for invite "There is a January 2017 Sleevers Facebook Page. It's a secret group (because some people do not want their friends and family knowing) so if you would like to join you can message me with your email address and I can add you."

Just quote this post or send me a message!

Also, I want to wish everyone going into surgery in the next few days good luck! Please keep us posted on how you are doing!

  5. Good Luck on your surgery too.

    Hi,

My name is Kathy. I had my second appt with my surgeon and he gave me a surgery date...JANUARY 19th. I only have my nutrition class, my last support meeting before surgery and my endoscope to complete....then it's just my surgeon again next Friday and my Primary Drs physical to give me clearance. It's all gone pretty fast. My first appt with my Bariatric Surgeon was November 15th, 2016 and now my surgery date is almost here.

Hi Kathy! That's my surgery date as well!
